12:14 AM rue_mohr: oh right moon goes to sleep
12:20 AM zhanx_workshop_: i dropped 200 feet of rope in the well
12:20 AM zhanx_workshop_: never hit bottom
12:24 AM rue_shop1: oh
12:24 AM rue_shop1: your sure?
12:24 AM rue_shop1: wonder how deep it is
12:24 AM rue_shop1: (I presume you didn't like, lose it in there)
12:24 AM rue_shop1: maybe the pump could only do the 140
12:25 AM zhanx_workshop_: the specs said 304 feet from the website ( drilled in 1904 )
12:26 AM rue_shop1: dear god, they have a record!
12:26 AM rue_shop1: from 1904!!!!
12:26 AM zhanx_workshop_: yep
12:26 AM rue_shop1: what kinda... how were they getting the water OUT in 1904!!!?!?!?!
12:27 AM zhanx_workshop_: it was redone in 1974 also
12:27 AM rue_shop1: surely not a bullet pump
12:27 AM rue_shop1: redrilled?
12:27 AM zhanx_workshop_: sleeved
12:27 AM rue_shop1: oh, what kinda sleeve is it?
12:27 AM zhanx_workshop_: texas has a data base
12:28 AM rue_shop1: how do you get down that far and not have anything shift and pinch it off
12:28 AM zhanx_workshop_: well the 1974 said iron pie
12:28 AM rue_shop1: your sure this only provides water, not oil
12:28 AM zhanx_workshop_: this is 4" pvc
12:28 AM zhanx_workshop_: oil is at 1500 feet here
12:28 AM rue_shop1: oh
12:28 AM rue_shop1: so when you drilling that?
12:28 AM rue_shop1: :D
12:28 AM zhanx_workshop_: not i dont own the rights
12:29 AM rue_shop1: complex
12:29 AM zhanx_workshop_: yea its weird
12:29 AM zhanx_workshop_: there are nature gas wells on the property
12:29 AM zhanx_workshop_: capp'd but here
12:30 AM rue_shop1: capped
12:30 AM rue_shop1: k
12:30 AM zhanx_workshop_: i am thinking of tapping them
12:30 AM rue_shop1: so, they have any pressure?
12:30 AM rue_shop1: (carefull)
12:30 AM zhanx_workshop_: oh i know careful
12:30 AM rue_shop1: free electric genny
12:30 AM zhanx_workshop_: hose on it the whole time while taking off the cap
12:32 AM rue_shop1: totally plausable it wasn't enough volume for them to bother with and more than enough for you
12:32 AM zhanx_workshop_: very true
12:32 AM zhanx_workshop_: there are 9 wells
12:33 AM rue_shop1: !!!
12:33 AM rue_shop1: can you find them all?
12:33 AM rue_shop1: must have been before directional boring?
12:34 AM zhanx_workshop_: yea they all have pads and pipe
12:35 AM rue_shop1: wow
12:35 AM rue_shop1: anyone come and inspect them?
12:35 AM zhanx_workshop_: not so far they are "shut down"
12:36 AM rue_shop1: that makes sense
12:37 AM rue_shop1: they would have to pay money for saftey inspections, and we know power companies dont do safety
12:37 AM zhanx_workshop_: well not in commiefornia and canada it seems but they do in texas
12:41 AM rue_shop1: hmm
03:33 AM polprog: neat, got a stack of 87c51 micros
03:33 AM polprog: 21x N87c51 , 2x N87c51FB, 1x SC87c51 (phillips)
03:51 AM polprog: minipro reads them fine
03:53 AM polprog: and writes them fine
04:21 AM polprog: mcs51 takes 12 clocks to add to accumulator?
04:22 AM polprog: wtf is it cloud based or what takes so long :D
06:56 AM Tom_L: zhanx_workshop_, you'd think they wouldn't care if you tapped the natural gas. they bleed it off all the time
06:58 AM Tom_L: if you do you should add mercaptan to it for safety
12:14 PM polprog: rue did you notice the led array in the background?
12:14 PM polprog: its 64x8 px
12:14 PM polprog: maybe ill make a clock
12:14 PM polprog: but i already have a bench clock
12:15 PM polprog: maybe ill hook it up to the 8051
12:31 PM rue_mohr: yea, is it from a lotto display?
12:31 PM rue_mohr: doesn't it already have an 8051?
03:14 PM polprog: no, it has some weird MCU
03:14 PM polprog: i just checked it but i shut off the PC and forgot
03:14 PM polprog: the drivers are easy though. im considering removing the MCU and make my own data feeder
03:15 PM polprog: the drivers support grayscale, not sure about the MCU
03:15 PM polprog: plus, unknown protocol and stuff
03:36 PM polprog: heh, so one of the other things i picked is a "UPS Monitor Board", which is a db9 board with only 74-series logic chips
03:36 PM polprog: im pretty sure it can be hacked to do some simple 1 byte port gpio
03:59 PM polprog: its a tad rusty but i could easily draw out the schematic, its two layer dead simple
03:59 PM polprog: 74 series and passives
06:06 PM rue_mohr: I think I'm going led
09:53 PM MoonyMoon: any programmer capable of writing the Microchip serial EEPROM memories, such as the TL866 available at various online stores, is required.
09:53 PM MoonyMoon: rue_mohr: is this just a serial adapter or anything you have?
09:54 PM rue_mohr: serial eeproms can be written by anything
09:54 PM rue_mohr: look for the eep24c package
09:54 PM rue_mohr: in it is a parallel port schematic
09:55 PM Tom_L: are they 12v?
09:55 PM Tom_L: to program
09:56 PM rue_mohr: nope 5V
09:58 PM Tom_L: mounted the estop but not wired yet
11:32 PM MoonyMoon: rue_mohr: Thanks :)
11:49 PM rue_mohr: oh
11:49 PM rue_mohr: hey
11:49 PM rue_mohr: sean just left
11:50 PM rue_mohr: we got some stuff done on the pillars and talked about the world of fake facts
