08:49 PM zhanx: threaded rod fell off the x axis on the motor side. Time for a new coupler I think
08:51 PM Tom_L: mis aligned?
08:51 PM zhanx: no its the end with all the weight, I had it glued but it didn't last
08:57 PM Tom_L: unless i can think of something else i think the macro is done finally
08:57 PM Tom_L: the recomend arc lead in moves but i didn't do that
08:57 PM Tom_L: they*
09:01 PM zhanx: just frustrated
09:01 PM zhanx: i just finished getting it printing right and bam
09:01 PM Tom_L: known as Z luck
09:01 PM zhanx: yep
09:02 PM zhanx: but i found new threaded rods
09:02 PM zhanx: https://www.banggood.com/500mm-Lead-Screw-8mm-Thread-2mm-Pitch-Lead-Screw-with-Copper-Nut-p-982941.html
09:03 PM zhanx: gonna grab 2 of those to solve the wobble with the threaded rod
09:04 PM Tom_L: better than hardware store allthread
09:04 PM zhanx: yep which is what i am using
09:05 PM Tom_L: find some tiny ballscrews :)
09:07 PM zhanx: https://www.banggood.com/200mm-Stroke-Guide-Rail-Linear-Actuator-1605-Ball-Screw-with-57mm-Motor-p-1258544.html?rmmds=detail-bottom-viewalsoview__10&cur_warehouse=CN
09:08 PM Tom_L: they wouldn't even have to be 16mm
09:09 PM Tom_L: but i was sure impressed with them on my mill
09:09 PM Tom_L: how long are your rods?
09:09 PM zhanx: 200mm?
09:09 PM zhanx: something like that
09:10 PM Tom_L: 9-10"?
09:10 PM zhanx: yea
09:10 PM Tom_L: not very long
09:10 PM zhanx: nope
09:11 PM Tom_L: z doesn't move that much
09:11 PM Tom_L: you don't have a way to machine the rods do you?
09:11 PM zhanx: nope
09:11 PM zhanx: hence the order them
09:11 PM Tom_L: i've got some cutoff rod if you could find the ball nuts to go on them
09:12 PM Tom_L: not sure you can get the nuts separate
09:12 PM Tom_L: you'd need support ends too
09:12 PM zhanx: https://www.amazon.com/BIQU-Copper-Coupler-Bearing-Printer/dp/B01H1S8ASC/
09:14 PM Tom_L: still alot better than your current setup
09:14 PM zhanx: yep
09:15 PM zhanx: gonna order 2 of those for now
09:15 PM zhanx: use the rods as it cheaper
09:15 PM Tom_L: can't hardly go wrong for 12 bux
09:18 PM zhanx: nope and it can be part of my upgrade for size
09:18 PM zhanx: gonna swap to a larger size threaded rod and make the printer larger
09:32 PM zhanx: rue_mohr, need to pick your brain
09:33 PM zhanx: i am thinking of printing a second set of z axis mounts, putting them on the bottom and moving the motors to there
10:13 PM zhanx: ok after measuring stuff out, i will need to raise the printer a little bit, add one more rod on the bottom, print 6 parts to do it
10:14 PM zhanx: crickets
10:31 PM Tom_L: wonder if those printers would be any more reliable with metal parts over plastic
10:32 PM zhanx: maybe but the price would be crazy
10:33 PM Tom_L: how so?
10:33 PM Tom_L: if you did it yourself..
10:33 PM Tom_L: some parts would be harder to machine
10:35 PM zhanx: true but most of the parts don't have to be metal, there is no load on them
10:36 PM Tom_L: what makes them rattle apart then?
10:36 PM zhanx: bad settings on the motor movement
10:37 PM zhanx: i think after this next change it should be the last for it
10:37 PM zhanx: other than me breaking the glass bed its been plug and print for a few months now
10:42 PM Tom_L: rue_mohr sure has been quiet in his little channel lately
10:43 PM Tom_L: i'm about due for another project
10:44 PM Tom_L: did you or are you making another printer for the mrs?
10:45 PM Tom_L: i remember some discussion on that
10:51 PM zhanx: still up in the air on the one for the mrs
11:01 PM rue_mohr: yea I been building things and searching for people on twitter
11:01 PM Tom_L: oh that's right.. i forgot about the twitter thing
11:02 PM rue_mohr: zhanx, your wondering about what rod to use for sliders?
11:02 PM rue_mohr: your gonna do something crazy, there is nothing I can do about it
11:04 PM Tom_L: found out i can't do nested if's in this macro
11:06 PM Tom_L: want a robotic arm for the cost of shipping?
11:06 PM Tom_L: <seb_kuzm1nsky> i have a robot arm that's 90% working. if anyone wants it and will pay for shipping, i'll send it to you
11:07 PM Tom_L: <seb_kuzminsky> some pics: http://highlab.com/~seb/linuxcnc/scorbot-er-3/
11:08 PM Tom_L: lcnc controlled of course
