12:12 AM rue_mohr: wow, irc is dead
12:16 AM furrywolf: https://www.chp.ca.gov/CommercialVehicleSectionSite/Documents/H%20chp362.pdf figure out how to open that file
12:16 AM furrywolf: give you something to do. :P
12:20 AM rue_mohr: ... is it got password?
12:21 AM rue_mohr: http://ruemohr.org/~ircjunk/not_public_dont_open/H_chp362.ps
12:21 AM furrywolf: ghostscript does postscript well. :)
12:21 AM rue_mohr: I have not been able to get gs to give me anything other than the finger.
12:22 AM rue_mohr: finger gs
12:22 AM rue_mohr: finger: gs: no such user.
12:22 AM rue_mohr: not even finger will co-operate
12:22 AM furrywolf: it's apparantly adobe once again finding a way to force people to use their software... they use their proprietary scripting to load the document, so nothing else can display it.
12:22 AM furrywolf: 2018-10-01 22:20:49 ERROR 403: Forbidden.
12:22 AM rue_mohr: that why...
12:22 AM rue_mohr: oops
12:22 AM * rue_mohr puts on elevator music
12:24 AM rue_mohr: <DING> please try again.
12:24 AM rue_mohr: ?
12:25 AM rue_mohr: funny enough, when I run is thru the pdf printer from adobe, there is an error on the last page
12:25 AM rue_mohr: print to file worked tho
12:25 AM rue_mohr: did it?
12:25 AM furrywolf: Connecting to ruemohr.org (ruemohr.org)|209.160.64.5|:80...
12:25 AM rue_mohr: 8-| ?
12:26 AM rue_mohr: would you like to express that as a wget?
12:26 AM * furrywolf tries again
12:26 AM furrywolf: downloading now
12:26 AM rue_mohr: yay
12:26 AM furrywolf: lol. ghostscript renders it in white on black.
12:26 AM rue_mohr: inverted?
12:26 AM furrywolf: I should totally fucking mail it to them like this.
12:27 AM furrywolf: yep.
12:27 AM rue_mohr: .....
12:27 AM furrywolf: and fill out the black boxes with a whiteout pen.
12:27 AM furrywolf: with a little note "please fix your pdf files to be standards compatible."
12:27 AM rue_mohr: ok, one moment tho
12:27 AM rue_mohr: just cause I'm curious now
12:31 AM rue_mohr: wtf
12:31 AM furrywolf: actually, I lied, I use imagemagick to display it... but it uses ghostscript for the backend.
12:31 AM rue_mohr: ok, doing it as image, printed 20 pages, would you like to try it out?
12:31 AM rue_mohr: imagemagic...
12:31 AM rue_mohr: "This PostScript file was created from an encrypted PDF file.
12:31 AM rue_mohr: Redistilling encrypted PDF is not permitted."
12:31 AM furrywolf: it was the first thing I could think of to make ghostscript work... installing the actual ghostviewer now.
12:31 AM rue_mohr: oooo
12:31 AM furrywolf: I really hate adobe.
12:33 AM rue_mohr: they are not putting out any more readers for linux
12:33 AM rue_mohr: the version I have is the last version there will ever be
12:33 AM furrywolf: we need a law that government agencies publishing files for the public are required to use standard formats.
12:33 AM rue_mohr: there is
12:33 AM rue_mohr: freedom to rights and information
12:33 AM rue_mohr: act
12:33 AM rue_mohr: ...
12:34 AM rue_mohr: huh, nowonder they threw me out of lawyer school
12:35 AM rue_mohr: do the world a favor, convert it to something and publish it everywhere
12:35 AM rue_mohr: we can write a virus that just leaves it in MyDocs of every computer it finds
12:36 AM rue_mohr: put it on every cloud drive
12:37 AM furrywolf: bbl, it's way past my bedtime... wasted all night fucking around with this form.
12:38 AM rue_mohr: I'm glad I had a chance to hlep
12:39 AM rue_mohr: awe, its past bedtime, I wanted to rough out a page for the coffeemaker
12:39 AM rue_mohr: ... set time, set start time 1, set start time 2, On, Off, and status
12:39 AM rue_mohr: *sigh*
12:40 AM rue_mohr: arg, and I'm supposed to fall asleep to yt vids of backpropigation training
12:41 AM furrywolf: it's way past my bedtime too... wasted all night fucking around with this form. bbl, sleep!
01:21 AM rue_bed: train by adjusting the threshold function tho
01:27 AM rue_bed: cross train networks
05:42 PM zhanx: Internet is still down. Another cut line I guess.
05:43 PM zhanx: Printer is up and running. Printing the replacement parts I needed for the y axis motor and extruder
07:10 PM Tom_L: at least it's working now
07:10 PM rue_mohr: wow,again!
07:11 PM rue_mohr: zhanx, yay, takea pics of your machine so I can send you upgrades
07:18 PM Tom_L: if it's working why would it need upgraded?
07:18 PM Tom_L: you know that... if it ain't broke don't fix it thing?
07:18 PM rue_mohr: cause it can work muuch better
07:19 PM rue_mohr: http://ruemohr.org/~ircjunk/projects/cnc4/p1100745.jpg
07:19 PM rue_mohr: http://ruemohr.org/~ircjunk/projects/cnc4/p1100746.jpg <-- notice the elipse
07:19 PM rue_mohr: http://ruemohr.org/~ircjunk/projects/cnc4/p1100747.jpg
07:19 PM rue_mohr: http://ruemohr.org/~ircjunk/projects/cnc4/p1100748.jpg <-- for comparison, the coil on the right isn't scortched
07:20 PM rue_mohr: the funny thing is the brushes are like ~33%
07:21 PM Tom_L: maybe a bit warm ehh?
07:22 PM rue_mohr: when that bushing wore in like that, the armature jammed against the magnets
07:22 PM rue_mohr: the speed controller ramped up, burning upt eh armature
07:22 PM rue_mohr: then it overloaded, and cut out
07:22 PM rue_mohr: the bit then broke off
07:23 PM rue_mohr: http://ruemohr.org/~ircjunk/projects/cnc4/p1090553.jpg
07:23 PM Tom_L: i broke one of my thread cutters
07:23 PM rue_mohr: :/
07:23 PM Tom_L: did a Diam instead of a Radius
07:23 PM rue_mohr: too much DOC?
07:23 PM rue_mohr: burn...
07:23 PM Tom_L: in my calcs
07:23 PM rue_mohr: doyou still ahve any to play with?
07:23 PM Tom_L: it's hard to visualize because it's cutting the center of the cutter not the edge
07:24 PM Tom_L: 1
07:24 PM Tom_L: but not the size i wanted
07:24 PM rue_mohr: :/
07:24 PM Tom_L: smaller
07:24 PM Tom_L: the one left is for 1/4 - 20 and above
07:24 PM rue_mohr: that wasn't an $18 cutter was it?
07:24 PM Tom_L: up to about 56 pitch
07:24 PM Tom_L: more
07:24 PM rue_mohr: oooouchhhh
07:25 PM Tom_L: shit happens
07:25 PM Tom_L: i wasn't too happy
07:25 PM rue_mohr: you dont step new programs?
07:25 PM Tom_L: it's hard to visualize because it's cutting the center of the cutter not the edge
07:25 PM rue_mohr: yup
07:25 PM Tom_L: but i won't make that mistake again
07:25 PM rue_mohr: how does it work in the CAM?
07:26 PM Tom_L: it generates a helix
07:26 PM Tom_L: i can post the code
07:26 PM rue_mohr: ok, soyou dont model the thread
07:26 PM rue_mohr: you tell is to cut a helix
07:26 PM Tom_L: sortof yes
07:26 PM Tom_L: but you calculate the major diameter
07:27 PM Tom_L: for the thread then you figure the pitch
07:27 PM Tom_L: which is easy
07:27 PM Tom_L: i enter: 1/20 in the dialog for 20 tpi
07:27 PM Tom_L: i just have to enter it a couple places
07:28 PM rue_mohr: wow, almost just fell asleep
07:28 PM rue_mohr: arg
07:28 PM rue_mohr: nap or bot rings and ductwork?
07:28 PM Tom_L: 2 cars hit each other right in front of me a bit ago
07:28 PM rue_mohr: feet are cold and cI cant see straight
07:28 PM Tom_L: neither one had insurance
07:28 PM rue_mohr: !!!!
07:28 PM Tom_L: no kids car seats
07:29 PM rue_mohr: asian?
07:29 PM Tom_L: i called it in, took pics of their tags just before they both drove off
07:29 PM rue_mohr: !!
07:29 PM rue_mohr: wow
07:29 PM Tom_L: no but not white
07:29 PM Tom_L: ... the other 2 favorites
07:29 PM rue_mohr: were they yelling?
07:29 PM Tom_L: no but they weren't happy i called
07:30 PM rue_mohr: huh
07:30 PM Tom_L: i waited
07:30 PM rue_mohr: I suppose if neither laycharges, it doesn't matter?
07:30 PM Tom_L: nobody ever showed up either is the flip side of the story
07:30 PM rue_mohr: huh
07:30 PM Tom_L: they both would have gotten sited
07:31 PM rue_mohr: their road borne killers
07:31 PM rue_mohr: I bet they dont even have any assets if they hit someone
07:31 PM rue_mohr: was it a fast hit or likea bump
07:32 PM Tom_L: stopped for a train
07:32 PM rue_mohr: hah, I'm hearing voices, I'm too tired
07:33 PM Tom_L: one would probably have lost her kids for a while for child endangerment
07:33 PM Tom_L: the other caused the wreck
07:33 PM Tom_L: probably illegals anyway
07:34 PM rue_mohr: we have a problem here where asians think that driving liscences are for the whole family
07:34 PM Tom_L: heh
07:34 PM rue_mohr: so granny takes johnnys DL with her driving
07:34 PM Tom_L: they're horrible drivers anyway
07:35 PM Tom_L: polite but horrible
07:35 PM rue_mohr: I HAVE SEENT HINGS
07:35 PM rue_mohr: did my typing actaully get worse over the last 4 years?
07:36 PM rue_mohr: so Tom_L anyhow, I wanted to show you that motor damage
07:36 PM Tom_L: i dunno but i've been keeping up with my bad spelling
07:37 PM Tom_L: got one to replace it?
07:37 PM rue_mohr: if I sleep fro 2 hours I can get some things done
07:37 PM rue_mohr: yes,
07:37 PM rue_mohr: I made sure I sued a motor I had a spare of
07:38 PM rue_mohr: used
07:38 PM Tom_L: but if you sleep 2 hrs nobody will be here then
07:38 PM rue_mohr: its rare anyone is anyhow
07:38 PM Tom_L: i usually am if someone is around
07:39 PM rue_mohr: you know when you eyes close, and you dont notice cause you imagination fills things in
07:39 PM Tom_L: happens every day
07:39 PM rue_mohr: and you hear voices and your move thinking about what their saying than realizing that there's nobody there?
07:39 PM rue_mohr: /move/more/
07:39 PM Tom_L: not so much the voices
07:40 PM rue_mohr: "kill them all" geeez, cmon, my todo list is already long enough!!!
07:40 PM rue_mohr: :)
07:41 PM Tom_L: what determines a motor's rpm?
07:42 PM Tom_L: say an ac motor
08:29 PM rue_mohr: freq
08:42 PM rue_mohr: :/ I never got into bed
09:01 PM zhanx: ok internet is back
09:05 PM Tom_L: https://www.cnccookbook.com/easy-guide-to-threadmills-calculator-speeds-feeds-programming/
09:06 PM Tom_L: Thread Milling article
09:06 PM Tom_L: mostly bookmarked for me
09:06 PM Tom_L: feel free to learn something..
09:07 PM zhanx: so i was working on the car today
09:07 PM zhanx: found my wedding band
09:07 PM Tom_L: nice
09:07 PM zhanx: which I lost about a year ago
09:07 PM Tom_L: iirc you mentioned that a while back
09:07 PM zhanx: it was in the dirt in the driveway
09:07 PM Tom_L: nice safe keeping place
09:08 PM zhanx: yep and its titanium so its like new still
09:08 PM Tom_L: huh, my irc pc was sitting idle
09:08 PM Tom_L: i thought it was still connected
09:08 PM zhanx: weird
09:09 PM Tom_L: no timeout
09:10 PM Tom_L: did you see my thread video?
09:10 PM zhanx: so it took 2 days for me to get internet back
09:10 PM zhanx: nope
09:11 PM Tom_L: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=92D6QqRzGAM
09:12 PM Tom_L: ran it slow the first time
09:14 PM zhanx: ever use a blind thread tap ? (not sure if that is the name) the one with the hinged insert that only locks in on direction
09:17 PM furrywolf: I've never seen a product as you describe.
09:17 PM zhanx: ok new guide for the filament is done. looks terrible due to my crappy bed mod, that i am reversing tomorrow
09:17 PM furrywolf: the only blind thread taps I've seen were ones with no taper than you ran down a mostly-tapped hole to finish the bottom threads to full size.
09:18 PM Tom_itx: no i haven't
09:18 PM Tom_itx: those are called bottoming taps
09:19 PM * furrywolf has lots of them... all homemade!
09:19 PM furrywolf: in fact, they make themselves! especially when you don't want them to!
09:19 PM Tom_itx: anyway, this lets me tap on the mill since it's got a small spindle motor
09:20 PM Tom_itx: i've made a few
09:20 PM Tom_itx: but you can get them
09:20 PM Tom_itx: but i know what you mean too
09:20 PM furrywolf: see, you start out with a normal tapered tap... then you go to tap something... and after a whole lot of swearing, you have a tap that's only half as long, but has no taper, so you can use it to finish blind threads. :P
09:21 PM Tom_itx: i don't remember why now but i've ground the shank down on some too
09:23 PM zhanx_ is now known as zhanx
09:23 PM zhanx: bah
09:43 PM rue_mohr: ok, I woke up
09:43 PM zhanx: ok
09:43 PM rue_mohr: strange dreams
09:43 PM rue_mohr: sumo wrestlers from japan locking me under the cowling of a rocket engine and all
09:44 PM rue_mohr: and telling me I can only have 100lbs of rice for supper, 200lbs just isn't an option
09:49 PM zhanx: so floating the bed on springs was a bad idea
09:50 PM Tom_itx is now known as Tom_L
09:54 PM furrywolf: rue_mohr: did you notice the bots changed from a number on the nick to two letters?
10:06 PM Tom_L: what bots?
10:06 PM furrywolf: SmirnovWN [~Smirnov@110.77.214.227] has joined ##furry
10:06 PM furrywolf: SignOff SmirnovWN: ##furry (Killed (Sigyn (Spam is off topic on freenode.)))
10:07 PM Tom_L: another thing, they join a channel and spew a few random lines of txt from another channel's conversation then leave
10:07 PM Tom_L: so they blend in better
10:07 PM furrywolf: I haven't seen that... but I've quieted unidentified nicks in every channel I'm in.
10:08 PM Tom_L: http://tom-itx.no-ip.biz:81/~tom-itx/irc/logs/%23garfield/2018-10-01.html
10:08 PM Tom_L: i reposted that to show rue
10:09 PM Tom_L: the txt has absolutely nothing to do with the channel it's in
10:10 PM Tom_L: the JF one follows your template
10:11 PM furrywolf: do you have the hostmask for them?
10:11 PM Tom_L: no
10:11 PM furrywolf: bah
10:11 PM Tom_L: those were captured when they removed the register block for a few min in that channel
10:12 PM furrywolf: I want to see if the second is still has a nick two letters longer than the ident.
10:12 PM Tom_L: i could remove it in one if you wanna look at it sometime
10:12 PM Tom_L: not gonna do it tonight though
10:12 PM Tom_L: doesn't take long for them to start up
10:14 PM Tom_L: it's not something that can be stopped...
10:15 PM zhanx: for some reason I printed m4 thumb screws when I needed m5
10:15 PM furrywolf: for some reason I can't imagine printed m4 screws being functional.
10:42 PM rue_mohr: furrywolf, I have my 22 bots doing the c20 channels
10:42 PM rue_mohr: furrywolf, go check out #lamebots
10:42 PM rue_mohr: er
10:42 PM rue_mohr: ##lamebots
10:42 PM rue_mohr: see if they pick up on any of it
11:47 PM zhanx: rue_mohr, I see team canada folded on USCMA
