01:17 PM Jymmm: rue_mohr: I've been thinking about flue temps of 1200F/650C and how to "absorb" that into another medium (water?) so the exit flue temps are around 120F/50C in the space of a 55gal drum.
01:21 PM Jymmm: rue_mohr: Then I got to thinking about your boiler... in the 4 or 5ft length, what is the entry and exit temps (bottom and top temps of your boiler)?
01:26 PM Jymmm: s/length/height/
07:32 PM rue_mohr: heh I told ya
07:32 PM rue_mohr: there is a temp rise of about 5 to 18 degrees c
07:32 PM rue_mohr: I dont recall the flow rate tho
07:47 PM Jymmm: But at the fire, it's like 1200F, what is it 5 feet higher is what I'm wondering about
07:50 PM rue_mohr: exit temp is about 200-250c
07:51 PM rue_mohr: which annoys me,but its hard to squeeze out that last bit
07:51 PM rue_mohr: the plan was to air-air it and preheat the intake air
07:52 PM rue_mohr: i have a double-rolled design, but withtout suffiecient load it would melt nomatter what it was made from
07:53 PM Jymmm: 200C is still pretty high sadly.
07:53 PM rue_mohr: yea
07:53 PM Jymmm: I came up with a "baffle" sysem of sorts
07:54 PM Jymmm: each "baffle" is a 2" high tank of water, spaced 2" or so apart, stacked inside a drum
08:43 PM zhanx: ok i am proud. i locked the kids pc down, he googled the bypass on it
08:43 PM zhanx: i saw the massive drop in internet speed
08:43 PM zhanx: walked back and he was scared
08:43 PM zhanx: nope, he learned
11:01 PM RonoldoMoon: I keep a backdoor on the kids here
