[00:31:22] <rue_house> yea
[00:31:25] <rue_house> ooh
[00:31:31] <rue_house> I know WHY I wanted to contact you
[00:31:37] <rue_house> I got a cell phone module
[00:31:47] <rue_house> I was wondering if you want to play with it sometime
[00:31:51] <rue_house> for an arduino
[00:31:57] <rue_house> its got a serial port
[00:32:02] <rue_house> ATH0
[01:18:21] <__M00N__> YES!
[09:59:38] <jymmm> rue_house: https://ia800207.us.archive.org/25/items/TheFlowOfGasesInFurnaces/TheFlowOfGasesInFurnaces.pdf
[10:06:46] <jymmm> Free gas movement (NOT a political thing)... http://stove.ru/index.php?lng=1&rs=16
[10:12:55] <jymmm> stove russia http://www.stove.ru/index.php?lng=1
[10:15:24] <jymmm> rue_house: In that design where the flue pipe is flex hose... there was mention that once things become equalized, that it becomes difficult for the draft to occure. But maybe since it's such a small amount of fuel at a time, equalization doesn't occure?
[10:16:19] <jymmm> also saw using 3 envelopes instead of two
[19:16:36] <rue_house> to get to my boiler, I built about 8 other boilers
[19:17:26] <rue_house> your at 1
[19:26:36] <Tom_L> door is secure now
[19:26:53] <rue_house> you made a fake door that cannot be kicked in?
[19:27:08] <Tom_L> 2x4 across it
[19:27:21] <Tom_L> with a hidden string to slide it open in emergency
[19:27:40] <Tom_L> no power, the 8' doors won't open
[19:28:04] <Tom_L> beefed up the regular lock plate too
[19:28:40] <Tom_L> 8 3" screws holding that in place
[19:29:38] <Tom_L> oh, rue_house
[19:29:48] <Tom_L> how do i change desktops?
[19:29:59] <Tom_L> if you said, i forgot
[19:31:07] <Tom_L> i'll check back. nap time
[19:34:09] <rue_house> jymmm, so about page 105 eh?
[19:43:09] <rue_house> jymmm, so, from that, can you work out what the pressure would be for a 24" verticle pipe at 900*c?
[20:57:59] * jymmm takes a sawzall to Tom_L's doors
[20:58:56] <jymmm> rue_house: 1? Nah, more like .5+.5+.5+.5 ~= 2 I can only get half way before a snafu pops up =)
[21:00:05] <jymmm> rue_house: I did confirm that the bung hole accepts 2" pipe thread, sadly the HW store only had galvanized =(
[21:10:45] <jymmm> rue_house: The bug hole is right in the middle of the lid. I was thinking I could get a 3ft black pipe, have it threaded like 3-4 inches, screw it into the lid, and then attach an elbow... http://i.imgur.com/MBeIFHE.jpg
[21:10:49] <jymmm> bung*
[21:12:21] <jymmm> The drum upside down on blocks, and the burn chamber (pipe) under/outside instead of inside the drum. and feed it (pellets) through that 45 deg elbow
[21:13:48] <jymmm> pretend the pipe on the left is 3ft long, everything else is to scale.
[21:57:21] <Tom_L> street L is wrong
[21:57:32] <Tom_L> wtf were you smokin...
[22:00:48] <jymmm> Tom_L: street L?
[22:01:09] <jymmm> straight L ? Um, why?
[22:01:12] <Tom_L> https://www.google.com/search?q=street+ell&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8
[22:01:15] <jymmm> or why not?
[22:01:27] <Tom_L> threads don't match
[22:01:46] <jymmm> what are you talking about?
[22:01:54] <Tom_L> your picture
[22:02:01] <jymmm> what about it?
[22:02:07] <jymmm> Those are all 2" fittings
[22:02:19] <Tom_L> the street L won't thread into the imaginary 3' pipe
[22:02:28] <Tom_L> i know what i see
[22:02:50] <jymmm> if you look close enough, those are two males as well...
[22:03:21] <jymmm> So no, they wont fit together =)
[22:03:45] <Tom_L> why buy pipe that won't fit together?
[22:03:54] <Tom_L> screw into the barrel lid?
[22:04:59] <jymmm> See the blue bung? http://i.imgur.com/wYp7TVW.jpg
[22:05:24] <Tom_L> i see 2 actually
[22:05:45] <jymmm> No you don't cause the other one is covered
[22:06:17] <Tom_L> too washed out to tell
[22:06:37] <Tom_L> so the pipe threads into both sides of the bung
[22:06:50] <jymmm> No, THRU the bung
[22:07:02] <jymmm> No, THRU the bung hole.
[22:07:30] <jymmm> Thread 3ft pipe into the lid, with threads passing out the other side by 2" or so
[22:08:29] <jymmm> That will physically secure the pipe into the lid AND allow an elbow to be attached to the pipe as well
[22:09:03] <Tom_L> the elbow still looks wrong to me
[22:09:14] <jymmm> lol
[22:09:39] <jymmm> It's what I quickly grabbed off the shelves and tossed on the floor
[22:10:27] <jymmm> they didnt have any 3ft sections
[22:13:56] <Tom_L> you better get this figured out soon. winter is knocking on your dor
[22:14:00] <Tom_L> oor
[22:38:36] <jymmm> Too late, it snowed here today. Jsut for 15 minutes, but still =)
[22:51:27] <rue_shop> jymmm, wanna clean out 54 boiler tubes for me?
[22:51:35] <rue_shop> there all carboned up again
[22:52:21] <rue_shop> I should be getting a 15c rise, I'm getting 7.5
[22:52:59] <jymmm> Sure, no problem <reaches for charcoal, potassium nitrate and diesel can>
[22:55:22] <jymmm> rue_shop: Do you ever toss in some TSP every so often?
[22:56:51] <jymmm> Well, the mini camp stove goes back.
[22:57:23] <jymmm> It ooozed out creosote between almost every section of flue pipe tonight.
[22:57:51] <jymmm> pretty bad too.
[22:58:17] <rue_shop> no I hvae a special ram that carves it all off
[23:03:14] <rue_shop3> I really need to fix the exhaust temp guage
[23:09:56] <jymmm> I thought you ad a k probe on it?
[23:10:00] <jymmm> had*
[23:10:48] <jymmm> rue_shop: So, you think 2" pipe as the updraft and burner would do?
[23:11:26] <jymmm> It would save me from having to get/cut/weld anything
[23:18:52] <rue_shop3> not for the 200c that the exhaust runs
[23:19:02] <rue_shop3> no, I think you need more than 2"
[23:21:45] <rue_shop> hahahahah
[23:21:49] <rue_shop> found th problem
[23:23:13] <rue_shop3> bad thing in a motor driver, no input signal causes a dead short of the power rails
[23:52:08] <jymmm> just hook it to 440V, problem solved
