01:33 AM rue_bed: this thing is discharged by resistor
01:33 AM rue_bed: the cathode going low enough makes the gates "static" voltage high enough to trip the scr, which continues to conduct untill the current drops too much
01:34 AM rue_bed: its, of course charging a cap, so at some point the differential voltage between the supply and the cap isn't sufficient to maintain the current
