01:51 AM zhanx: Well they are tiny next time use a. Fish hook eye
01:51 AM rue_mohr: wire wrapping the power conenctions for the project with 24awg
01:51 AM zhanx: That looks epic
01:51 AM rue_mohr: zhanx, you need to tell me more about that trick
01:51 AM rue_mohr: the wire-wrapping goes really fast!
01:52 AM zhanx: Fish hook eye for a #4 hook is 1mm. I use forceps to hold it
01:53 AM zhanx: It's like a quick and dirty tool
01:53 AM zhanx: But now you have one
01:54 AM zhanx: I also use forceps for tying knots for fishing
03:01 AM rue_mohr: :/ only 1am and I'm exhausted
03:01 AM rue_mohr: I have to make the front panel for this thing to get much farther
03:03 AM zhanx: I was on the pier fishing
03:03 AM zhanx: Fishing or aka losing bait
03:06 AM rue_mohr: feeding the fish
03:06 AM rue_mohr: and sometimes they feed you back
03:12 AM zhanx: True
03:23 AM rue_mohr: are these protests I'm hearing about in the usa?

01:05 PM rue_mohr: maybe I can find it next time
01:10 PM Tom_L: write a 'tell' funciton for the bot
01:44 PM rue_mohr: hmm
01:44 PM rue_mohr: looking like another horrid weather day...
03:18 PM Tom_L: nice n sunny here
03:26 PM rue_mohr: yea, it cleared up here
03:27 PM rue_mohr: pondering melting down some drives
03:27 PM rue_mohr: but I have nothing to cast
05:50 PM zhanx_ is now known as zhanx
05:53 PM Tom_L: rue_mohr, i had to finish it: http://tom-itx.no-ip.biz:81/~webpage/cnc/Snapper/Knob4.jpg
05:53 PM Tom_L: http://tom-itx.no-ip.biz:81/~webpage/cnc/Snapper/Knob5.jpg
06:22 PM rue_shop2: yup, looks great
06:22 PM rue_shop2: how long to the threads take to work out?
07:17 PM Tom_L: i have a macro for that
07:17 PM Tom_L: just input the numbers
07:20 PM Tom_L: http://tom-itx.no-ip.biz:81/~webpage/cnc/Smartcam/ThreadMill_Both.mcl
07:20 PM Tom_L: input parameters at the top
07:39 PM MoonyMoon: rue_bed: can you give me an lspci of the computer in "TheRoom"
07:39 PM rue_mohr: ok
07:39 PM rue_mohr: give me time
07:39 PM MoonyMoon: ok
07:39 PM MoonyMoon: only bother if its pciExpress
07:40 PM Tom_L: 'TheRoom' top secret?
07:40 PM MoonyMoon: yes ;)
07:40 PM Tom_L: of course it is...
07:41 PM MoonyMoon: thats how we roll in The fright zone
07:48 PM rue_mohr: 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: NVIDIA Corporation G86 [Quadro NVS 290] (rev a1)
08:24 PM Tom_L: on a .257 diameter draw a 90deg V from the edge, how much deeper is the point?
08:24 PM rue_mohr: 0
08:25 PM rue_mohr: or is my geometry out
08:25 PM Tom_L: it needs to be deeper. like a drill point
08:27 PM rue_mohr: no, i'm right
08:27 PM rue_mohr: unless I'm not understanding you right
08:27 PM rue_mohr: tangent?
08:28 PM Tom_L: the top of the V is .257, with a 45 deg V how deep is the V
08:28 PM rue_mohr: if its from the tangents
08:28 PM rue_mohr: 0.257/2
08:29 PM rue_mohr: ||
08:29 PM rue_mohr: ------ 0
08:29 PM rue_mohr: \/
08:29 PM rue_mohr: ------ -0.257/2
08:30 PM Tom_L: the answer is .1285
08:30 PM rue_mohr: zippo:/files/graphics/pictures/2020/temp/twitvid# calc 0.257/2
08:30 PM rue_mohr: 0.257/2 -->> 0.1285
08:31 PM Tom_L: i forgot why i needed it now :(
08:31 PM Tom_L: oh
08:31 PM Tom_L: to pre' chamfer a tapped hole
08:32 PM Tom_L: so at .1285 there is no chamfer, from there i go maybe .020 - .025" deeper
08:33 PM Tom_L: yeah, that's worth a try
09:03 PM MoonyMoon: rue_mohr: Thanks :)
11:02 PM aandrew: balls, the boxer bots don't talk BLE. the app sense near ultrasonics
11:02 PM aandrew: one-way comms
11:03 PM aandrew: https://imgur.com/a/j7Y5NvH the boards are very nicely arranged though, and the wheel assemblies are really nifty
11:03 PM aandrew: these bots can jump, hop up on two wheels and even (usually) right themselves if tipped over
11:04 PM aandrew: the debug interface (SWD) is even available and identified
11:04 PM aandrew: can't find the doc I made when I scanned it the last time I had it open
11:13 PM aandrew: ahh yes, there it is: https://pastebin.com/g4nYibQL
11:13 PM rue_mohr: boxer?
11:14 PM aandrew: just a little cortex M0 in there under one of those COB blobs. there's a SPI flash in there too
11:14 PM rue_mohr: quite labeled!
11:15 PM aandrew: yeah: https://www.amazon.ca/Boxer-20104696-Interactive-Personality-Emotions/dp/B079S54GW9
11:15 PM aandrew: I got these for $17 a while back, haven't seen them near that low on camelcamelcamel but they do go down to the 50s
11:15 PM rue_mohr: huh
11:16 PM aandrew: when i worked on the MIP at wowwee they intentionally label everything because they want kids to tinker
11:17 PM aandrew: there's a much cheaper version of these (boxer novie) but they're way less interesting
11:17 PM rue_mohr: wow, twitter is strange, I'm getting a lot mroe replys than normal
11:21 PM aandrew: I'm pretty sure teh CM0 is flashless and it runs entirely out of SPI flash
11:29 PM rue_mohr: I wonder if thats what in the blood checkers I got
11:30 PM rue_mohr: there is a serial screen and memory
11:30 PM rue_mohr: I logged the bus to see how to work the screen, but there is SO MUCH memory traffic its hard to find the screen stuff
