09:18 AM MoonY2: let sleeping rues lie?
09:23 AM MoonY2: ly?
09:23 AM MoonY2: i can't spell worth a fart
10:44 AM Tom_L: MoonY2, http://www.whitesmoke.com/lay-v-lie
11:26 AM rue_shop1: hmm, fileserver is having issues
11:26 AM rue_shop1: morning
12:45 PM MoonY2: Tom_L , thanks :)
01:19 PM rue_shop1: 15%
01:19 PM rue_shop1: a/b = 0.15
01:19 PM rue_shop1: a =1
01:20 PM rue_shop1: so 1 unit and 6.67 units
04:13 PM MoonY2: what?
04:45 PM Tom_L: those are rue units
06:26 PM rue_mohr: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/EB-EaxaU0AAS_HH?format=jpg&name=small
06:30 PM Tom_L: plug it in just like that
07:41 PM rue_mohr: heh, I'm setting up to help someone
07:41 PM rue_mohr: I want to cast a scoup, not because I need a scoup, but becasue of the way its cast
07:42 PM rue_mohr: I'm totally off track tho
07:42 PM Tom_L: how so?
07:42 PM rue_mohr: the casting thing was to make the plate for the vacuum thing
07:42 PM Tom_L: pics?
07:42 PM rue_mohr: I'm supposed to make a second for the sanding disc, which isn't related
07:43 PM rue_mohr: http://ruemohr.org/~ircjunk/projects/vacuumplate/p1130325.jpg
07:43 PM rue_mohr: http://ruemohr.org/~ircjunk/projects/vacuumplate/slide.htm <- the story
07:43 PM Tom_L: i know about that
07:43 PM rue_mohr: to make the plate I needed a new flask, better casting sand (and more of it) and the template
07:44 PM rue_mohr: fixed the pot a bunch of times, and reinsulated the smelter
07:44 PM Tom_L: need a good pot
07:44 PM Tom_L: smelter seems good now
07:44 PM rue_mohr: I need another one for the disc sander and something else I cant remember
07:45 PM rue_mohr: but I got distracted and wanted better alignment things for the flask, so I tried out the new casting technique on that (and made mroe casting sand)
07:45 PM rue_mohr: http://ruemohr.org/~ircjunk/projects/smelter/slide.htm
07:45 PM rue_mohr: I made 5 mroe
07:45 PM rue_mohr: ...
07:45 PM rue_mohr: http://ruemohr.org/~ircjunk/projects/smelter/p1130355.jpg
07:45 PM rue_mohr: I made 5 more of those today
07:46 PM Tom_L: what are they for?
07:46 PM rue_mohr: casue one of the gates closed up in the mold, otherwise it would have been 6
07:46 PM rue_mohr: they are to replace the alignment pin things on the flask
07:46 PM Tom_L: fancy club
07:46 PM rue_mohr: I need to be able to remove the pins
07:46 PM rue_mohr: its a ram for doing the castings
07:46 PM Tom_L: i know
07:47 PM rue_mohr: http://ruemohr.org/~ircjunk/projects/smelter/p1060669.jpg
07:47 PM Tom_L: clean the wood out of your lathe good
07:47 PM rue_mohr: see the flask in the backgroud, I used wood blocks for that one
07:48 PM rue_mohr: lathe, yea! dont want to start a fire next time I do metal
07:48 PM Tom_L: seems you're getting the hang of it
07:49 PM rue_mohr: wow, aslmost no pictures of the flasks
07:49 PM rue_mohr: ...
07:49 PM rue_mohr: fix that...
07:50 PM rue_mohr: I'm exhausted and have a headache, but I REALLY want to be doing stuff!
07:55 PM rue_mohr: ruemohr.org/~ircjunk/projects/smelter/
07:55 PM rue_mohr: images added
07:55 PM Tom_L: slideshow doesn't see em?
07:56 PM rue_mohr: have to hit refresh
07:56 PM rue_mohr: browser is cashing the image file
07:57 PM rue_mohr: http://ruemohr.org/~ircjunk/projects/smelter/p1130367.jpg
07:57 PM rue_mohr: there is the new large flask
07:57 PM rue_mohr: http://ruemohr.org/~ircjunk/projects/smelter/p1130368.jpg fix position pin on one end
07:57 PM Tom_L: yeah saw that
07:58 PM rue_mohr: http://ruemohr.org/~ircjunk/projects/smelter/p1130369.jpg allowance on the other
07:58 PM rue_mohr: http://ruemohr.org/~ircjunk/projects/smelter/p1130370.jpg so, the old flask is smaller, but same deal
07:58 PM Tom_L: could have used wood pegs in the box itself
07:58 PM rue_mohr: the angle iron gets changed out/whatever for those new things
07:58 PM rue_mohr: yes and no
07:59 PM rue_mohr: I like follower templates
07:59 PM Tom_L: you need it held together
07:59 PM rue_mohr: and you want to keep the hole pattern simple for that
08:00 PM rue_mohr: http://ruemohr.org/~ircjunk/projects/vacuumplate/p1130217.jpg
08:00 PM rue_mohr: the follower template fits between the halves
08:00 PM rue_mohr: that one should have all the gates and stuff on it too
08:00 PM rue_mohr: still learning :)
08:02 PM rue_mohr: I realized today that the flasks lack a bit of rigidity, which may contribute to them falling out on me
08:02 PM rue_mohr: there is a thing called a ...
08:02 PM rue_mohr: gagger, that is used to help make sure the sand stays in the cope,
08:02 PM rue_mohr: still learning
08:03 PM rue_mohr: I need to rename slide.htm to something that makes it come up on the top of the list
08:05 PM Tom_L: aaa
08:05 PM rue_mohr: hahah
08:06 PM Tom_L: ok i lost an asm file
08:06 PM rue_mohr: want to leave it browsable, so not index
08:06 PM Tom_L: reboot.com because i renamed it from boot.asm
08:06 PM rue_mohr: what was the asm for
08:06 PM Tom_L: ROM_BIOS_DATA SEGMENT AT 40H ; BIOS & KEYBOARD BUFFER
08:06 PM Tom_L: ORG 72h
08:06 PM Tom_L: Reset DW ?
08:06 PM Tom_L: ROM_BIOS_DATA ENDS
08:06 PM Tom_L: BIOS SEGMENT AT 0FFFFH ; DUMMY SEG FOR ES:SEGMENT
08:06 PM Tom_L: ORG 0H
08:06 PM Tom_L: BOOT LABEL FAR
08:06 PM Tom_L: BIOS ENDS
08:06 PM Tom_L: Code_seg segment para public
08:06 PM Tom_L: ORG 100h
08:06 PM Tom_L: assume cs:code_seg, ds:code_seg
08:07 PM Tom_L: reboot:
08:07 PM rue_mohr: /files/backup/pixel/compile/reboot.asm
08:07 PM rue_mohr: ; reboot.asm
08:07 PM rue_mohr: ideal
08:07 PM rue_mohr: model tiny
08:07 PM rue_mohr: codeseg
08:07 PM rue_mohr: org 100h
08:07 PM rue_mohr: start:
08:07 PM rue_mohr: int 19h
08:07 PM rue_mohr: end start
08:08 PM Tom_L: that uses a bios call though
08:08 PM rue_mohr: yea
08:08 PM rue_mohr: so?
08:08 PM Tom_L: you cheated with int19
08:08 PM rue_mohr: yup
08:09 PM rue_mohr: whats cool is that I found the source that fast
08:09 PM rue_mohr: :)
08:09 PM Tom_L: anyway i was looking for something entirely different
08:09 PM Tom_L: a keyboard stuffer
08:09 PM Tom_L: i automate quicken with it
08:09 PM rue_mohr: ah
08:09 PM rue_mohr: how multitasking?
08:09 PM Tom_L: record all the keystrokes and play them back
08:09 PM rue_mohr: aah
08:10 PM rue_mohr: macro
08:10 PM Tom_L: asm
08:10 PM rue_mohr: yea
08:10 PM Tom_L: the old quicken came with directions how to format their files
08:10 PM Tom_L: now you just use a csv file or something
08:10 PM rue_mohr: but a bandaid for getting macro like action
08:11 PM Tom_L: i imported with categories and sub categories etc
08:11 PM Tom_L: all formatted just like you would enter them
08:11 PM rue_mohr: k
08:11 PM Tom_L: just looking over old code
08:13 PM Tom_L: one captured a serial port, saved it and sent it out another port transparent
08:13 PM rue_mohr: k
08:13 PM Tom_L: would do either side or both
08:13 PM Tom_L: for debugging mostly
08:13 PM rue_mohr: yup
08:16 PM Tom_L: nobody writes asm anymore
08:26 PM rue_mohr: ....
08:26 PM rue_mohr: thinking about the last time I did...
08:26 PM rue_mohr: it WAS a while ago
08:27 PM Tom_L: 90's for me
08:27 PM Tom_L: approx
08:27 PM Tom_L: pc's are too bloaded with memory and hdd now
08:29 PM Tom_L: i used to have laminated cards with all the asm instructions
09:10 PM Tom_L: hear from kat anymore?
09:28 PM rue_mohr: not i
09:28 PM rue_mohr: set/poured one of the steel posts for the driveway pillars just not
09:28 PM rue_mohr: now
09:28 PM rue_mohr: need to let it set up a bit and get my name in it
09:31 PM Tom_L: driveway pillars?
09:31 PM Tom_L: what you makin now?
09:52 PM rue_shop1: I need a thing to tell me if someone came in to visit
09:52 PM rue_shop1: lots of times people come by, cant find me, and leave
09:52 PM rue_shop1: I got the parts for a breakbeam
09:53 PM rue_shop1: making pillars to install them on, but they will also be driveway markers
09:53 PM rue_shop1: incase one of the clumbsy visitors I have bumps it with a car, I'm running a steel post down the middle
09:53 PM rue_shop1: set in concrete to a reasonable depth
09:54 PM rue_shop1: (about 24")
09:58 PM rue_mohr: http://ruemohr.org/~ircjunk/tempimage/p1130373.jpg
09:58 PM rue_mohr: http://ruemohr.org/~ircjunk/tempimage/p1130374.jpg
10:00 PM Tom_L: i stuck my mailbox on a 4" thickwall pipe sunk 2' down as well
10:00 PM Tom_L: didn't want the 'wind' to blow it over
