[00:00:39]<rue_shop5> it controls the current, but not in a way the motor likes
[00:00:55]<katsmeow> o

[00:02:55]<rue_shop5> wont turn with the current control on
[00:03:05]<rue_shop5> I'm going to resort again
[00:03:21]<rue_shop5> part of what I wanted was to have the drivers close to the motors, like right with them
[00:03:33]<rue_shop5> and just the step/dir pulses would be distributed all over the place
[00:03:53]<rue_shop5> I have a baord with some commercial drivers that should work, but I'll have to put them all in one place
[00:03:59]<rue_shop5> because (long story)
[00:04:54]<rue_shop5> nope these drivers only go to 1A

[23:48:50]<katsmeow> Because rail traffic is down so dramatically, many operators have large numbers of engines that are just sitting around collecting dust. In his article, Wolf Richter shared photographs from Google Earth that show some of the 292 Union Pacific engines that are sitting in the middle of the Arizona desert doing absolutely nothing.
