12:09 AM rue_mohr: hi
12:14 AM rue_mohr: yea, pretty good CG eh?
12:14 AM rue_mohr: there is a real one tho
12:14 AM rue_mohr: its funny tho, the return on investment for a tracking system is not worth it
08:17 PM Tom_L: too quiet
08:23 PM rue_mohr: out of milk
08:23 PM rue_mohr: gtg shopping
08:24 PM rue_mohr: have to find out when this last happened, should be 1 week ago
08:24 PM rue_mohr: think it was only 4 days
08:25 PM Tom_L: get extra
10:03 PM rue_shop1: no I shouldn't be going thru more than 4L/week
10:06 PM Tom_L: who says?
10:07 PM Tom_L: i've determined my lathe is nearly worn out
10:08 PM Tom_L: too much play in the spindle to hold the tolerances i want
10:16 PM rue_shop1: hmm
10:16 PM rue_shop1: spindle of chuck?
10:16 PM rue_shop1: or
10:18 PM Tom_L: i think it's got babbit bearings and they're about worn out
10:19 PM Tom_L: tried to make an adapter so i can use 1/8" endmills with a collet instead of the sherline mill holders
10:19 PM Tom_L: it's got some runout but might be able to work
10:20 PM Tom_L: the reason i've been breaking so many 1/8" cutters is the grub screw
10:20 PM Tom_L: the other cutters are bigger and stronger so they don't snap at the screw
10:21 PM Tom_L: http://tom-itx.no-ip.biz:81/~webpage/cnc/valenite/valenite_holder1.jpg
10:21 PM Tom_L: had to use that sherline part for one of the threadmills (bored it out to 5/8)
10:22 PM Tom_L: and tried to make one to replace it from a blank
10:23 PM Tom_L: i was using that holder for a center drill but it dawned on me to use it for the endmills and maybe i won't snap so many
10:24 PM Tom_L: it just sticks out more than i'd like
11:38 PM Tom_L: only other thing i know to try would be to put one in the spindle and try to drill it on the mill holding the drill instead of the part
11:38 PM Tom_L: not sure i could get it aligned that way either
