[21:28:57] <rue_shop5> zhanx,
[21:29:13] <zhanx> Yes?

[21:29:28] <rue_shop5> :)
[21:29:39] <rue_shop5> cut my thumb open something good boxing it up too
[21:29:40] <zhanx> Bird nest :)
[21:30:22] <rue_shop5> pff
[21:30:34] <rue_shop5> with 13 rocket luaunchers and a small bore cannon
[21:31:01] <zhanx> Had to recount the fake rockets
[21:31:08] <rue_shop5> I need a good code for a liscence plate to put on it
[21:31:21] <zhanx> Movepls?
[21:31:30] <rue_shop5> hah!
[21:31:33] <rue_shop5> I like it
[21:31:58] <rue_shop5> M0VEPL5
[21:32:14] <zhanx> Recoilfelt
[21:32:26] <rue_shop5> dont get it
[21:32:38] <rue_shop5> oh, hmm, like the first better
[21:32:43] <zhanx> K
[21:32:55] <rue_shop5> I was thinking of P13CE5
[21:33:06] <zhanx> T8rg3tl8ked
[21:33:14] <rue_shop5> hehe
[21:33:19] <rue_shop5> bit long....
[21:33:59] <katsmeow> what is?
[21:34:22] <rue_shop5> T8rg3tl8ked
[21:34:51] * katsmeow got lost in it
[21:35:22] <zhanx> Target locked
[21:35:49] <katsmeow> 8 is pronounced like 'ah' ?
[21:36:28] <zhanx> Yes
[21:36:48] <zhanx> Phonic 8
[21:37:10] <zhanx> Radio style
[21:37:39] <katsmeow> ooooo... k
[21:40:54] <rue_shop5> ok, uh
[21:41:05] <rue_shop5> I needed to make 7 motor kits for a thing on the weekend
[21:41:15] <rue_shop5> and, at some point.....
[21:41:18] <rue_shop5> I uh....
[21:41:25] <rue_shop5> went into full production....
[21:50:19] <rue_shop5> OUTACTRL
[21:52:32] <zhanx> CTLALTDEL?
[21:53:11] <rue_shop5> :)
[21:53:52] <rue_shop5> IB00TU
[21:54:03] <zhanx> Grubloaded
[21:56:24] <rue_shop5> N3XT PLS
[21:57:21] <katsmeow> fwiw, the superdremel with a cone grinding stone is perfect for makking a drain hole in 5-gal plastic homer buckets
[21:57:45] <katsmeow> i thought the stone would gum up, but it's not a problem
[22:01:14] <rue_shop5> I find step bits do well on the plastic
[22:01:34] <rue_shop5> zhanx, do you think the white panels are too wrong?
[22:01:50] <rue_shop5> idea was to mix it up
[22:02:41] <katsmeow> i like it, i'd add glowing eyes under the clear top to stare at people , as it turns head to track them
[22:03:26] <rue_shop5> I thought I had a set of square emergency light heads to put as floods on it
[22:03:32] <rue_shop5> but I only have one, and that dosn't work
[22:04:41] * katsmeow goes afk to make dinner
[22:10:43] <rue_shop5> took an hour for 4 pcs of battery holder for 3d printer
[22:10:57] <rue_shop5> I'v made atleast 4 bases with the cnc in that time
[22:20:49] <rue_shop5> do either of you know an alg to take an area of misc shape and 'fill' it with a 'spot' of a given size? I need to work out how to make the CAM program I'm writing for a pocket operation
[22:44:40] <rue_shop5> I think I like plsmove best
[22:52:31] <rue_shop5> 26 kits
[22:52:38] <rue_shop5> that should do for 7 people
[22:53:08] <katsmeow> the simple motor thing?
[22:53:21] <rue_shop5> yea
[22:53:25] <katsmeow> got enough batteries?
[22:53:30] <rue_shop5> not today
[22:53:39] <rue_shop5> I'll get about ... 70 tommorow
[23:48:47] <rue_shop5> ok kat
[23:49:04] <rue_shop5> I made a really sensitive position sensor for a weigh scale
[23:49:22] <rue_shop5> its two optical beams, leds --> RTD
[23:49:43] <rue_shop5> with a baffle in the middle that inversly shades them
[23:49:59] <rue_shop5> so the output is a voltage divider depending on where the baffle is
[23:50:15] <rue_shop5> in 6mm it goes from .1V to 4.8V
[23:50:35] <katsmeow> 6mm is a long way, isn't it?
[23:50:40] <rue_shop5> that will be the sensor in a feedback loop to a motor that powers the balance arm of the scale
[23:50:50] <rue_shop5> the weight is the current to the motor
[23:51:00] <katsmeow> umm, error
[23:51:15] <rue_shop5> which will be somewhere about 0.2A top
[23:51:26] <katsmeow> the current will also vary depending on if it's going thru one or 2 or 3 poles on the commutator
[23:51:31] <rue_shop5> yea I should use a solinoid, but its less linear
[23:52:28] <rue_shop5> then again, I dont care what the weight actually is, I just want do distinguish between screws that range 1g-3g
[23:52:44] <rue_shop5> I want a resolution of about 0.02g
[23:53:09] <katsmeow> did you achieve that?
[23:53:22] <katsmeow> mind if someone blows on it, it will error
[23:53:44] <katsmeow> such scales are susually in a mostly sealed glass box
[23:54:10] <rue_shop5> Its for the robot arm to sort screws
[23:54:23] <katsmeow> yeas
[23:54:28] <rue_shop5> I want it to sort them into 10 or so bins by weight
[23:54:33] <katsmeow> yeas
[23:54:35] <rue_shop5> the more bins the better
[23:54:38] <katsmeow> k
[23:55:01] <katsmeow> did you achieve the goal ?
[23:55:11] <rue_shop5> I'm still workin gon it
[23:55:18] <rue_shop5> I just tested the position sensor
[23:55:19] <katsmeow> i mean for the scale
[23:55:27] <rue_shop5> still building it
[23:55:40] <rue_shop5> like you said, the commutator, not sure how to deal with that
[23:55:47] <rue_shop5> I'm going to try ignoring it
[23:56:06] <rue_shop5> otherwise, I suppose a meter mechanism would work
[23:57:12] <rue_shop5> I 3d printed a nice little enclosure for the optics
