12:00 AM rue_shop2: you have most of what you need already, just put it togethor
12:06 AM rue_shop2: that seems like a distraction
12:06 AM rue_shop2: and air muscles
12:06 AM rue_shop2: its been sitting on the table for god-knows-how-long
12:06 AM rue_shop2: yea
12:06 AM rue_shop2: it would help if I could concentrate
12:06 AM rue_shop2: if I had a self-operating income I wouldn't have to spend time working
12:06 AM rue_shop2: and since when has that made you more productive
12:06 AM rue_shop2: hmm, so I need to know the ideal duty cycle
12:06 AM rue_shop2: and cut down on repeditive maintenance
12:07 AM rue_shop2: thoght it was the web browsers...
12:07 AM rue_shop2: hopefully not another dieing drive
12:07 AM rue_shop2: how many would that be now?
12:08 AM rue_shop2: about 5?
12:08 AM rue_shop2: does it have the ssd?
12:08 AM rue_shop2: I dont think so
12:15 AM rue_shop2: strange
12:15 AM rue_shop2: energy storage, processor, and suit
12:15 AM rue_shop2: is the aluminum for the energy storage
12:15 AM rue_shop2: you do need to get better at power converters
12:15 AM rue_shop2: hmm
03:51 AM * Tom_L reads rue_shop2's monologue
03:51 AM Tom_L: ... can't sleep
03:52 AM polprog: just woke up
03:57 AM polprog: hmm, noone read the thyristor osc page
03:57 AM polprog: whatever, it wont go away. its linked on the frontpage
03:57 AM Tom_L: i did
03:57 AM Tom_L: just didn't say i did
04:02 AM polprog: thanks
04:02 AM polprog: i was thinking about the twitter post, no activity on that
04:02 AM polprog: except rue's
04:02 AM Tom_L: irc isn't what it was
04:03 AM polprog: i guess so
04:04 AM polprog: reading old quotes paints a more casual picrure of it
04:04 AM Tom_L: not near the activity or collaboration
04:04 AM polprog: there are some channels like that, still
04:04 AM rue_mohr: how did I miss the osc page?
04:04 AM polprog: that too
04:05 AM polprog: rue_mohr: its mostly the ircjunk one with some layout edits
04:05 AM polprog: i want to make one that puts together some of the oscillators i made
04:27 AM rue_mohr: heh
09:58 AM polprog: https://polprog.net/rozne1/ircjunk/various/cobol_helloworld.PNG
09:58 AM polprog: https://polprog.net/rozne1/ircjunk/various/cobol_helloworld_source.PNG
10:59 AM Tom_L: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9DwqN1pEkVg
10:59 AM Tom_L: rue
11:30 AM rue_bed2: polprog, heh, why cobol?
11:31 AM rue_bed2: Tom_L, maybe, I still like the cycloidal one
11:31 AM Tom_L: rue_bed2, ever hear that saying ' the south shall rise again' ?
11:31 AM Tom_L: that's why
11:32 AM rue_bed2: ooh the top peice is the same tooth count as the belt
11:32 AM rue_bed2: do he doesn't need to distort it
11:34 AM rue_bed2: nice video
11:35 AM rue_bed2: the harmonic drives that I'v seen designs for, require a distortable geared cup
11:35 AM rue_bed2: that is the output
11:35 AM Tom_L: yeah
11:35 AM rue_bed2: so, you get a geared cup thats always being mechanically worked
11:36 AM rue_bed2: and fatiegues out
11:36 AM rue_bed2: so, so thats interesting
11:36 AM rue_bed2: finding wide belts like that can be a challange tho
11:36 AM rue_bed2: hmm
11:36 AM rue_bed2: good find
11:36 AM Tom_L: it's doable
11:37 AM rue_bed2: yup
11:50 AM polprog: rue_bed2: out of curiosity heh
11:51 AM polprog: maybe ill beat your 386 lawnmower with a system/360 lawnmower
11:52 AM polprog: :^)
02:58 PM rue_shop1: heh
06:57 PM Tom_L: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mpzqdqLd-o0
09:53 PM rue_shop2: from what I can tell, something horrid is going on with the jukebox
09:53 PM rue_shop2: the network cable seems to be fine
09:53 PM rue_shop2: there are no packet errors showing on the managed switch OR the jukebox
09:54 PM rue_shop2: and there is a 50% packet drop rate
09:54 PM rue_shop2: erp, 100% now
10:05 PM Tom_L: hdd going south?
11:06 PM rue_shop1: no
11:06 PM rue_shop1: the network chip?
11:06 PM rue_shop1: I changed the motherboard and its cured
11:06 PM rue_shop1: ??
11:07 PM Tom_L: onboard ethernet?
11:07 PM rue_shop1: the other motherboard had stability problems right out of the gate
11:07 PM rue_shop1: yup
11:07 PM rue_shop1: micro itx
11:07 PM Tom_L: ahh
11:07 PM rue_shop1: I checked over the capacitors, no issues found
11:07 PM rue_shop1: so must be a chip
11:07 PM Tom_L: use a rpi for your tunes
11:07 PM rue_shop1: no
11:08 PM rue_shop1: the network system was down to 50% packaet loss
11:08 PM rue_shop1: so clicking a simple url was taking like 2 minutes for the tcp to push thru
11:08 PM rue_shop1: I have a box of these itx boards
11:08 PM rue_shop1: so I just grabbed the next one
11:09 PM rue_shop1: rpi is too expensive given what I have on hand
11:09 PM Tom_L: true
11:09 PM rue_shop1: I bumped it from 256M to 512M ram
11:09 PM rue_shop1: I was trying to go for 1G, but it wouldn't have it
11:09 PM rue_shop1: rejected every 512M module
11:11 PM rue_shop1: I hope thats the last of the problems with the jukebox for a long time, the P100 I was using before this lasted over 15 years before I changed it up
11:11 PM rue_shop1: it retired working, fine
11:11 PM rue_shop1: it was just a bit slow
11:11 PM rue_shop1: songs coughed if you did more than one file transfer at a time while it was playing
11:13 PM rue_shop1: the managed network switch I put in the shop was helpfull for that tho
11:13 PM rue_shop1: I could see that it wasn't the cable
11:15 PM rue_shop1: I'll give it some time and make sure issues dont come up with the new board
11:15 PM rue_shop1: I'm having a number of things disintegrate on me
11:15 PM rue_shop1: I still have to fix the phone I'm using as an mp3 player in the work van
11:15 PM rue_shop1: looks like the SD just died
11:16 PM rue_shop1: *poof*
11:16 PM rue_shop1: luckily, I have to redo it so much I have a backup of the whole card 1:1
11:17 PM rue_shop1: KiB Mem: 506188 total, 75140 used, 431048 free, 7128 buffers
11:17 PM rue_shop1: KiB Swap: 0 total, 0 used, 0 free, 46796 cached
11:17 PM rue_shop1: heh
11:17 PM rue_shop1: its not even filled its file cache
11:18 PM rue_shop1: I have a chipper on loan
11:18 PM rue_shop1: kinda
11:19 PM rue_shop1: the guy said he didn't want it back last time I asked
11:19 PM rue_shop1: so, I had 3 tress taken down last week
11:19 PM rue_shop1: pulled the chipper out and it was siezed
11:19 PM rue_shop1: freed that up
11:19 PM rue_shop1: ignition issues, redid the timing
11:19 PM rue_shop1: then it was flooding, fixed up the float
11:19 PM rue_shop1: runs great
11:19 PM rue_shop1: noisy as hell
11:20 PM rue_shop1: chipped a bunch of branches
11:20 PM rue_shop1: will do more tommorow
11:21 PM rue_shop1: MoonyMoon, jukebox is fixed
11:21 PM rue_shop1: :P
11:22 PM Tom_L: bring the chipper by here, i could use it

11:43 PM rue_mohr: with my truck
11:44 PM rue_mohr: wait, your country is in lockdonw
