12:05 AM rue_shop3: ok
12:09 AM rue_shop3: I got the leds working for the range buttons on the freq gen
12:09 AM rue_shop3: you just need to register tom
12:09 AM rue_shop3: msg nickserv ....
12:09 AM rue_shop3: uh huh, brain froze
12:09 AM rue_shop3: msg nickserv identify rue_mohr *************
12:09 AM Tom_L: i used to do it that way as well
12:21 AM rue_mohr: ah
12:21 AM rue_mohr: ok, asa is keeping me awake
12:21 AM rue_mohr: getting a bit of a clear head even
01:00 PM rue_shop4: --
02:51 PM rue_shop4: the backlash in a 5/16 linknut is 0.06mm
05:13 PM Tom_L: is that good or bad?
05:28 PM rue_mohr: iirc its better than the ballscrew @ 0.1mm
10:38 PM furrywolf: holy copper, batman! I just got a 60-75ft (estimated) cable, 2/0, 4 conductors. also got three ~40ft (also estimated) 8/5 cables with fancy amp plugs on both ends.
10:40 PM furrywolf: the big cable is wired with pairs in parallel, plus a pair of voltage sensing leads. somone was pulling a whole lot of dc power...
10:42 PM Tom_L: stealing copper again ehh?
10:42 PM Tom_L: :)
10:43 PM Tom_L: theater lighting?
10:43 PM furrywolf: came from a local hospital, apparantly
10:43 PM furrywolf: the big cord has anderson plugs on one end, and some ungodly expensive looking two-pin connector on the other.
10:44 PM Tom_L: hospitals love to spend patient's money
10:45 PM furrywolf: it may, in fact, be the most expensive connector I've ever seen.
10:46 PM furrywolf: I have no idea what it was used for.
10:46 PM furrywolf: something that needed >500A DC with remote voltage sensing
10:47 PM furrywolf: I'm assuming DC from the use of anderson connectors and the remote sensing leads
10:47 PM furrywolf: and that's >500A continuous, not peak
10:57 PM furrywolf: I don't have it in front of me, but each pin is about 1/2" diameter with 2" of mating surface, and the back end is big enough to terminate two 2/0 cables and sense leads. either solid silver or heavily clad. lots of spring little contacts, not a taper fit.
11:44 PM furrywolf: bbl, bedtime
