[09:21:45] <Tom_itx> i'm sure you don't know but i'm wondering how i would find out how to format a word document.
[09:22:11] <Tom_itx> i want to create a simple document with minimal formatting so when brought into word it will appear correctly
[09:22:33] <Tom_itx> things like 8 pt font and landscape mode. nothing major
[09:23:17] <Tom_itx> i've got the reports saved to a file but would like to add the codes for the above if possible
[09:23:48] <Tom_itx> not really sure what to search for on this as everything on formatting just tells how to do in in word
[11:16:26] <rue_bed2> can you use rtf?
[11:18:12] <rue_bed2> otherwise I'd suggest looking at binary diffs of doc files that only differ by contained text
[11:18:47] <rue_bed2> be aware the microsoft counts the number of times you print a document, and keeps an internal timestamp of changes
[15:38:27] <Tom_itx> rtf might work
[21:57:19] <rue_house> katsmeow,
[21:57:24] <rue_house> I'm finished painting your digits
[21:57:31] <rue_house> (waitng for last coat to set)
[21:57:41] <rue_house> you wanted 4:
[21:57:43] <rue_house> ?
[21:58:04] <katsmeow> umm what time display has 4 : ?
[21:59:09] <rue_house> haha
[21:59:22] <rue_house> cmon, ket me get by with a little keybaord mashing
[21:59:47] <katsmeow> :-)
[22:00:06] <rue_house> did you want 4 digits?
[22:00:17] <katsmeow> 4 digits
[22:00:31] <katsmeow> else cannot display 12:12
[22:00:51] <rue_house> are you going to reject the package after opening it and checking the semiconductors?
[22:01:09] <rue_house> I have a 1 I can send instead of a whole 7 segemnt
[22:01:09] <katsmeow> there's semiconductors?
[22:01:19] <katsmeow> ok
[22:01:21] <rue_house> no, the digits are just foam
[22:01:36] <rue_house> would you lieka 1 or an 8 for the first digit?
[22:02:00] <katsmeow> 1
[22:02:05] <rue_house> ok
[22:02:09] * katsmeow is not into 24hr time
[22:02:14] <rue_house> me either
[22:02:19] <rue_house> cant carry in my head
[22:02:24] <rue_house> or borrow
[22:02:55] <rue_house> not enough ram, I can remember the result or what the question is, the moment I flip over, I lose the other
[22:03:00] <katsmeow> altho it's dark in winter for any given 6:00 in 12hr time
[22:04:35] <rue_house> did you know I'v been working mre on the beacon based positioning system for robots?
[22:05:11] <katsmeow> no
[22:06:51] <katsmeow> having the gps down to a cm for each known object wold be nice when it comes to telling the robot to go get smething
[22:07:20] <rue_house> inside, laser lines and triangulation
[22:07:55] <katsmeow> if the robot put it down, it has the gps of it's gripper when it was released
[22:08:51] <rue_house> inside the house too, no gps
[22:10:00] <rue_house> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5qCcgSBdfbc
[22:10:20] <rue_house> short video of some test code where it chhoses the best beacons to use for the triangulation
[22:10:25] <katsmeow> it's not a form of positioning system which can be upgraded to be global?
[22:11:09] <rue_house> no, but its cheap and should work really well in smaller spaces like 40 acre yards
[22:11:18] <rue_house> or 24" hallways
[22:11:35] <katsmeow> and the adjacent 40 acres,, and the 40 acres on th eother side of them, etc
[22:11:56] <rue_house> yea, you may need a number of beacons
[22:12:07] <rue_house> robot always needs to be able to see 3 min
[22:12:09] <rue_house> more is ok
[22:12:27] <rue_house> being able to see more than about 8 at once isn't reccomended
[22:12:39] <katsmeow> of course, the usa satalite sysem for gps has 24(?) $billion satalites, and yu need only 3 signals anywher eon earth
[22:12:41] <rue_house> as it takes a while for the code to choose the best ones
[22:12:53] <katsmeow> or 4
[22:12:58] <rue_house> unless your under a roof and want 1cm positioning
[22:13:26] <rue_house> for about $10 in hardware
[22:14:33] <rue_house> hmm I see you ahve the bipolar conundram
[22:14:45] <katsmeow> please elaborate, i am eating dinner and getting plastered to make my feet stop hurting
[22:15:22] <rue_house> robot spins a modulated laser around, when it hits a beacon, the beacon RFs its ID
[22:15:38] <rue_house> the robot uses a table to know where that beacon is
[22:15:47] <rue_house> with 3 beacons it triangulates itself
[22:16:20] <katsmeow> you account for the lag teween the laser hit, measurng th laser angles, and the rf reply?
[22:16:21] <rue_house> position and heading
[22:16:39] <rue_house> once you kinda know where they are you can do tight sweeps
[22:16:54] <rue_house> the laser is on a stepper based head
[22:17:10] <rue_house> http://ruemohr.org/~ircjunk/robots/abspos/code/problem.html
[22:17:21] <rue_house> A B C are beacons, R is the robot
[22:17:37] <rue_house> http://ruemohr.org/~ircjunk/robots/abspos/dscn0659.jpg
[22:17:40] <katsmeow> the stepper may be digital, but thw robot is freely moving, and that;s analog
[22:17:43] <rue_house> half the hardware is made
[22:18:20] <rue_house> I think I'll use light pipes on the beacons to catch a range of heights
[22:19:32] <katsmeow> one bearing? i'd use two
[22:20:40] * katsmeow hands rue a bag of < to use as angle glyphs
[22:27:02] * katsmeow offers some <b></b> to make them pop on the webpage
[22:29:11] <rue_house> there's still a lot of work to do, and I have too many irons int he fire
[22:29:43] <rue_house> can I bump the carbon content of a peice of steel by throwing it red hot into fine sawdust?
[22:30:01] <rue_house> trying to harden up a cutter I made
[22:30:19] <katsmeow> oil
[22:30:32] <rue_house> oh yea
[22:30:34] <rue_house> hmm
[22:32:55] <rue_house> so today my computer has 200 days uptime
[22:33:20] <rue_house> I really shold go dust out the router and home automation computer
[22:41:20] * katsmeow did things today mostly outside, and welding, with grindering
[22:42:59] <rue_house> you welded!, :( I didnt welded today
[22:44:47] <katsmeow> i almost got the two 22" door frames made for the elevator penthouse
[22:46:02] <katsmeow> i extended the leafs of regular door hinges by welding 1" angle to them, which also wraps around the back of the stud, and welded the hinge leaf to the 1" angle that makes the door frame
[22:46:38] <rue_house> hmm
[23:40:56] <rue_house> hah
