[00:00:03] <zhanx> Had to fence in my garden while sick due to the rabbits
[00:00:25] <rue_shop3> your food had food problems eh?
[00:00:44] <rue_shop3> are you going to have the rabbits for supper with some veggies from the garden?
[00:00:51] <katsmeow> one hopes so
[00:00:55] <zhanx> I hope
[00:00:59] <rue_shop3> root@blackie2:/files/programming/c/arm4# ./a.out
[00:00:59] <rue_shop3> Opening connection to robot...
[00:01:00] <rue_shop3> Zeroing robots axies...
[00:01:00] <rue_shop3> ^C
[00:01:01] <rue_shop3> :(
[00:01:13] <zhanx> Rue I eat meat sorry
[00:02:16] <zhanx> On a good note my soldering iron died and my cucumbers flowered today
[00:03:45] <rue_shop3> aparently my shop has been absorbing usb to ttl converters at an amazing rate....
[00:04:21] <rue_shop3> I should have like 10 around
[00:04:27] <katsmeow> it's not good to have an iron die
[00:04:50] <zhanx> The barrel is hot tip is cold weird
[00:07:28] <katsmeow> tip may not be seated then
[00:07:40] <rue_shop3> nope, wasn't a converter failure
[00:08:28] <zhanx> Kat I thought that too, but no. My tool is being weird and I needed to solder 3 boards today
[00:08:53] <katsmeow> ok
[00:09:29] <katsmeow> 99% done unzipping a file, 55 GB so far, when done i am going to bed, i am dozing
[00:09:35] <rue_shop3> oh zhanx
[00:09:44] <rue_shop3> https://youtu.be/slxOrCXxXOg
[00:10:12] <zhanx> Is it bad that I just moved faster than the mouse and got it and the trap on my hand?
[00:10:30] <rue_shop3> hah, there is a hard coded serial port in here!
[00:11:03] <zhanx> Lol that's funny
[00:11:38] <rue_shop3> ok, bandaid applied
[00:11:53] <rue_shop3> OH YEA
[00:12:00] <katsmeow> gnites
[00:12:18] <zhanx> Nite
[00:13:15] <rue_shop3> oooh, one of the motor pullies came loose too
[00:15:04] <rue_shop3> well, it zerod anyhow
[00:15:47] <zhanx> Rue I have 104 zucchini plants in. So no meat most of the summer be happy
[00:15:59] <rue_shop3> ... 104!?
[00:16:07] <rue_shop3> I dont even have that many potatoes planted
[00:16:35] <zhanx> 104 squash, 215 cucumbers and 180 tomatoes
[00:16:44] <zhanx> 314 peppers
[00:18:07] <rue_shop3> while (this->waiting) {
[00:18:08] <rue_shop3> stepMotorListen(this);
[00:18:08] <rue_shop3> }
[00:18:16] <rue_shop3> hmm, there really should be a timeout on that
[00:18:29] <zhanx> Yes there should be
[00:20:22] <rue_shop3> right now the stepper controller works by reporting the zero switch status set back and allowing you to step each motor +-1 step
[00:20:42] <rue_shop3> I think I'd like to box that up on the avr,
[00:21:00] <rue_shop3> have a zero command and a goto position command, with some speed stuff
[00:21:02] <rue_shop3> hmmm
[00:21:29] <rue_shop3> anyhow I talked to the arm, maybe by thursday I can get it working
[00:21:50] <zhanx> Unless it goes on strike
[00:23:03] <rue_house> its been on a shelf for 5 years
[00:23:18] <rue_house> 2008 is the last record I have of changing the code for it
[00:23:24] <zhanx> So it's use to not working
[00:23:26] <rue_house> it was a parallel port to serial upgrade
[00:23:52] <rue_house> the reason I ported it was cause the parallel port could not do reliable timing
[00:24:13] <rue_house> the serial controller has a built in step timer, tells you when its ready for another step
[00:24:28] <rue_house> from there, I made the hobby servo driver
[00:24:38] <rue_house> and the new motion control libraries to go with it
[20:27:49] <rue_shop3> oh I think I get the conflict
[20:28:07] <rue_shop3> the zeroing system just hijacks the motors of the robot
[20:33:26] <rue_shop3> hey I saw that!!! you fell asleep!
[20:33:28] <rue_shop3> I didn't!
[20:33:31] <rue_shop3> you did!
[20:33:38] <rue_shop3> no, I was just thinking
[20:33:46] <rue_shop3> you weren't I saw it
[20:33:52] <rue_shop3> :/
[21:19:10] <rue_shop3> ugh
[21:19:14] * rue_shop3 stretches
[21:42:03] <Tom_itx> code it right or that arm will slap you silly
[21:42:40] <Tom_itx> ok, got rlock working on edit now
[21:57:22] <rue_shop3> no, its a stepper motor arm, with unipolar voltage drivers, that have about a 60:1 gearbox on them
[21:57:43] <rue_shop3> whtas rlock?
[22:00:53] <Tom_itx> record lock
[22:01:10] <rue_shop3> still playing with jet databases?
[22:01:24] <Tom_itx> will be for a while
[22:01:54] <rue_shop3> aha, ok
[22:01:59] <rue_shop3> got it to work,
[22:02:01] <rue_shop3> so hmm
[22:09:38] <rue_shop3> I think this thing has hair trigger timing problems
[22:20:54] <Tom_itx> running too tight of code tends to do that
[22:29:12] * katsmeow mouws
[22:40:54] <rue_shop3> hello, any resolution on the internet bill
[22:40:55] <rue_shop3> ?
[22:42:03] <katsmeow> 48 minutes on the phone, they siad again they'd fix it
[22:43:44] <katsmeow> just spent 30 min looking for my box of power cords, didn't find it, wore out my feets for the day, found 2 cords to fit these pus bricks
[22:43:53] <katsmeow> psu
[22:44:07] <rue_shop3> did you tell them that last time they said that and it was still broken
[22:44:22] <katsmeow> yep, they said their puters had been down
[22:44:27] <rue_shop3> I find a good way to deal with that is to say "I'll stay on the phone WHILE you fix it NOW"
[22:44:33] <katsmeow> i know their website has been fubars
[22:45:13] <katsmeow> i was getting 404 and 503 errors everywhere on the site for weeks, they apparently only check it in-house
[23:00:43] <Tom_itx> they should get out more often
[23:02:04] <katsmeow> seems they had no clue till i told them this morning
[23:02:35] <rue_shop3> 503 is permission?
[23:03:26] <katsmeow> i didn't care, rue
[23:03:49] <rue_shop3> dear god, this robot is about 8 years old
[23:19:39] <Tom_itx> haha even getting some auto fill functions figured out
[23:58:20] <rue_shop3> hmm
