12:11 AM Tom_L: great
01:01 AM rue_mohr: z left NY and all the power went out
01:06 AM rue_mohr: its just another day here if the power goes out.
01:07 AM rue_mohr: but man, you should have seen the day the cell service went out, THAT was halarious
01:07 AM rue_mohr: everyone walking around holding their phones up, trying to find some reception
10:44 AM Tom_itx: project updates?
10:44 AM Tom_itx is now known as Tom_L
11:36 AM rue_bed2: 3d printer is still being adjusted
11:37 AM rue_bed2: did some garage sale-n, picked up some books on refrigeration and motor repair
11:37 AM rue_bed2: striped circuit boards, not sure why
11:38 AM rue_bed2: made an adapter collar from 5/8" to ..... 7/8" for the compressor motor
11:39 AM rue_bed2: have a small router to use for the 4'x8' cnc
11:39 AM rue_bed2: and realized I have a hydraulic hand pump I can use to hydrotest the 1979 compressor tank
11:40 AM rue_bed2: so I need to find some plugs and a bomb shelter
11:41 AM rue_bed2: 450psi
11:41 AM rue_bed2: (for how long?)
12:30 PM Tom_L: til she blows?
12:30 PM rue_mohr: hydro test
12:31 PM rue_mohr: its like 10 mins you let it sit or soemthing
12:31 PM rue_mohr: if the pressure falls by ------ or ----- then it fails...
12:31 PM Tom_L: i worked at a place eons ago that did tank pressure tests
12:33 PM Tom_L: pretty much immobile here
12:34 PM Tom_L: everything from the basement is in the garage. can't get to anything
12:36 PM rue_mohr: :/
12:37 PM rue_mohr: hows the basement repair going?
12:38 PM Tom_L: at a standstill until it dries
12:38 PM Tom_L: i did put in a water heater
03:45 PM rue_mohr: do you have fans and dehumidifers going?
04:06 PM Tom_L: 8 air movers and 1 large dehumidifier
04:49 PM rue_shop1: cnc machine
04:49 PM rue_shop1: the 4'x8' one, that needs to be my focus
04:49 PM rue_shop1: I need to make X trucks for it
04:50 PM rue_shop1: I'm not sure if I should go full grab on both or one grab and one ref
04:53 PM Tom_L: depends how well you can align them
04:57 PM rue_shop1: their 4' apart
04:58 PM rue_shop1: I think the lack of sufficient regidity makes it not matter
04:58 PM rue_shop1: if it was a cast iron bridge it would
04:58 PM rue_shop1: if I'm 1/8" out, I dont think it would know the difference
04:58 PM Tom_L: you _do_ have a smelter
04:59 PM rue_shop1: I cant cast a 48inch CNC bridge
04:59 PM Tom_L: :/
05:00 PM rue_shop1: tho I realized that having this 4'x8' cnc will allow me to make some pretty wickid forms
05:23 PM rue_shop1: ok I'v found two fence pipes that seem pretty straight
05:23 PM rue_shop1: and are more than 8' long
05:25 PM rue_shop1: I can get 9.5' out of them
05:25 PM rue_shop1: so the trucks can be 18" long
05:28 PM rue_shop1: oops
05:28 PM rue_shop1: no I'm good
05:29 PM rue_shop1: the y rails are 5' and the carriage is 7.5" gives me 4.5" of room
09:39 PM zhanx: Evening
09:49 PM Tom_L: hey
09:54 PM zhanx: what you working on?
09:55 PM Tom_L: not much right now
09:55 PM Tom_L: just waiting
09:55 PM Tom_L: basement contents in the garage so i can't get to much
09:56 PM Tom_L: tested an RTAI patch for linuxcnc
09:56 PM Tom_L: that's about it
09:58 PM Tom_L: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PqXEFe4NIW4
09:58 PM Tom_L: thought that was kinda cool
09:58 PM Tom_L: hard to believe it's been 50 years
10:08 PM zhanx: cooking dinner myself
10:19 PM Tom_L: what's for dinner?

10:25 PM Tom_L: sounds good
