[01:05:14] <rue_shop3> missed moon.
[11:46:17] <any87600270> hard drive platters : http://i.imgur.com/kr8gRdm.jpg
[11:46:32] <any87600270> that is all
[14:54:46] <any30342445> you see, the robot does not need tuh be tall enough tuh reach thuh doorknob : http://imgur.com/download/UcBYXto/Bright%20Cat
[14:54:50] <any30342445> that is all
[16:00:16] <rue_house> somehow I bet the cat was going inf or a drink
[17:42:14] <__m00n__> Hay RUE
[20:36:25] <Tom_itx> dammit. how do i associate a nick with my main nick?
[21:00:22] <rue_shop3> "these look like weld-on hinges with holes"
[21:01:11] <katsmeow> the holes are for alignment pins, if you need that sorta thing
[21:01:24] <rue_shop3> :)
[21:01:34] <katsmeow> mind that many hinges in stores now have plastic inserts in the hinge
[21:01:54] <Tom_itx> kat
[21:01:56] <rue_shop3> !?
[21:01:59] <katsmeow> Tom
[21:02:06] <Tom_itx> how do i identify a nick with another?
[21:02:10] <Tom_itx> so they are linked
[21:02:25] <katsmeow> each nick has it's own password,
[21:02:44] <Tom_itx> right but i can change to like Tom_L etc and it's the same
[21:02:46] <katsmeow> altho nickserv may argue that point
[21:03:01] <Tom_shop> is also registered to Tom_L
[21:03:04] <katsmeow> don' need to a a *different* pass
[21:03:27] <Tom_itx> right but i forgot the command to associate them
[21:03:30] <katsmeow> type: //ns help group
[21:03:38] <katsmeow> i think that's what you want
[21:03:39] <rue_shop3> I can auth any nick with my main acccount nick and pass
[21:04:40] <katsmeow> rue, they are still separate, i found out the hard way if you do not id to each nick you have, even the grouped ones with the same password, nicks will expire
[21:04:52] <rue_shop3> no not nickserv identify rue_mohr *********
[21:04:58] <rue_shop3> as any nick
[21:05:12] <Tom_lab> ok that did it
[21:05:23] <katsmeow> Tom, they are still separate, i found out the hard way if you do not id to each nick you have, even the grouped ones with the same password, nicks will expire
[21:05:34] <Tom_itx> i know
[21:05:37] <Tom_itx> if you don't use them
[21:05:51] <Tom_itx> how can you tell if they've expired?
[21:05:59] <katsmeow> "use them" is irrlavant, you must also be id'd to them specifically
[21:06:08] <Tom_itx> how?
[21:06:15] <katsmeow> type //ns info nick
[21:07:03] <katsmeow> you id same as you do now, but you must be then nick for several hours each week AND BE ID'D TO IT, to be safe
[21:09:35] * katsmeow looks at Tom
[21:09:50] <Tom_itx> i'm trying to set up another chat client
[21:11:35] <Tom_itx> what's CTCP?
[21:11:37] <katsmeow> [Tom_Lab VERSION reply]: HexChat 2.10.2 [x64] / Windows 7 SP1 [2.00GHz]
[21:11:37] <katsmeow> [Tom_itx VERSION reply]: mIRC v6.03 Khaled Mardam-Bey
[21:11:37] <katsmeow> [zlog VERSION reply]: ircbot.py by Joel Rosdahl <joel@rosdahl.net>
[21:11:59] <katsmeow> abbt for "computer to computer protocol"
[21:12:03] <Tom_itx> oh
[21:12:23] <Tom_itx> i'm trying to get a client to work off a thumbdrive so i can chat at the lab
[21:12:27] <katsmeow> can be used for anything, it's just a private channel of sorts, really
[21:12:43] <katsmeow> there are protocols tho, magic bytes and such
[21:13:01] <katsmeow> but you can use it tlike this too..............
[21:16:11] <katsmeow> Borg : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anita_Borg
[21:18:31] <katsmeow> ping is a ctcp
[21:18:37] * Tom_itx mutters
[21:18:53] <Tom_itx> they said they had a new version so i upgraded and it didn't work
[21:18:56] <Tom_itx> back to the old one...
[21:19:07] <Tom_itx> missing some .dll
[21:19:31] <katsmeow> use the dll from the old one?
[21:19:49] <Tom_itx> i wrote it to the old dir. if it was there it would have stayed
[21:20:10] <Tom_itx> the old one seems to work from the thumb drive
[21:20:16] <Tom_itx> i'll try it at the lab next week
[21:20:40] <katsmeow> you have an underground lair now too ?
[21:20:53] <Tom_itx> i'm taking catia classes
[21:20:59] <katsmeow> k
[21:21:28] <Tom_itx> this semester will be evening class
[21:22:04] <Tom_itx> been playing with solidworks too
[21:22:37] <katsmeow> today i felt well enough to go outside and finish welding the last 50 axle clips for the plate roller
[21:36:27] <rue_shop3> 50, wow
[21:37:01] <katsmeow> it's very unsatisfying to cuss when hoarse and throat infection, i gave out a good %$^%^@&&#$%$ today and barely broke 40db
[21:38:09] <katsmeow> i did a few extras, there's 3 rows of 49
[21:38:48] <katsmeow> a ball bearing tween each in the row
[21:38:53] <rue_house> bearing, support, bearing, support, bearing...?
[21:38:57] <katsmeow> yeas
[21:39:11] <rue_house> whats the /bearing load?
[21:39:19] <katsmeow> thebearings alternate sides/axles
[21:39:49] <katsmeow> data sheet says good for 1000lbs no rpm
[21:40:13] <katsmeow> so 48,000 lbs support for the roller
[21:40:54] <rue_house> 24 ton wow
[21:41:23] <katsmeow> i dunno how much stress will be on them if i attempt to roll 1/2 inch thick plate, but what i am aiming for first is 1/8 thick plate
[21:41:26] <rue_house> for bending 1/2"
[21:41:36] <rue_house> ah
[21:42:07] <rue_house> must be pretty close to a 1/2" thick peice a bit wider than the roller
[21:42:14] <rue_house> per roller
[21:42:23] <katsmeow> hmm?
[21:42:28] <rue_house> logiocally
[21:44:21] * katsmeow uploads a pic
[21:44:49] <rue_house> I must remmeber to do kittylitter
[21:45:10] <katsmeow> it's already up, i posted it 2 months ago?
[21:45:29] <katsmeow> in Dec last yr
[21:45:40] <katsmeow> guess which one it was
[21:46:06] <katsmeow> http://DesignerThinking.com/images/DSCF6888m.jpg
[21:47:05] <katsmeow> those aren't the rollers, but they are dops the same size, spaced way they should be
[21:48:01] <rue_house> me puts zipties on the shopping list
[21:48:17] <rue_house> how come when I tack like that it all turns out to be slag?
[21:48:42] <rue_house> your bedframe has been stored longer than mine
[21:49:20] <rue_house> ok, I'm sure, I dont understand
[21:49:42] <rue_house> where does the plate go in?
[21:49:45] <katsmeow> i have dozens of bedframes, if i have a spare $ and they are easy to grab, i get them at the recycler, to make things with, way cheaper than buying new steel
[21:50:09] <rue_house> yes, mine aren't pitted, yet
[21:55:33] <katsmeow> http://DesignerThinking.com/images/DSCF6623m.jpg
[21:56:04] <rue_house> and the bearings go between the rollers and the plate
[21:56:14] <katsmeow> http://DesignerThinking.com/images/DSCF6622m.jpg
[21:56:37] <rue_house> fully driven
[21:56:45] <rue_house> you found key'd shafts COOL!
[21:57:02] <katsmeow> no, try tuh imagine whut those 6ft long 1.25 dia roller will do if i try to roll some 1/4 plate steel with them
[21:57:14] <katsmeow> no, found shafts had them keyed
[21:57:21] <rue_house> oh
[21:57:49] <rue_house> so the bearings support the pressure on the rods?
[21:57:55] <katsmeow> yeas
[21:57:57] <rue_house> ah, that expalins
[21:58:03] <rue_house> k
[21:58:09] <rue_house> now it all adds up
[21:58:21] <katsmeow> welcome to my nitemare
[21:58:26] <rue_house> the peice of bedframe 'dosn't exist'
[21:58:38] <katsmeow> the bedframe was temp spacer jig
[21:58:51] <rue_house> got it
[21:59:16] <rue_house> https://sites.google.com/site/geekattempts/home-1/sdramthing
[21:59:44] <katsmeow> i examined the stresses in a plate roller, and eliminated the un-necessary parts, and adapted what was left to still perform the task
[22:00:54] <katsmeow> imagine the ordinary plate roller, with 3 very large diameter solid multi-ton rollers on two $100 bearings
[22:01:53] <katsmeow> if yu stop the roller, with plate in it, and examine the stresses, you can see there's literally tons to get rid of
[22:02:26] <katsmeow> i started with the over-heavy and ove-prices parts
[22:02:48] <katsmeow> shrink 6" dia roller down to 1.25 inch
[22:03:20] <katsmeow> replace it's strength with enough backup that you can prolly double the capacity
[22:03:30] <katsmeow> simple
[22:03:58] <katsmeow> just gotta think outside the box, while looking in from several dirstions at one, and have a reason for it
[22:05:05] <katsmeow> that sdram thing would make a great microsequencer, i think it bites as a great state machine tho , because it cannot chnage fromread to write while in one burst
[22:07:55] <rue_house> I'm wondering if using mroe than one and making one into a proper state machine
[22:08:22] <rue_house> hmm, do I want to go back into the shop tonight?
[22:08:40] <rue_house> I have this SDram stick sitting infront of me
[22:08:46] <Tom_itx> naw
[22:08:53] <rue_house> but he disn't post any avr code
[22:09:20] <katsmeow> usng one to drive the otehr , and vice versa, works for me
[22:10:27] <rue_house> what gets me, is that its starting to look a LOT like the 'processor' I designed back in about 1985
[22:10:43] <katsmeow> i was thinking microsequencer, since the module can't change modes in a burst, but it can write data out snce it's writng, to another module, which can the be triggered to do it's own burst sequencing on theat data
[22:10:50] <rue_house> the drawing is lost, but it uses a feedback state machine mixed with a ram chip
[22:12:16] <katsmeow> you could cheat, use wide srams and 74F269 counters, and get 256 location bursts, AND configure it so you CAN read and write as you wish ,,, and hit 100Mhz with those counters, and not need any refresh
[22:20:16] <rue_house> ok, shop is off
[22:20:33] <katsmeow> i was thinking of turnng a cpu inside out, and reversingthe way puters are built: the 16bit cpu does very little, the cpu has no registers, no logic, no math, all the ram is dedicated to the video,
[22:23:31] <katsmeow> basically, semi-compile the user source program, step thru it with a memory manager state machine
[22:24:27] <katsmeow> big hunks of the video ram aren't used, so with some intelligent banking, all that left over ram can be registers
[22:24:50] <katsmeow> then toss in sme memory mapped math/logic functions
[22:25:23] <rue_house> wait, how fast can I run all the static 386 cache chips I have?
[22:25:50] <katsmeow> possibly 20ns
[22:26:13] <rue_house> 2e8
[22:26:19] <rue_house> 200000000hz
[22:26:20] <katsmeow> some of those were pretty fast for their day
[22:26:23] <rue_house> 200000khz
[22:26:26] <rue_house> 200mkhz
[22:26:30] <rue_house> 200mhz
[22:26:36] <rue_house> 200mhz?
[22:26:48] <katsmeow> you had a 200 Mhz 386 ??
[22:26:51] <rue_house> no
[22:26:54] <rue_house> you said 20ns
[22:26:59] <rue_house> 1/20ns is 200Mhz
[22:27:05] <katsmeow> i didn't say the cpu ran that fast
[22:27:11] <rue_house> oops
[22:27:13] <katsmeow> noooooo
[22:27:20] <rue_house> 50Mhz
[22:27:28] <katsmeow> 5Mhz
[22:27:42] <rue_house> so, he's only running that SDram at 30Mhz
[22:27:52] <rue_house> units 1/20ns Mhz
[22:27:53] <rue_house> * 50
[22:28:10] <katsmeow> yea, 50 , i typod
[22:28:14] <katsmeow> typoed
[22:28:16] <rue_house> ah
[22:28:25] <rue_house> so 20Mhz
[22:28:45] <rue_house> too bad I cant access the L2 cache memory of a processor
[22:29:13] <rue_house> heh, use a processor as a state machine
[22:29:14] <rue_house> hehe
[22:29:21] <katsmeow> use a cpu with no cashe, add your own
[22:30:57] <rue_house> arg, my brain just hit a power limit
[22:31:10] <rue_house> suddenly I'm sleepy
[22:31:13] <rue_house> where is tea
[22:31:16] <rue_house> I need tea
[22:31:29] <rue_house> hmm I have less than 2 hours runtime left
[22:31:39] <rue_house> maybe tea isn't a good idea
[22:34:04] <rue_house> so, what can we do with that ebay account?
[22:34:18] <rue_house> or are you already?
[22:35:04] <katsmeow> you know how no good deed goes unpunished? neighbor got another dog and let it run loose, and the older dogs are teaching it to be aggressive at every little noise
[22:35:34] <katsmeow> i have not tried the email yet
[22:36:38] <katsmeow> you know i been ut of it since last sunday, right?
[22:36:49] <rue_house> understimulated animals, the owners are being cruel to them by not providing properly for them
[22:37:01] <rue_house> np, I'm just excited
[22:37:40] <katsmeow> i am sittng here still coughing fits, and spitting out cups of mucus
[22:38:08] <rue_house> one of those "please hang me upside down so I can drain properly" viruses?
[22:38:49] <katsmeow> felt like i was having my toncils out twice over again, really, i couldn't make a sound when i tried talking
[22:39:14] <katsmeow> and my breathing s gurggly and wheezy
[22:39:16] <rue_house> were you analizing the operation of speech while all this was going on?
[22:39:32] <katsmeow> speech? no?
[22:39:42] <rue_house> wow, I'm fighting to stay awake
[22:39:53] <rue_house> maybe I better do the kitty litter and supper now
[22:40:09] <katsmeow> supper should be 4 hrs pre-bed
[22:40:21] <rue_house> oops only 2 hours left
[22:40:32] <rue_house> I'll throw an antacid into it
[22:40:44] <rue_house> if I mash it up good he dosn't notice
[22:40:50] <katsmeow> been eating enough pain drugs my ears been ringing all day
[22:41:15] <katsmeow> why do you put antacid tabs in the kitty litter?
[22:41:22] <rue_house> I probably have to drive for an hour tommorw
[22:41:25] <rue_house> I need sleep
[22:41:38] <rue_house> better late then never?
[22:41:56] <katsmeow> i think it misses an important step
[22:43:06] <katsmeow> 2000 pcs 1uf 25v 1206 caps: $4
[22:50:27] <rue_house> if you look from the canadian account, is the chipping $45?
[22:50:35] <katsmeow> i got a few pics off the "tv" this morning, of Leonard Nemoy when he looked 21 yrs old, in a western, of course
[22:51:02] <katsmeow> really depends on the item (size, weight, optins, etc, and fo sorth)
