02:37 AM rue_shop1: polprog, wincupl breaks because its missing "mfc40.dll"
04:40 AM rue_mohr: OMG wincupl is a heap of junk!
04:46 AM rue_mohr: OMG
04:46 AM rue_mohr: polprog, the GAL I have is a 16V8B
04:46 AM rue_mohr: if you dont add the B when you program it, IT DOESN'T WORK RIGHT
04:47 AM rue_mohr: aaaaaaahhhhhh
04:47 AM rue_mohr: that took me 2 DAYS
05:23 AM polprog: omg
05:23 AM polprog: wait.. i had no idea there was a b version
05:23 AM polprog: i wonder whats the difference
05:30 AM polprog: so you have to write GAL16V8B in the top of the file?
05:31 AM polprog: what are you using now, wincupl or galasm?
09:40 AM polprog: ok, ive got basic electronics exam this week
09:40 AM polprog: totally forgot
09:40 AM polprog: lets calculate some bs signal parameters now
09:40 AM polprog: offset square wave
09:40 AM polprog: i already hate it
09:41 AM polprog: the guy is a didactic anti talent at points
09:41 AM Tom_L: resistor: --/\/\/\--
09:41 AM Tom_L: capacitor: --|(--
09:41 AM Tom_L: that help?
09:41 AM Tom_L: :)
09:41 AM Tom_L: good morning
09:41 AM polprog: :)
09:42 AM polprog: its spelt resister :)
09:42 AM Tom_L: maybe where you come from
10:17 AM polprog: probably the most boring part of electronics
11:39 AM Tom_L: yay motor just arrived
12:54 PM rue_shop1: polprog, well I can tell you the fuse map is different!
12:54 PM rue_shop1: I have the B
12:54 PM rue_shop1: Galasm output was ok after I programmed the chip as a B
12:56 PM polprog: thats great
12:56 PM polprog: ill have to look out then
12:58 PM rue_shop1: Tom_L, oh you will be busy for a while
12:58 PM rue_shop1: polprog, yea, so galasm was ok
02:33 PM Tom_L: naw, still gotta order pullies
02:39 PM Tom_L: 1100lb thrust on x and y
03:22 PM rue_shop1: you have the motor in hand tho?
03:30 PM Tom_L: yes
03:31 PM Tom_L: wired it up
03:31 PM Tom_L: trying to figure out a few things
03:32 PM Tom_L: can't figure out reverse yet
03:35 PM Tom_L: aarg
03:35 PM Tom_L: bad chinese switch i picked
03:36 PM Tom_L: there we go
03:37 PM rue_shop1: show me the manual for it, I can help ya out
03:38 PM Tom_L: i got it, it was a bad switch i picked out of the bin
03:38 PM Tom_L: got hella torque at 120 rpm
03:39 PM Tom_L: that's about as slow as i can get it to go which i figured it would be around there somewhere
03:40 PM rue_shop1: k
03:41 PM rue_shop1: you were worried about speed control I'm ready to help ya out
03:41 PM rue_shop1: in general
03:41 PM Tom_L: it's working as i expected for now
03:41 PM Tom_L: that's about all i can do until i get pullies
04:17 PM polprog: maybe i have tomorrow free
04:20 PM Tom_L: http://tom-itx.no-ip.biz:81/~webpage/cnc/PDF/
04:20 PM Tom_L: rue_shop1, the manual is there
04:21 PM rue_shop1: would you like a hand with the speed control
04:21 PM rue_shop1: your 0-10V right?
04:22 PM rue_shop1: dont brake too hard without a resistor, it'll shutdown or go poof
04:24 PM rue_shop1: ok SV is the analog in, but...
04:26 PM rue_shop1: unusual
04:26 PM rue_shop1: it might just be 0-5
04:27 PM rue_shop1: yea
04:27 PM rue_shop1: ok, so, its probably not isolated
04:27 PM rue_shop1: which is dangerous
04:28 PM rue_shop1: oh no, there they say 0-10
04:28 PM Tom_L: i was looking at how the parameters are set
04:28 PM Tom_L: yeah i'm fine on the voltage
04:28 PM Tom_L: i'm not ready to wire it to the mill yet
04:28 PM rue_shop1: can you do pwm speed?
04:29 PM Tom_L: it does yes
04:29 PM rue_shop1: if you can output pwm, you can isolate it
04:29 PM Tom_L: but i've also got analog out at 0-10v
04:29 PM rue_shop1: I dont suggest hooking your 0-10 up to it without an isolator
04:29 PM Tom_L: it doesn't need isolation it will work direct
04:29 PM rue_shop1: most vfd's have isolated inputs, I dont really think that one does
04:29 PM Tom_L: it's designed to do this
04:29 PM Tom_L: he has them custom built for this
04:30 PM Tom_L: that's what took so long
04:30 PM rue_shop1: ok...
04:30 PM Tom_L: i had the pot on it running it already
04:30 PM rue_shop1: yes
04:30 PM Tom_L: when i get closer to wiring, i'll shout though
04:30 PM rue_shop1: but 0-10V from another device, from another power supply is a different matter
04:30 PM Tom_L: i measured 5v on all the signal pins too like BK F/R EN etc
04:31 PM rue_shop1: yes
04:31 PM Tom_L: they will have a common ground
04:31 PM rue_shop1: and it does say it'll take +- 10V
04:31 PM Tom_L: yes
04:31 PM Tom_L: that's the preferred method
04:31 PM rue_shop1: yea, but with current, grounds change, and things blow up
04:32 PM Tom_L: my test hole with keyslot fits like a champ too
05:12 PM Tom_L: now to wait some more
