05:26 AM zhanx_shop: not sure of the spelling
05:26 AM zhanx_shop: but the siactic nerve is killing me
05:27 AM Tom_L: one gets home at 12:30 another gets up at 4 and the one that gets home at 12:30 on fridays does a double shift and gets up at 6 here in a bit then it's time for me to get ready
05:27 AM Tom_L: nerves are painful
05:28 AM zhanx_shop: oh
05:28 AM zhanx_shop: so you know
05:28 AM zhanx_shop: i am working on a solar pump
05:28 AM zhanx_shop: 1 gph
05:28 AM Tom_L: couple years ago i had one between C6 C7 that numbed my whole left side and arm
05:29 AM zhanx_shop: hope to refill the "pond"
05:29 AM Tom_L: probably longer than that now
05:29 AM zhanx_shop: aka 80 foot hole 200 yards long
05:29 AM Tom_L: better now, i didn't want steroids so i saw a chiorpractor for 3-4K worth
05:30 AM Tom_L: that's a hole
05:30 AM Tom_L: gonna stock it if it fills up?
05:30 AM zhanx_shop: quick math for Tom_L 30 foot tower 5" pvc air chamber has how much expansion
05:31 AM zhanx_shop: yes
05:31 AM Tom_L: hope it doesn't dry up again
05:31 AM zhanx_shop: pvc pump will hopefully keep it full
05:32 AM zhanx_shop: might need you to machine a hdpe piston
05:32 AM Tom_L: http://biorealis.com/OMV/files/rampumps/ram.htm
05:32 AM zhanx_shop: gonna print it first
05:33 AM Tom_L: no 5" there
05:33 AM zhanx_shop: 304 well
05:33 AM zhanx_shop: 304' cant do that
05:34 AM zhanx_shop: i can draw to a tank and then ram up and waste to the pond of course
05:37 AM Tom_L: you saw my ghetto keyway cutter?
05:41 AM Tom_L: finding a thick hdpe piece might be a trick. the plastics place near me has lots of sheet but not many thick chunks
05:44 AM Tom_L: 1gph would dry up down there before it collected wouldn't it?
08:35 AM rue_mohr: zhanx_shop, :) good pump
08:35 AM polprog: hi rue_mohr
08:35 AM polprog: that thing on the side, is that a compressor? http://ruemohr.org/~ircjunk/projects/smelter/p1040231.jpg
08:36 AM rue_mohr: 3d printed plastic can be awefull strong
08:36 AM rue_mohr: no its an oil burner
08:36 AM rue_mohr: from a heating furnace
08:37 AM rue_mohr: or you mean the oil pump

08:37 AM rue_mohr: damn thing suddenly siezed on me one day
08:37 AM polprog: the doodad the canister is conencted to with the pipe
08:37 AM rue_mohr: pump
08:37 AM rue_mohr: it uses a high pressure jet
08:38 AM polprog: ok, i was curious what do you power the furnance with
08:38 AM rue_mohr: then it has a bypass that returns to the tank
08:38 AM rue_mohr: that was just 120V and diesel
08:38 AM rue_mohr: now I just use propane
08:39 AM rue_mohr: https://cf-t.com/media/catalog/product/P/P/PPCDTK21EF15W_1.jpg

07:46 PM rue_mohr: sand
07:47 PM Tom_L: rue_mohr, does your lathe tool post accept different size tool blanks?
07:47 PM rue_mohr: yup
07:47 PM Tom_L: how big?
07:47 PM rue_mohr: up to about 3/8 or half inch I think
07:48 PM rue_mohr: half inch might be the "it fits, but its too big"
07:48 PM Tom_L: can you take a pic of the side so i can decide how to make one for this mill application
07:48 PM Tom_L: i pretty much know what they look like
07:48 PM rue_mohr: ok...
07:48 PM Tom_L: just thought it might give me some different ideas
07:49 PM rue_mohr: give me a few min to vegitate
07:49 PM Tom_L: i got tool blanks from 1/8" up to 3/8 and maybe 1/2
07:50 PM Tom_L: well beside the big 3/4 or 1" ones
07:54 PM Tom_L: my lathe doesn't have a conventional tool post so it's not much help
09:53 PM rue_mohr: ok I'm alive!
09:56 PM rue_mohr: Tom_L, 17mm deep x 17mm tall

10:01 PM rue_mohr: tom ^
10:06 PM Tom_L: thanks
10:07 PM Tom_L: do you put a plate on top of the tool steel to clamp?
10:08 PM Tom_L: i think on mine i need a backer screw so the tool can't push back in the holder due to the way i'm cutting
10:09 PM Tom_L: what's the fancy board?
10:11 PM rue_mohr: no, those soft screws cant do nothing to the hss
10:12 PM Tom_L: my cutter is pretty thin though, it may need more support
10:12 PM rue_mohr: its a finite state machine that uses a "programmed" led array for its rom
10:12 PM Tom_L: some are only 1/8" square
10:12 PM Tom_L: smallest ones
10:12 PM rue_mohr: I programmed out some leds with a >1A current source
