[00:00:10] <rue_house> that right shaft is a sleeve around the inner pin, see the drawing?
[00:00:20] <rue_house> in ...15
[00:00:23] <^kat^-afk> i got p1070916.jpg , not p1070915.jpg
[00:00:39] <rue_house> oh 15 shows it better
[00:00:48] * ^kat^-afk stops it and restarts it
[00:00:53] <^kat^-afk> now it's comng in
[00:01:42] <rue_house> its made from a 12" spike
[00:01:55] <rue_house> that flared bit is the head :)
[00:02:13] <rue_house> the spike came out of the scrap metal pile
[00:03:49] <^kat^-afk> i am not seeing the thing the brass and plastic sits on
[00:03:55] <^kat^-afk> or how they are conected
[00:04:26] <rue_house> the right side, see the T collar in the drawing?
[00:06:10] <^kat^-afk> yeas
[00:06:21] <rue_house> its why the right side is larger
[00:06:25] <^kat^-afk> but i do not see that on the shaft the brass gear is on
[00:06:43] <rue_house> thats it
[00:06:59] <rue_house> the static shaft is the size of the one on the left
[00:07:14] <rue_house> that larger peice on the right slides ever it
[00:08:52] <^kat^-afk> need an exploded view pre-assembly
[00:08:52] <rue_house> so, the two shafts on either side can be directly driven
[00:09:04] <^kat^-afk> hard to tell in 640x pics :-P
[00:09:04] <rue_house> hmm
[00:27:24] * ^kat^-afk would program rue's arm to pick out unbroken pretzels and cashews
[01:42:21] * ^kat^-afk wavers gnites
[21:59:25] <rue_shop3> kat
[21:59:27] <rue_shop3> kat kat kat kat kat
[21:59:51] <rue_shop3> today I realized that I can take the peanut butter and put it on CRACKERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
[21:59:53] <katsmeow> rue
[21:59:59] <katsmeow> YEAS
[22:00:14] <katsmeow> it's WONDERFUL , you can change ut crackers to alter thataste
[22:00:29] <katsmeow> and different peanut buters taste different on crackers than on bread
[22:00:49] <katsmeow> jellies and preserves don't work so well tho
[22:01:58] <katsmeow> crunchy peanut butters work best if you make cracker-pb-cracker "sammishes", because the "crunchy" holds the crackers apart, and the pb doesn't squish ut the side opposite your bite
[22:02:21] <katsmeow> now, if you could program the arm to build them
[22:03:37] <katsmeow> large syringe of pb would help
[22:06:34] <katsmeow> YEAS RUE MAKE PB CRACKERS IN THE 3D PrInTeR !
[22:15:39] <katsmeow> getting up to make cornbread, why can't you make that in a 3D printer, and higde it behind a star trek replicator panel ?
[22:48:30] * katsmeow is hoping zhanx still has his job?
[22:50:06] <zhanx> Zhanx reorganizing his tool box now the kids are in bed
[22:57:11] <zhanx> So that is a no katsmeow
[22:57:35] <katsmeow> :0(
[22:58:43] <katsmeow> damnit
[23:00:28] <zhanx> But my socket drawer is back in order again
[23:01:48] <zhanx> http://m.imgur.com/PmDVtgn,QcwxfhJ
[23:02:36] <zhanx> 1/4 drive stuff is in another drawer
[23:03:40] <katsmeow> 6 3/8 ratchets?
[23:04:16] <zhanx> 2 torque ratchets inch pound and foot
[23:04:38] <zhanx> 1 beater ratchet
[23:05:00] <zhanx> One I found on side of road and one duel 1/4 3/8
[23:05:02] <rue_shop3> reading...
[23:05:36] <zhanx> Other is 1/2
[23:05:41] <rue_shop3> an assembly line, the robotputs the crackers in the peanut-printer and takes them out when done
[23:05:45] <katsmeow> justneed a reason to have them
[23:06:12] <rue_shop3> zhanx, nice start!
[23:06:28] <zhanx> Rue that is on drawer
[23:06:29] <rue_shop3> katsmeow, if they are sitting there ready to be eatne....
[23:06:51] * katsmeow can't smell them from here
[23:06:58] <katsmeow> i have cornbread atm
[23:08:16] <zhanx> http://m.imgur.com/ECLYT6E kat need pliers?
[23:08:44] <rue_shop3> whew, I accidently closed imugr, maybe the night is saved
[23:08:52] <katsmeow> heh
[23:09:11] <zhanx> On to the punches etc
[23:09:21] <rue_shop3> oh I'm missing 2 punches...
[23:09:40] <rue_shop3> katsmeow, lets see your visegrip collection!
[23:09:43] <zhanx> I didn't borrow them!
[23:10:17] <rue_shop3> I think I only have about 10 vise grips :(
[23:10:21] <katsmeow> i have one 5gal bucket full atm, the rest are all over some steel in the barn
[23:10:52] <katsmeow> i bought only as many as i needed, and even then i didn't get as many as i'd have liked
[23:11:31] <katsmeow> some stuff nees more of one type or another than i have, and they do break/wear out
[23:11:47] * rue_shop3 crosses his arms and pouts till he sees an image
[23:11:53] <zhanx> http://m.imgur.com/9uyCCun I seriously need more hammers
[23:12:16] <rue_shop3> I only have 2, not including the sledge...
[23:12:25] <rue_shop3> and the welding hammers...
[23:12:30] <zhanx> I got 100 harbor freight plastic clamps (2-1/2")
[23:12:51] <zhanx> I seem to have lost my welding hammer
[23:12:51] <rue_shop3> important for woodworking!
[23:12:56] <rue_shop3> make one!
[23:13:03] <rue_shop3> I did, then I made another... then...
[23:13:20] <rue_shop3> anyhow, lets not get on about obsessive compulsive...
[23:13:41] <zhanx> True
[23:14:22] <katsmeow> you seen some of my projests, with 30+ vise grips in use, and more needed
[23:14:40] <zhanx> Too late I have 61 oil filter sockets
[23:14:49] <katsmeow> why?
[23:16:00] <zhanx> 31 sorry and ummmm they are faster than a hammer and screw driver plus some are canister sockets
[23:16:35] <rue_shop3> I was at a garage sale and someone was selling 6" metal C clamps for $1.50ea, I bought them all
[23:16:48] <rue_shop3> funny enough, I can only find 1 right now...
[23:17:02] <zhanx> I only have 1 c clamp. Never needed more
[23:17:09] <katsmeow> was 1 all they were selling?
[23:17:29] <rue_shop3> no, I thik I got 6
[23:17:39] <katsmeow> i gott amake anotehr 2-screw O clamp tomorrow
[23:17:39] <zhanx> Kats knowing rue he made them into something else
[23:17:41] <rue_shop3> things disspear in cycles in my shop
[23:17:49] <rue_shop3> so I stock it to the saturation point
[23:17:57] <rue_shop3> so I can always find atleast 1
[23:18:05] <rue_shop3> it took about 300 pencils
[23:18:14] <rue_shop3> I really dont know where they went
[23:18:18] <zhanx> I use pens and markers
[23:18:33] <rue_shop3> I have about 25 in the bucket, but there is always one wehere your working, nomatter where that is
[23:18:41] <katsmeow> run the kids thru magnetometer?
[23:19:01] <rue_shop3> na, they are all in here I"m sure, they turn up in groups sometimes
[23:19:19] <zhanx> Kat super surprised you didn't notice all the magnets I had in the drawer
[23:19:31] <zhanx> Aka rue needs to clean shop
[23:21:45] <katsmeow> i noticed all the wobble sockets and adapters
[23:22:21] <rue_shop3> I thought they wee rubber washers fro soemthing
[23:22:27] <rue_shop3> why all the magnets>?
[23:22:38] <zhanx> I got 144 3/4 round magnets. So I can layout bolts in the pattern them come out
[23:23:19] <zhanx> Takes care of most engine rebuilds and keeps them organized
[23:24:23] <zhanx> Just a tip is all
[23:25:34] <rue_shop3> awe! :( I should have taken a pic of all the scrap metal I got day before yesterday, I'v gone and sorted it all now
[23:25:49] <rue_shop3> zhanx, cool
[23:26:34] <rue_shop3> oh z
[23:26:44] <zhanx> Plus it's a cheap way to be organized and cardboard sucks to cut templates in
[23:26:48] <zhanx> Shot
[23:26:53] <zhanx> Shoot
[23:26:55] <rue_shop3> http://ruemohr.org/~ircjunk/robots/arm6/p1070915.jpg
[23:27:17] <rue_shop3> my crazy design ideas are comming back, but this time I have the stuff to build them!
[23:27:28] <zhanx> Nice
[23:27:37] <zhanx> And it's for?
[23:27:59] <rue_shop3> http://ruemohr.org/~ircjunk/robots/arm6/p1070897.jpg
[23:28:05] <rue_shop3> wrist and gripper for arm
[23:28:13] <zhanx> K
[23:28:37] <zhanx> Need to see more of it
[23:28:38] <katsmeow> if you can build them, and they work, they prolly aren't crazy
[23:28:49] <rue_shop3> ^^
[23:28:53] <rue_shop3> thats the whole arm
[23:29:10] <zhanx> Tad but short ain't it
[23:29:13] <zhanx> Bit
[23:29:23] <rue_shop3> I'm stepping up from the other small ones
[23:29:34] <zhanx> Is it playing with loonies?
[23:29:42] <rue_shop3> http://ruemohr.org/~ircjunk/robots/arm9/p1060859.jpg
[23:30:04] <rue_shop3> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5vLEtVLV71I
[23:31:14] <zhanx> That is really good rue
[23:31:42] <rue_shop3> I was surprised the repeatability was that good
[23:32:21] <zhanx> I would say great job
[23:32:24] <rue_shop3> anyhow, seeing as I have all the tech, that larger one should just be a matter of assembly
[23:32:34] <zhanx> True
[23:32:57] <rue_shop3> the extra size throws some new challanges, but thats why its good to build lots of thigns
[23:33:12] <zhanx> I am doing low hanging fruit right now
[23:33:25] <zhanx> Sensor networks
[23:34:07] <rue_shop3> erm...
[23:36:26] <zhanx> I figure if I package my sensor network right I can drop it into a robot easier
[23:37:07] <rue_shop3> ohhh, sorry a reparse translated what you said differently
[23:37:33] <rue_shop3> for that robot, I'm re-using the servo conttrollers that are on the hexapod
[23:37:38] <zhanx> Sure....
[23:37:40] <rue_shop3> (code wise)
[23:37:57] <rue_shop3> it'll use +- 24V, 3 wire power bus
[23:38:02] <rue_shop3> and the 2 transistor drivers
[23:38:43] <zhanx> Better run 8 wires then
[23:39:10] <rue_shop3> +24V, GND, -24V
[23:39:22] <rue_shop3> you only need 2 driver transistors to do fwd/ref
[23:39:24] <rue_shop3> rev
[23:40:17] <rue_shop3> its almost silly for a root like this, but the hexapod has 18 axies and it saves a LOT of parts
[23:40:29] <rue_shop3> robot
[23:40:36] <rue_shop3> gsdhk;tnhnhidthntjbghkdbtrhdbtrhki <-- spare letters
[23:41:19] <zhanx> Yep
[23:43:26] <rue_shop3> ok the gripper is a little farther along
[23:43:35] <rue_shop3> cables are a problem apparently tho
[23:43:50] <rue_shop3> it looks like I need to put money into it
[23:44:19] <rue_shop3> so far this robot is only at $4, gotta be carefull of the budget, only $16 left
[23:44:41] <rue_shop3> oh, $2, I didn't use one of those...
[23:45:24] <rue_shop3> I'm also upping the game on this robot by making is a proper 7 axis
[23:45:32] <rue_shop3> (8 axies total)
[23:46:06] <rue_shop3> er, 7 axies total
[23:46:08] <rue_shop3> wtf
[23:46:20] <rue_shop3> huh, lost track at some point
[23:46:56] <katsmeow> between 6.34 and 8.72 , i'd say
[23:47:18] <rue_shop3> I got lots of good flatbar from the metal pile, so I have the material I need
[23:47:43] <rue_shop3> katsmeow, some of the allthread was scavanged
[23:48:30] <katsmeow> someone dropped off a 6" bundle of 7/17 all thread 10ft long at the recycler, i have no clue wat yo use that much for
[23:48:37] <katsmeow> 7/16
[23:48:53] <rue_shop3> hanging electrical tray in a LARGE job
[23:49:46] <rue_shop3> ok shop time is over :(
[23:49:56] <rue_shop3> tommorow I ahve to work out what to do with the kids
[23:50:06] <katsmeow> that would explain the 2 800amp 480v switchboxes
[23:54:24] <katsmeow> and the huge air compressors
[23:55:03] <katsmeow> hate that those are being scrapped
