03:21 AM rue_bed: I bent 4 more pipes today for the mecha project
03:24 AM rue_bed: adjusted the bender, their not comming out corkscrew anymore
05:27 AM Tom_L: wheels must not have been parallel
05:27 AM Tom_L: wouldn't take much over a large span
08:49 AM rue_mohr: I only moved the idler about 2mm forward
10:00 AM furrywolf: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Daiden-Scr-Contactor-Box-Welding-Weld-Controller-480v-SS-1100-600/122751937901 that's cute... water-cooled SCRs!
09:47 PM rue_shop4: ooo for a spot welder?
09:50 PM Tom_L: ok i got the motor out from under the dash
09:51 PM Tom_L: 'blend door actuator motor'
09:51 PM zhanx: oh that is fun
09:51 PM Tom_L: this is #4
09:51 PM rue_shop3: !?
09:51 PM Tom_L: 2 vehicles
09:51 PM rue_shop3: dc motor?
09:51 PM Tom_L: i imagine so
09:51 PM zhanx: vacuum?
09:51 PM Tom_L: gear motor
09:52 PM rue_shop3: so, what failed?
09:52 PM Tom_L: the plastic gear inside strips i think
09:52 PM rue_shop3: can you throw a eral geared motor at it
09:52 PM rue_shop3: CNC an adapter
09:53 PM Tom_L: it's controlled by the onboard pc whaever it is
09:53 PM zhanx: obd II
09:53 PM Tom_L: it may do current sense to stop it at the end of travel, i dunno
09:53 PM furrywolf: is it a toyota?
09:53 PM Tom_L: oh hell no
09:54 PM Tom_L: first 2 i got from the salvage for 5 bux for both of em
09:54 PM furrywolf: also, grrrr. I just took off my kitchen led light fixture, as it failed. it seems it has failed because I've developed a roof leak directly over the fixture, and filled it with a half inch of water.
09:54 PM Tom_L: err 3 iirc
09:55 PM furrywolf: on some of them, such as toyota, when the gear strips, you can flip the gear over and get another 100k miles out of it.
09:55 PM Tom_L: i think that one is still working
09:55 PM furrywolf: so, not only do I have to change the fixture, I have to get up on the roof with the bucket of wet patch... again.
09:55 PM rue_shop3: http://www.vias.org/transistor_basics/img/transistor_basics_06-10.gif er, is a uuF a nF or a pF?
09:55 PM Tom_L: i replaced one with a new one and it lasted maybe 2 weeks
09:55 PM zhanx: dashmount is broken
09:56 PM furrywolf: check for leaves of foam stuck in the door
09:56 PM furrywolf: or
09:56 PM rue_shop3: replace with a real motor thats strong enough to just sheer off whatevers in the way
09:56 PM rue_shop3: :)
09:56 PM Tom_L: i had the fan out on both of em and they were both clean
09:56 PM zhanx: i like rue's idea
09:57 PM Tom_L: i'll just put a bicycle brake cable on the control and move it manually :D
09:57 PM zhanx: Tom_L, check your dash mounts if one is cracked it will cause the miss alignment
09:57 PM rue_shop3: Tom_L, you got those encoder-gearmotors we never made a robot with
09:57 PM Tom_L: z, they're good
09:57 PM Tom_L: yes
09:57 PM Tom_L: somewhere
09:57 PM zhanx: Tom has a cnc he can make a dash system
09:57 PM Tom_L: in the attic i think
09:57 PM furrywolf: of my current three vehicles, one is cable, one is pushrod, and one is vacuum... no gearmotors!
09:57 PM rue_shop3: if they use current feedback, you want ot make sure the ratio is ok, but those were metal gear
09:58 PM rue_shop3: Tom_L, well, the stuff has to come out of the attic one day, might as well be before you die
09:58 PM Tom_L: i said you could have it
09:58 PM Tom_L: but shipping would kill the deal i bet
09:58 PM rue_shop3: ok, but yea
09:59 PM zhanx: oh fun there is a bear in my trash can again this year
09:59 PM rue_shop3: if I dont go to china maybe I'll come down to the usa
09:59 PM rue_shop3: thats why I put garbage out on pickup day
09:59 PM Tom_L: china would be more fun
09:59 PM zhanx: my cans are next to the cars, it might be the same one as last year
10:00 PM rue_shop3: it would be neat to make a trip down and catch as many of you as I can
10:00 PM zhanx: technically i am north of you
10:00 PM rue_shop3: pick parts up from tom, get shot at by kat, see z's boots of destruction
10:01 PM rue_shop3: furrywolf, what country you in? calafornia?
10:01 PM Tom_L: i bet your truck may not make that far
10:01 PM rue_shop3: yea, that is a thing
10:01 PM rue_shop3: what do you think would break?
10:01 PM Tom_L: mine would have but the kid wrecked it
10:01 PM Tom_L: the one i sold it to
10:03 PM rue_shop3: clutch to 2nd, or have the engine fall out...
10:03 PM rue_shop3: wheel bearing
10:03 PM zhanx: oil pump
10:03 PM rue_shop3: you dont need to go over 80km/hr right?
10:03 PM Tom_L: convert that to inch
10:04 PM furrywolf: yes, california
10:04 PM Tom_L: mine had 230k
10:04 PM zhanx: in cali you better figure 100 mph or you are getting rear ended
10:04 PM rue_shop3: kats on the other side from calafornia,
10:04 PM Tom_L: 49k miles???
10:04 PM Tom_L: that's it?
10:04 PM rue_shop3: zhanx, ok, but its all downhill everywhere, right?
10:05 PM Tom_L: hah
10:05 PM Tom_L: guess again
10:05 PM zhanx: depends on the direction you are heading
10:05 PM rue_shop3: I can do up to 60km/hr uphill
10:05 PM zhanx: don't miss a turn
10:05 PM Tom_L: yeah some of em are a long ways down
10:05 PM furrywolf: grrrrrr. stupid fucking china. the screw kit with the new fixture is just... random screws. different heads, different lengths, no fucking matched pairs of anything.
10:06 PM Tom_L: i like goin thru the blue hills at night when all the trucks are out
10:06 PM Tom_L: :)
10:06 PM Tom_L: passed one that went into the sand traps
10:06 PM furrywolf: and NONE of them actually fit the fixture.
10:06 PM zhanx: heck the hill to my house is 2000 meters up in 1200 meters of run
10:06 PM furrywolf: $#@$@#ing china!!
10:06 PM zhanx: furrywolf, its all m3 or m4 stuff
10:06 PM furrywolf: it's all 8-32.
10:06 PM rue_shop3: 320000 km on it
10:06 PM furrywolf: we use proper units here. :P
10:07 PM zhanx: in this chat we use stones
10:07 PM zhanx: or boots in my case
10:07 PM rue_shop3: whats that in cubic-lightyears?
10:08 PM zhanx: .3E-23
10:08 PM rue_shop3: root@blackie2:/files/objects# units lightyear3 teaspoon
10:08 PM rue_shop3: * 1.7179958e+53
10:20 PM furrywolf: grrrrrrr. I hate trying to fix roof leaks.
10:21 PM furrywolf: I wish I could afford to move.
10:23 PM rue_shop3: its raining in calafornia?
10:23 PM furrywolf: this part of california has nightly fog/drizzle even during sunny daytime weather
10:24 PM furrywolf: coastal redwoods get a substantial portion of their water from the fog...
10:26 PM zhanx: send me some redwood for the canoe I want to make
10:29 PM rue_shop3: score, RF stuff, a box of it
