12:20 AM rue_mohr: aliexpress is spotty
12:26 AM rue_mohr: some things are getting in
01:33 AM rue_bed2: 1212
05:41 AM polprog: apparently the explosion was started by sparks from welding
05:54 AM polprog: i think i might have unpacked the floppy images wrong, maybe winrar overwrote this and that while unpacking
05:55 AM polprog: ill try that again
08:34 AM rue_mohr: fire
08:34 AM rue_mohr: probably the weldering started the fire
08:35 AM rue_mohr: polprog, you need a special flag for rars to make it to the directories too, so it wont dump everything in one spot over itself
11:00 AM polprog: i mean, i had 3 floppies ripped as rars, and i selected all 3, extracted with winrar and it might have overwritten this and that (it extracted them into one directory
11:00 AM polprog: i wish they would just distribute floppy image files, it would save me the winxp shenanigans to move it to the dos machine
11:03 AM polprog: i could just mount them directly
09:21 PM rue_mohr: without the special flag it will pile everything into one directory, overtop of itself
09:32 PM Tom_L: grub screws don't hold the spindle pulleys very well
09:32 PM Tom_L: took them apart and cleaned the pulleys off a bit
09:33 PM Tom_L: no room for a key etc
09:36 PM rue_mohr: hmm
09:36 PM rue_mohr: I have to go repot some trees
09:44 PM Tom_L: stock sherline motor shaft is 5/16" and the one i'm looking at is 14mm
09:45 PM Tom_L: little more than 1/2"?
09:46 PM Tom_L: that's a jump in size
10:28 PM rue_shop1: I think I got them all
10:29 PM rue_shop1: units 14mm inch
10:29 PM rue_shop1: * 0.5511811
10:29 PM rue_shop1: INSTALL UNITS
10:29 PM rue_shop1: :/
10:30 PM rue_shop1: 8:30 I have an hour left to live
10:31 PM Tom_L: so i could get 2 14mm and bore one out to 9/16 for the spindle
10:31 PM Tom_L: looking at HTD series on ali
10:32 PM Tom_L: but i don't see any with flanges
10:32 PM Tom_L: i suppose that's not a big deal
10:32 PM Tom_L: i wonder how hard it would be to cut a 5mm key in one
10:48 PM rue_mohr: well you just bought key cutting hardware
10:49 PM Tom_L: yeah but i need something like a straight lathe tool blank to cut it
10:49 PM Tom_L: and a way to hold it without turning
10:49 PM rue_mohr: uh, saw and rotary axis?
10:50 PM Tom_L: inside the 14mm bore?
10:50 PM rue_mohr: er
10:50 PM rue_mohr: you want an inside key!
10:50 PM rue_mohr: ever worked with drillrod?
10:50 PM Tom_L: yeah that shaft already has a 5mm key
10:50 PM Tom_L: yes
10:50 PM rue_mohr: make a keyway thing
10:50 PM Tom_L: how to hold it without turning though
10:51 PM rue_mohr: with the teeth and you push it thru
10:51 PM Tom_L: i know
10:51 PM rue_mohr: you just pull the cutter thru
10:51 PM Tom_L: like a broach
10:51 PM rue_mohr: -----------------------IL---
10:51 PM rue_mohr: --- cutter
10:51 PM rue_mohr: I workpiece
10:51 PM rue_mohr: L bracket to hold against
10:52 PM rue_mohr: >>> pull thru
10:52 PM Tom_L: not sure whether the lathe or mill would work better for that
10:53 PM Tom_L: i could hold the tool sideways in the tool post on the lathe and cut it in the backside of the bore with the spindle locked
10:54 PM Tom_L: i could order it from china with a 5mm key
10:54 PM Tom_L: trying to figure that out right now
10:56 PM Tom_L: i had a .8:1 reduction on the current pulleys
10:56 PM Tom_L: i could probably just go 1:1 with the new motor
