03:10 rue_house oh yea
03:10 rue_house Jax184, 386 or 486? 3 right?
03:20 Jax184 I'm hoping to find a nice 40 MHz 386 board and a 486 board with PCI but not the UMC chipset
03:22 rue_bed k
03:23 Jax184 I like that we can track your travels around the house based on your username
03:23 Jax184 in a perfect world I'd like a Soyo 4SA2 for the 486 and another Asus ISA-386U3Q for the 386
03:23 Jax184 but that's one hell of a tall order
03:27 rue_bed I"ll go check the box in a bit
03:27 rue_bed just gonna get some food
18:10 Jax184 rue_school: Back in Vancouver yet?

21:31 ^kat^ A barge containing clarified slurry oil suffered damage from the collision. Its cargo tank was ruptured, discharging approximately 120,588 gallons of oil into the river, according to the Coast guard.
21:43 Jax184 which river?
21:47 ^kat^ Missississississippi , but as it's outside Paduckah, it's in Kentucky
21:48 at^ grabs a hirez pic of a robocopter operating on a usn
21:49 ^kat^ i wish it wa a movie, the guy doesn't seen to know it's still chained to the deck

21:49 ^kat^ he needs traiing on how to shave his face tho
21:50 ^kat^ this is a HIREZ pic
21:51 ^kat^ MQ-8B Fire Scout unmanned helicopter aboard the littoral combat ship USS Freedom (LCS 1)
23:20 rue_shop3 486-66 w/umc chipset
23:20 rue_shop3 386dx-40
23:21 at^ goes afk a bit to tirn on the foot roaster, get outa these steel toad boots,
23:21 ^kat^ i liked my 386DX 40
23:21 rue_shop3 486-66 with overdrive chip, all isa
23:21 rue_shop3 :)
23:21 ^kat^ for it's time, it was a pretty darned fast puter
23:22 ^kat^ i put a whopping huge 540 MB hdd in it, which i had to format at 528 megabytes, of course
23:22 ^kat^ afk, bbiaf
23:23 ^kat^ heck
23:23 ^kat^ i have files now that are 30 times bigger than that hdd
23:26 rue_shop3 Jax184, ^^ thats it
23:28 rue_shop3 Jax184, both of those 386 are surface mounted processors
23:35 ^kat^ bak
23:35 rue_shop3 do any welding today?
23:35 ^kat^ lots
23:36 ^kat^ last pic taken tonite is at http://designerthinking.com/images/2015_Sept/DSCF6741m.jpg
23:36 rue_shop3 I tried, but the world suddenly stacked up agianst me
23:36 ^kat^ 16ft long, 4ft wide, 2ft high
23:36 ^kat^ divided into 4 watertight sections (when it's done)
23:36 rue_shop3 wow, cool
23:36 rue_shop3 so thats one pontoon?
23:37 ^kat^ weighs ~1200 lbs (when done), floatation is to be 2400 lbs at 12 inches of draft, 6400 lbs max, 6800 at 24 inches as it goes under
23:37 rue_shop3 one of two?
23:37 ^kat^ yeas
23:37 ^kat^ yeas
23:37 ^kat^ but to make up for being 3 months behind, if i can get another 35 barrels i will prolly go with them, for ease of gettin down the road asap and getting into the water
23:38 ^kat^ i can make pods for 10 barrels and get 2400 lbs float per pod, te pod frame would weigh ~150lbs and the barrels weigh nothing
23:39 ^kat^ i loose 100 lbs floatation per corner of the deck, but still have some 8400 lbs of floatation, and in 48 separate sealed barrels
23:39 ^kat^ err, 40
23:39 ^kat^ but i can add more later
23:40 rue_shop3 does it take much to get it registered?
23:41 ^kat^ paperwork and $100 fee, iirc
23:41 rue_shop3 not bad
23:41 ^kat^ guy comes out and looks at it
23:41 rue_shop3 your gonna have the ultimate defiition of pleasure craft
23:41 ^kat^ doesn't even need to be finished or in the water, he said

23:44 Jax184 rue_shop3: what are the 386 boards?
23:44 rue_shop3 oh, brand?
23:44 Jax184 it's a 40 MHz board which I've been hoping to find
23:44 Jax184 are they still at hand? I'd love to know the models
23:44 rue_shop3 2 mins...
23:48 rue_shop3 oh damn, one of them is Done, battery corrosion everywehre
23:48 Jax184 which one is it?
23:48 rue_shop3 "unichip"
23:48 rue_shop3 the other...
23:49 rue_shop3 wow, they just didn't put labels on these things
23:49 rue_shop3 still searching for a name
23:49 Jax184 heh, yeah
23:49 Jax184 mine doesn't have a name anywhere on it either
23:50 Jax184 mine's an Asus, and I only know that because of the font of the model number
23:50 rue_shop3 "MB-1333/40UCA-B PCB VER:1"
23:50 rue_shop3 8 ram slots
23:50 ^kat^ the 586 "green house processor" was pretty good too, Intel was pissed they didn't get to use "586"
23:51 rue_shop3 math copro "IIT 4C87DLC-40"
23:51 Jax184 interesting
23:51 Jax184 does it have cache sockets?
23:51 rue_shop3 yup, loaded with CE81256A-20
23:52 Jax184 http://www.ebay.com/itm/American-Megatrends-MB-1333-40UCA-B-PCB-Ver-1-386-Biotaq-Motherboard-DX40-8MB-/111621771543 - is this the board?
23:53 rue_shop3 $149!?!?!
23:53 rue_shop3 yea, thats it
23:54 Jax184 ebay people are nuts
23:54 Jax184 okay
23:54 rue_shop3 battery of of course
23:54 rue_shop3 off
23:54 Jax184 well, I'm a tiny bit sad that it doesn't have 8 cache sockets, so it's not going to be taking 256k of cache, but that would otherwise be a good replacement for my dead board if you're not using it
23:56 rue_shop3 its prolly better to pass it to you, I marked with with "ok 5V only" which means its one of the board that only needs 5V to run, and therefore is easy to make run a robot, but I'm not really using the 386's for robots anymore
23:56 ^kat^ why not?
23:57 Jax184 what about the really corroded one, does it also have 4 cache sockets?
23:57 rue_shop3 linux dosn't like them, I'm not much in favor of using dos to run robots anymore
23:57 Jax184 I've had mixed luck reviving badly corrded boards
23:57 rue_shop3 yes its 4
23:57 ^kat^ is dos somehow bad for robots?
23:57 rue_shop3 you know, I wonder what I have in the meuseum
23:57 ^kat^ mewseeum
23:58 rue_shop3 oh, haha, its a different rev of the same board
23:58 rue_shop3 or is it
23:58 rue_shop3 "367C rev 1.0"
23:59 Jax184 ahh, so it is
