12:16 AM * katsmeow waves gnites
09:29 PM katsmeow: mou?
09:30 PM katsmeow: cheap and dirty , made of scrap, but so far it's made quite accurately : http://designerthinking.com/sheetmetalbrake.html
09:30 PM katsmeow: today i found out 24v diesel starters are only a lil cheaper than golf cart motors : $17 each
09:31 PM katsmeow: almost 70 lbs each motor
09:33 PM katsmeow: but, the brush section is huge, ditto the starter drive throwout mechanism and the selenoids
09:33 PM katsmeow: i expect the actual motor portion of the assy to be 1/2 the size and weight of the whole thing
09:58 PM katsmeow is now known as ^kat^
10:00 PM rue_shop3: hey
10:01 PM * ^kat^ waves
10:01 PM rue_shop3: does a pipe hinge thing go in the cutout
10:01 PM rue_shop3: ?
10:01 PM rue_shop3: or a pin?
10:02 PM ^kat^: i spose it could, but i decided to drill out some 1/2 nuts and put in 1/2 rod, because i have a whole box of them
10:02 PM ^kat^: i didn;t have any pipe-pin combos that worked
10:02 PM rue_shop3: link nuts?
10:02 PM ^kat^: no
10:02 PM rue_shop3: k

10:06 PM rue_shop3: http://ruemohr.org/~ircjunk/projects/helpinghands/p1090566.jpg made for ma
10:06 PM ^kat^: anyhoo, the plain nuts are 3/4 wide, so two slots that add up to 3/4 is 3/8 , a common steel size, so i can put those cuts pretty close to where i need them, then drop the nuts in, place the pin right, and weld the nuts
10:06 PM rue_shop3: http://ruemohr.org/~ircjunk/projects/solderserver/p1090572.jpg push button, get solder
