12:01 AM rue_mohr: Cristina 72414 1534746719 :seconds idle, signon time
12:04 AM rue_mohr: I'm sorry, this ISN't suspicious?
12:04 AM zhanx_: it is to me
12:04 AM rue_mohr: dennis 43532 1533878234 :seconds idle, signon time
12:04 AM rue_mohr: ok wait
12:04 AM zhanx_: plus i have read on how they use irc to control bot nets
12:04 AM rue_mohr: are we looking at the first or second number?
12:04 AM rue_mohr: zhanx_, it makes sense
12:04 AM rue_mohr: just have all the machines join the control channel as they are exploited
12:04 AM rue_mohr: you can issue scripts, issue commands...
12:04 AM zhanx_: channels
12:04 AM zhanx_: https://www.wordfence.com/blog/2016/08/hacking-wordpress-botnet/
12:04 AM rue_mohr: DNS 52343 1534540226 :seconds idle, signon time
12:04 AM rue_mohr: if its the first number, thats 14 hours, odd, but ok
12:07 AM zhanx_: https://www.wired.com/2014/03/nsa-botnet/
12:07 AM rue_mohr: the second number is 48 years
12:07 AM zhanx_: the nsa is hijacking them also
12:07 AM katsmeow: the second number is the $ctime
12:07 AM rue_mohr: so, the NSA wants my computer to be part of their botnet so they can use it for international espianage?
12:07 AM rue_mohr: ah
12:07 AM katsmeow: Fri Aug 17 16:10:26 2018
12:07 AM katsmeow: .//echo -s $asctime(1534540226)
12:07 AM katsmeow: [12:07:am] DNS has been idle 16hrs 52mins 56secs, signed on Fri Aug 17 16:10:26 2018
12:07 AM katsmeow: my code works, same login reported by freenode
12:07 AM rue_mohr: ok, so thats not too bad then
12:08 AM rue_mohr: I wouldn't be suspicious till up around 1209600 seconds
12:08 AM rue_mohr: zhanx_, hmm, notable article
12:08 AM katsmeow: if they have zhanx's connection,t hey can still be a bot and never get more than 8000 seconds
12:08 AM rue_mohr: but if they tried, they should be abel to take over the whole kitten-kaboodle in no time
12:09 AM katsmeow: umm, ok
12:09 AM rue_mohr: now its zero kat
12:09 AM rue_mohr: :)
12:09 AM katsmeow: sorry
12:09 AM rue_mohr: I think it deomonstrates my point tho
12:09 AM rue_mohr: its legit
12:10 AM rue_mohr: I dont imagine the hacker bots ever say anything
12:16 AM rue_mohr: so, I'm told that once a login is found, all the ssh attempts stop
12:16 AM rue_mohr: and your local hacker comes and manually installs his stuff
12:16 AM rue_mohr: all examples seem to do it in a directory called " "
12:21 AM zhanx_: ok ramps mount finished printing
12:29 AM * katsmeow should prolly goto bed and get her 8 hrs of nightly hallucinations while unconsious
12:30 AM katsmeow: aka, dreams while asleep
12:31 AM katsmeow: gnites
12:31 AM zhanx_: yep
12:37 AM rue_mohr: I wonder if I can have 22 bots all connect from one IP
08:42 AM rue_mohr: zhanx, yea, thats not deep enough without a guide
08:45 AM zhanx: still working right now
08:45 AM zhanx: I am almost done with 1 part of the spool holder now
08:46 AM zhanx: the ramps board holder is already printed rue_mohr
08:48 AM rue_mohr: I think I have someone excited, my ssh attacks went up like 30fold
08:48 AM zhanx: nice
08:49 AM zhanx: you need to make the password easy
08:49 AM rue_mohr: this router, not the honeypot
08:50 AM rue_mohr: I'm thinking I should run the password logger on my real border instead of a honeypot
08:50 AM rue_mohr: its highly unusual for them to hammer a root login like this
08:50 AM rue_mohr: usually the usernames are quite distributed
08:51 AM rue_mohr: their throwing the book at me, and I'm talking about the one titled 'websters'
09:08 AM rue_mohr: its one attack source for sure
09:09 AM rue_mohr: every time I block access from a network, it takes about 6 minutes for it to find another network to come at me from
07:33 PM zhanx: rue_mohr, i have an issue with the printer, the x and y are flipped. so I need to move the limits and reverse the motors
07:35 PM Tom_L: can't do it in software?
07:35 PM zhanx: I think i could but its not an issue to move the motor wires on the board
07:40 PM zhanx: Tom_L, I need to wait till this print is done. it will work still but just notice its inverted is all
07:50 PM Tom_L: might be handy if you need a left & right part :)
08:00 PM zhanx: true
08:11 PM Tom_L: iirc you can flip the sign on one axis and do the same
08:11 PM Tom_L: in the code
08:16 PM Tom_L: i think i have an editor that will do that for me
08:21 PM rue_shop4: zhanx, the print came out mirrored
08:21 PM rue_shop4: which corner did you make zero
08:21 PM rue_shop4: should be bottom left of the platter
08:21 PM zhanx: my y is backwards
08:21 PM rue_shop4: ok
08:21 PM Tom_L: ok this is gonna be an odd little part to hold
08:22 PM rue_shop4: so when you hit home, it goes to the back?
08:22 PM rue_shop4: table towards you?
08:22 PM zhanx: table towards me
08:22 PM rue_shop4: right
08:22 PM rue_shop4: table should be all the way back when at zero
08:22 PM rue_shop4: SO
08:22 PM rue_shop4: listen!!!!
08:22 PM zhanx: ok
08:22 PM rue_shop4: move the zero sensor
08:22 PM zhanx: the limit
08:22 PM rue_shop4: and swap two of the wires on a stepper phase
08:22 PM zhanx: check
08:23 PM rue_shop4: aka reverse 1 phase of the motor
08:23 PM zhanx: that was the plan
08:23 PM rue_shop4: no software changes
08:23 PM rue_shop4: :)
08:23 PM Tom_L: just saying, sometimes it's easier in software
08:23 PM Tom_L: i'm also aware of swapping wires
08:23 PM zhanx: Tom_L, no i haven't installed the software to program the mega since the new hd
08:24 PM zhanx: :D
08:24 PM zhanx: not like it is a big deal
08:25 PM zhanx: so when swapping one phase, I was going to turn the plug around
08:25 PM zhanx: but rue sounds like want me to swap just 2 wires for like the a phase
08:27 PM Tom_L: that'll do it
08:27 PM rue_shop4: oh yea, you can just turn the plug around
08:27 PM rue_shop4: damnit, I forgot that
08:27 PM zhanx: work smarter not harder rye
08:27 PM zhanx: rue
08:29 PM Tom_L: making a part but not sure what it's supposed to look like
08:31 PM rue_mohr: heh
08:33 PM Tom_L: it's gonna hold a bearing to keep the neoprene from dragging on the end of the rails
08:33 PM Tom_L: http://tom-itx.no-ip.biz:81/~webpage/cnc/Mill_Steel/Assembly/spindle_cooler/Mill1.jpg
08:33 PM Tom_L: under that
08:34 PM Tom_L: it doesn't catch but it's starting to show some wear
08:34 PM zhanx: and fixed
08:54 PM Tom_L: ok, first ECO in place
09:20 PM zhanx: rue after the ramps holder and the spool mount what was i suppose to print?
09:33 PM * katsmeow wavers hie
09:33 PM katsmeow: remember that dog in the mission to Mars movie some years ago?
09:33 PM zhanx: hey katsmeow
09:34 PM katsmeow: it's been souped up and is now in the movie A.X.L
09:34 PM zhanx: cant say that i do
09:34 PM zhanx: i remember some movie with a guy growing potatoes on mars
09:34 PM katsmeow: different movie
09:35 PM katsmeow: AMEE the dog in https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_Planet_(film)
09:36 PM zhanx: ok gonna watch it
09:36 PM katsmeow: AMEE was more of a general purpose combat robot, A.X.L. seems for of a dog
09:37 PM katsmeow: AMEE ran on plutonium(?) , AXL runs on gasoline
09:37 PM zhanx: watching the opening credits i will let you know on AMEE
09:41 PM zhanx: katsmeow, my new router came in connection has been great ever since
09:42 PM Tom_L: http://tom-itx.no-ip.biz:81/~webpage/cnc/Mill_Steel/Assembly/Shims/Cover_slide_bracket.jpg
09:42 PM katsmeow: mine flaked out, i bypassed it, plug 24-port switch right into modem
09:43 PM Tom_L: that work ok?
09:43 PM zhanx: for
09:43 PM Tom_L: doing that can internal machines see each other?
09:43 PM katsmeow: no clue what it is... part for a brake?
09:44 PM Tom_L: 608zz goes on the shaft
09:44 PM katsmeow: blade guide?
09:44 PM Tom_L: http://tom-itx.no-ip.biz:81/~webpage/cnc/Mill_Steel/Assembly/spindle_cooler/Mill1.jpg
09:44 PM Tom_L: will go beside the rails to hold up that neoprene
09:45 PM Tom_L: http://tom-itx.no-ip.biz:81/~webpage/cnc/Mill_Steel/Assembly/Y_Axis_Mockup.jpg
09:45 PM Tom_L: they're rubbing it on the ends
09:45 PM Tom_L: left end there
09:45 PM katsmeow: heh, you used the same blue i used on something
09:46 PM Tom_L: i like it
09:46 PM zhanx: kat AMEE is nuclear powered is all they said
09:46 PM Tom_L: i think the neoprene is stiff enough i won't need a tube between them
09:47 PM * katsmeow nods
09:48 PM Tom_L: i will need a left and right hand part though
09:48 PM katsmeow: i thik i'd mount a rod across it, withbearing placement to be determined as it;s used
09:49 PM katsmeow: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_robotic_dogs
09:54 PM katsmeow: AXL is made so smart, but cannot speak in words
10:05 PM rue_shop4: heh
10:07 PM furrywolf: I managed to break my toughbook... dropped my fm transmitter (aluminum box) on the keyboard, corner first, from the top shelf. broke off the Z key and cracked the cap of the fn key.
10:07 PM furrywolf: well, one of my toughbooks.
10:07 PM furrywolf: going to see if cf-52 keys fit cf-29 laptops. heh.
10:07 PM furrywolf: (I have a parts cf-52)
10:10 PM katsmeow: i sprayed my laptop with wasp spray, it had never caused harm before, but this caused some areas of the screento be quite a bit brighter than the rest
10:10 PM * furrywolf sends katsmeow a toughbook too
10:10 PM katsmeow: happened with a monitor too, but the brighness onit faded to normal after a few yrs
10:10 PM furrywolf: I accidentally soaked one in brake fluid once. it still works.
10:11 PM katsmeow: there's only a thumbprint sized bright spot (corect color, just brighter) near a lower corner onscreen
10:12 PM katsmeow: the massive blob faded, most of the mottling faded
10:18 PM furrywolf: I don't have to deal with wasps too often... last time I used a can of starting fluid, because it's what I could find.
10:18 PM furrywolf: I don't think I own any actual insecticides.
10:18 PM furrywolf: the starting fluid worked quite well.
10:19 PM katsmeow: this wasn;t wasps, it was some kind or flying bug that came in ramen from the store, and infested the house, i used traps, swatters, sprays to eliminate them
10:20 PM katsmeow: if *i* made a move towards them, they sensed airpressure and dove to the floor to hide under things usually, sometimes they went for the ceiling
10:21 PM katsmeow: the wasp spray unloaded death upon them flying or not, from some distance, and fast
10:22 PM katsmeow: i still see some upstairs and in the elevator shaft sometimes
10:24 PM katsmeow: they nest in narrow slots, and like warm, so the puters attracted them too
10:29 PM rue_mohr: huh
10:29 PM * furrywolf curls up on katsmeow, also liking warm
10:30 PM * katsmeow automatically preens
10:32 PM * furrywolf becomes fluffier
11:11 PM katsmeow: ...

11:17 PM Susan is now known as BIGOLfartbum
11:20 PM BIGOLfartbum: just showing someone how this works
11:20 PM * BIGOLfartbum burps
11:24 PM BIGOLfartbum: rue_bed Susan thinks she has another idea about an attack vector
11:31 PM BIGOLfartbum is now known as prunella
11:32 PM katsmeow: prunella scales?!
11:33 PM prunella: oh that Basil...
11:33 PM katsmeow: lol
