02:38 PM Tom_L: picked up some 1/4 and 1/8" material today
02:42 PM Tom_L: maybe after a couple naps i'll try to run something
06:22 PM Tom_L: C3, A8, A10, A12 all programmed and A9 is but needs re'ordered
06:23 PM Tom_L: need 5/16 material
06:24 PM Tom_L: too damn cold out to hunt for it today
08:49 PM Tom_shop: making parts
08:50 PM Tom_shop: overall time 14 min , tool time 11 min working on the 3rd A10
09:35 PM Tom_L: http://tom-itx.no-ip.biz:81/~webpage/rue/A10.jpg
09:36 PM Tom_L: it did alot better once i got the coolant line working
09:36 PM Tom_L: you can see the part finish improved alot
09:37 PM Tom_L: and i learned alot about the mill
09:37 PM Tom_L: i know now leaving a .005" skin on the bottom is too much but i didn't know how accurate the mill would be
09:38 PM Tom_L: i'll cut that down to .002" or so and the parts will just snap out
09:38 PM Tom_L: video processing
09:38 PM ASRock_pc: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jW6RluMbYBQ&feature=youtu.be
09:39 PM ASRock_pc: when it's done uploading
09:40 PM Tom_L: i might bump the cutter down to 1/8" on the profiles but it did just fine with a 3/16"
09:41 PM Tom_L: if it's done right, you can just tear the parts out of the material
09:43 PM Tom_L: so i'll lower the last cut .003 and see what happens
09:43 PM Tom_L: if it's good, i'll do them all that way
10:31 PM Tom_L: rue_bed!! wake up!!
10:48 PM rue_: good morning!
10:48 PM rue_: wait, when is it
10:48 PM zhanx: morning?
10:48 PM rue_: A10, ok
10:48 PM rue_: Tom_L, is that cutter ok,look like it might be dull
10:48 PM Tom_L: no coolant
10:48 PM Tom_L: that made a huge difference
10:48 PM Tom_L: brand new cutter
10:49 PM rue_: k
10:49 PM rue_: did you try the sprayer thing with coolant?
10:49 PM rue_: yea big chips
10:49 PM rue_: did the machine behave for ya?
10:49 PM rue_: any tweeks?
10:50 PM Tom_L: ran fine
10:51 PM rue_: I think you can overcut the material by thickness and the aluminum will deform to keep the peice held too
10:51 PM Tom_L: the coolant tip kept vibrating loose so i put some teflon tape on it and that helped
10:52 PM rue_: I keep my air rather far up and back from the cut
10:52 PM rue_: ah there coolant
10:52 PM Tom_L: yeah finally
10:52 PM Tom_L: only about 15 min to do those 4 parts
10:53 PM Tom_L: one thing, the polylines show up
10:53 PM Tom_L: i could replace some of them with arcs
10:54 PM rue_: you can dial down the flow a little on coolant
10:54 PM Tom_L: yea i'll mess with it some
10:54 PM Tom_L: if i don't keep it up a bit it siphons back into the jug
10:55 PM Tom_L: i did move the line down lower than it was and that helped
10:55 PM Tom_L: from the jug
10:55 PM Tom_L: i need a drain trough in the table
10:55 PM Tom_L: although there really wasn't that much
10:57 PM Tom_L: i did turn down the feed a little and i'll probably bump the rpm up some
10:58 PM Tom_L: i'll try it again with coolant goin from the start
10:58 PM Tom_L: i'm sure that will help
11:33 PM rue_: :) happy cnc day
