03:28 AM rue_bed: red arrow points to the slot
05:12 AM Tom_L: ahh, slot for the spray lever
05:13 AM Tom_L: what you need is a 'hole' slot in the side of your vise jaw then you can just machine it with the cnc holding the tube from the side of the vise with the top of the tube level with the vise jaw
05:14 AM Tom_L: the 'hole' would go only partway in the jaws so you would have a 'stop' for the tube so they are consistent
05:17 AM Tom_L: you could print one along with that other jig i drew for the part with the slot in it as well
05:17 AM Tom_L: i could write the gcode so it gets centered if needed
05:18 AM Tom_L: the slot that is
05:18 AM Tom_L: just need the tool diameter
08:25 AM rue_bed: not the lever
08:26 AM rue_bed: A9 slots into the tube
09:21 AM rue_mohr: we have a jig for the router table that does the main slotting for the handle and the head/lever in the tube.
07:49 PM Tom_L: no need for me then
09:13 PM rue_mohr: Tom_L, do you think you can profile steel?
09:13 PM rue_mohr: cause, there is this idea...
09:13 PM rue_mohr: no idea if it'll work
09:17 PM Tom_L: i'm sure of it
09:17 PM Tom_L: depends how thick
09:17 PM Tom_L: making a mold may be pushing it though
09:19 PM Tom_L: if it's what i think, i'm afraid the aluminum would cool too quick before it got where it needed to be
10:26 PM rue_mohr: it could be preheated
10:27 PM rue_mohr: did I mention trying to cast the triggers?
10:27 PM rue_mohr: I might try it with the sand
10:27 PM rue_mohr: my sand is pretty course tho
