08:10 AM rue_mohr: its not a pdf
08:10 AM rue_mohr: they used .pdf
08:10 AM rue_mohr: its wincupl
09:25 AM rue_mohr: I think its "pin descriptor file"
02:07 PM polprog: ough
06:37 PM polprog: happy birthday :)
06:43 PM rue_mohr: heh
06:55 PM Tom_L: OOOO
06:55 PM Tom_L: who?
06:55 PM Tom_L: has he reached ole phart status yet?
07:01 PM polprog: it's not "old"
07:03 PM polprog: it's "industry standard"
07:04 PM polprog: goodnight
07:04 PM polprog: :)
07:29 PM rue_shop1: hey, the TL431 works fine as a zener
07:45 PM aandrew: woo my zoom lenses arrived
07:45 PM aandrew: 5-50 and 6-22mm, both 12mm lenses
07:46 PM rue_mohr: nothing in the mail for me :(
07:48 PM aandrew: today you are not as special as me
07:51 PM rue_mohr: yea I need to dive in a become a robot
07:54 PM aandrew: I'm not necessarily interested in becomign a robot, but if I had the option to transfer my consciousness into a computer that'd be something, as long as I had the ability to flip my own kill switch
07:54 PM aandrew: no idea what existing inside a machine might be like, I'd want the option to end it on my terms
07:55 PM rue_mohr: robot: How about wandering a grocery store all you want without a mask?
07:55 PM rue_mohr: robot: how about flying to somewhere else
07:55 PM aandrew: why would you want to wander around a grocery store if you were a robot?
07:55 PM rue_mohr: robot: no time for supper? plug in
07:55 PM aandrew: why not just 'pour" yourself into whatever machine you want? a wholly-electronic consciousness could potentially do some amazing things
07:55 PM rue_mohr: uh, semiconductors can be consdered groceries cant thy?
07:56 PM rue_mohr: we already have the computing power, we just havn't done the software for it
07:56 PM rue_mohr: its not hard
07:56 PM aandrew: you could "become" a drone, or a satellite, or anything really. design your own body
07:56 PM rue_mohr: same way we could have made a 3d printer in 1987 if we'd wanted to
07:57 PM aandrew: hardware wise? yes. compute wise? no
07:57 PM rue_mohr: na were there
07:57 PM aandrew: cost-wise? no way in hell
07:57 PM aandrew: 1987? that's when C64 was the height of personal computing
07:57 PM rue_mohr: the gpus would do fine
07:57 PM aandrew: what GPUs existed in 1987?
07:57 PM rue_mohr: yea, we just didn't have the software
07:57 PM rue_mohr: no gpu now
07:57 PM rue_mohr: arg
08:00 PM rue_mohr: aliexpress is funny
08:00 PM rue_mohr: member photo, but it doesn't work
08:01 PM rue_mohr: A seller wants me to commit a buy without paying so they can adjust the price, but my account slipped into a mode where it pays automatically
08:01 PM rue_mohr: I tried to test something yesterday and accidently bought $10 of stuff in my cart from a seller
08:11 PM rue_mohr: I cant see how to remove my credit card from aliexpress
08:13 PM rue_mohr: oh it IS alipay
08:18 PM aandrew: rue_mohr: mine does the *exact* sae thing
08:18 PM aandrew: basically they changed things so that accounts always pay right away, and you have to dick around on the mobile app to try to do it "bill me later" which I have *never* got to work
08:18 PM rue_mohr: well, I cant even access the bit to change my credit card details
08:19 PM rue_mohr: it takes me to alipay, and then tries to verify my account by sending me an email that it doesn't send
08:20 PM aandrew: yep
08:20 PM aandrew: it's broken and has been for a long time
08:20 PM aandrew: honestly I think it's super low priority for them to change it because most people will say "fuck it, just pay whatever" and they get their edge
08:34 PM rue_mohr: the card ended up in there by accident when I got flustered once doing a payment
08:36 PM rue_mohr: hah, seller just made me a custom link
09:23 PM rue_mohr: polprog, you know, 9 = 3x3
09:23 PM rue_mohr: and a vga monitor has 3 colours
09:23 PM rue_mohr: sss channels
09:24 PM rue_mohr: no maybe thats silly
09:24 PM rue_mohr: wow I'm tired today
10:43 PM rue_mohr: I still want to know how long a shift register I can build on that fpga
11:09 PM rue_bed: polprog, how could BE transistor junctions be stacked to make a better bar gaph
11:10 PM rue_bed: graph
