01:08 AM rue_mohr: how about making a program to generate the params based on other input
06:43 AM Tom_itx is now known as Tom_L
06:45 AM Tom_L: i might take a stab at rewriting it once i get this one right
09:45 AM rue_mohr: I wonder how many washes a sock is good for
11:21 AM Tom_L: until the sock monster eats one
11:35 AM aandrew: that is the correct answer
11:35 AM aandrew: the sock monster will call it back into the fold when the time is right
12:42 PM Tom_L: then you'll have 2 mimatched matching pairs or more
01:26 PM aandrew: I've given up trying to match pairs. I found a style of black dress socks at Costco that I like and buy ONLY those. no more mismatched pairs
01:27 PM polprog: the sock monster is nondeterministic
01:27 PM aandrew: did the same kind of thing for underwear. threw out all my old ones and bought a dozen pairs of one specific kind at Mark's. Now I have no issues because they all fit the same way and wear about the same
01:29 PM polprog: now everyone thinks you never change underwear ;)
01:47 PM Tom_L: long as you turn them inside out, they're good for a couple days
05:30 PM aandrew: polprog: the number of people interested in my underwear lies between 0 and 2
05:41 PM rue_shop1: ARG
05:41 PM rue_shop1: the capacitors I ordered for this thing that needs to be fiexea iare wrong
05:41 PM rue_shop1: ksdjafksajkl;sadjfk and I'm melting
05:58 PM Tom_L: hot out?
05:58 PM Tom_L: does it even get hot up there?
05:59 PM rue_shop2: sure, its like 27 today
05:59 PM Tom_L: that's mild
05:59 PM Tom_L: it's your winters i'd hate
06:02 PM Tom_L: the gear macro is less than perfect but i think i've gone as far as i'm going with it
06:03 PM rue_shop2: in australia
06:03 PM rue_shop2: winter "almost gets down to freezing!"
06:03 PM rue_shop2: ;)

06:14 PM rue_shop2: make up a stepper driven one
06:14 PM Tom_L: naw
06:15 PM Tom_L: if i had cad cam to drive it i might
06:15 PM rue_shop2: dont you have a geared stepper spare kicking around still?
06:15 PM Tom_L: not geared but steppers yes
06:15 PM rue_shop2: you can arduino drive a stepper if you want
06:15 PM Tom_L: wouldn't have to be geared
06:15 PM rue_shop2: huh, thought you had a nice greared oen you didn't use
06:15 PM Tom_L: no not geared
