[00:19:00] <katsmeow> gnites
[21:19:27] <Tom_L> hah drive case arrived 2 days early
[21:19:35] <Tom_L> works as expected
[22:29:57] <katsmeow> FYI , those 12v@30a psu bricks from china, commonly sold for leds, if used to charge batteries, draw power from the battery to run the fan in the psu , if the switcher duty cycle falls too low
[22:30:28] <katsmeow> i disconnected the 12v battery at 14v, and the brick's fan rpm dropped way low
[22:31:58] <katsmeow> naturally, yeas, this implies the adjustment pot can be used to raise the 12v output to 14v
[22:32:31] <katsmeow> the voltage regulation of the brick isn't all that great anyhow, be careful about powering electronics with those
[22:58:09] <katsmeow> something is borked, since i used the sata adapters, i cannopt get *any* drives on the 2ndary pata to go past 30MB/s, altho the patas are still faster
[23:08:28] <katsmeow> running the same test n this puter on e:/ , i get 78MB/s sustained
[23:08:36] <katsmeow> c:\ sucks tho
[23:09:10] <katsmeow> d: hit 76MB/sec
[23:10:38] <katsmeow> the mobo supports ATA-8, the drive support ATA-6 (133), but are running at ATA-5 (100)
[23:12:19] <katsmeow> the 15 yr old c: has hit 41MB/s
[23:20:19] <katsmeow> seller of sata-pata adapter replies:
[23:20:22] <katsmeow> Thanks for your reply and patience.
[23:20:22] <katsmeow> We tested some of the
[23:20:22] <katsmeow> inventory in the warehouse, but the speed as you said.
[23:20:52] <katsmeow> the sata-1 / pata-133 is actually running only ata-33
[23:48:03] <rue_house> back from work!
