00:09 zhanx hopefully i can get free stuff
00:13 rue_house hmm
00:13 rue_house I wanted to post that video
13:03 y58928340 has had two puters clogging up the dsl for a day now, so much for saving power by shutting one
13:04 any58928340 still trying to figure out this one : Indiv_issue_Scans_Compiled_ocrd.pdf
13:05 any58928340 he OCR'd a mess of pdf files, making text files, then compiled them into a pdf so they aren't OCR'd text files any more
14:04 any58928340 no sun, high humidity (rain every day), moderate temperatures, so trailer paint is taking it's sweet time to dry
16:29 any58928340 i am sweating so much, i think i am spending more time wiping my eyes than working, and i am getting my personal saltwater all over the pretty steel
16:47 any58928340 just read a 1983 promo by Tektronix and some college working on fusion power, seems it's about to become a reality! maybe in 1984!
18:19 katsmeow-afk going to have weather tonite
18:20 katsmeow-afk the radar has been giving iffy images, and was just taken out by the storm
18:20 katsmeow-afk http://radblast.wunderground.com/cgi-bin/radar/WUNIDS_map?station=BMX&brand=wui&num=1&delay=15&type=N0R&frame=0&scale=1.000&noclutter=1&lat=33.59872055&lon=-86.27986145&label=Pell+City%2C+AL&showstorms=0&map.x=400&map.y=240&centerx=400&centery=240&transx=0&transy=0&showlabels=0&severe=0&rainsnow=1&lightning=1&smooth=0
18:21 katsmeow-afk http://radblast.wunderground.com/cgi-bin/radar/WUNIDS_map?station=BMX&brand=wui&num=1&delay=15&type=N0R&frame=0&scale=1.000&noclutter=1&lat=33.59872055&lon=-86.27986145&label=Pell+City%2C+AL&showstorms=0
19:03 katsmeow-afk storm is getting worse
21:12 katsmeow-afk i guess it doesn't matter
21:24 rue_house ok I planted the corms
21:24 rue_house corns even
21:31 katsmeow-afk in what?
21:33 rue_house the ground
21:34 rue_house I had to mak the ground
21:34 rue_house there was just a hole
21:34 rue_house and then I had to make holes in the ground I made to put dirt
21:35 Tom_itx yay! recovered my board
21:35 rue_house then I put the corn plants in the dirt
21:35 Tom_itx reloaded the FPGA etc
21:35 rue_house Tom_itx, yay, what about the buffers?
21:36 Tom_itx that's another board
21:36 rue_house oh
21:36 katsmeow-afk i never had good luck transplanting corn
21:37 rue_house it looks like its got a tap root
21:37 katsmeow-afk and tons of side roots
21:38 rue_house yea, noticed that too
21:38 rue_house the idea was to just get them out of the ground, then plant them
21:38 rue_house in 3 days they beat me to it
21:39 rue_house if(getkey() == ' ') {
21:39 rue_house fprintf(output, "1, 7, %f, %f, %f, %f, %f\n", INP.buffer.out[0], INP.buffer.out[1], INP.buffer.out[2], INP.buffer.out[3], INP.buffer.out[4]);
21:39 rue_house printf("Captured. %f\n", INP.buffer.out[0]);
21:39 rue_house fflush(output);
21:39 rue_house } else {
21:39 rue_house printf("\n");
21:39 rue_house }
21:39 rue_house for (i = 0; i < 8; i++) {
21:39 rue_house printf("Channel %d = %f\n", i, INP.buffer.out[i]);
21:39 rue_house }
21:39 rue_house the values being saved to the file aren't the same as the values being put on the screen
21:41 katsmeow-afk don't fflluushh till you are done pprrinnntiingg the valluueess?
21:42 katsmeow-afk but i dunno, i don't do C, i been told it will never be a widespread useful language
21:45 rue_house hum, well c++ wont
22:00 katsmeow-afk so measured the force needed to staticly (stationary, not rolling) bend some 1/8 steel at the spacing i chose for the rollers : 320 lbs per inch measured, i figure using 700 lbs capability as a minimum
22:01 katsmeow-afk pushing it, if the frame doesn't bend, 1000lbs per inch
22:01 katsmeow-afk the frame is a bit over 60 inches, for bending 60 inch wide plate
22:04 katsmeow-afk the bearings i chose to back up the rollers are rated a lil over 1000lbs , they mount in pairs on the top roller, in quads on the two bottom rollers, placing them 2 inches apart on top and 3 inches apart on bottom should satisfy bending any common steel up to 1/4 if the frame holds (?)
22:05 katsmeow-afk i still dunno what the torque is needed on the rollers
22:07 rue_house bending 1/4" plate?
22:08 katsmeow-afk the rollers are 1.25 dia , the bearings back them up to prevent them bending, but i dunno if they will twist off due to torque
22:09 katsmeow-afk i bent three 5ft wide 1/4 thich sheets before
22:09 katsmeow-afk pics online
22:09 katsmeow-afk i just need a faster way, a powered way, a way that won;t do more damage to my shoulders
22:17 katsmeow-afk http://designerthinking.com/images/bigboat/IMG_0056.jpg <<== 3 sheets , 5x8 ft, 1/4 thick, i rolled
22:19 katsmeow-afk and i changed boats, and changed from 1/4 hulls to 1/8, because i think i found a paint-on rust preventative that beats every actual paint i ever tried
22:42 katsmeow-afk hmm, Tiggr lists all these as "pony cars" : Plymouth Barracuda,Shelby GT350,Dodge Challenger,Pontiac Firebird,Mercury Cougar,Second-generation Chevrolet Camaro,AMC Javelin,Fourth-generation Chevrolet Camaro,Shelby Mustang,Mercury Capri,First-generation Chevrolet Camaro,Ford Mustang,Shelby GT500,Yenko Camaro,Third-generation Chevrolet Camaro,Chevrolet Camaro
23:03 katsmeow-afk https://duckduckgo.com/?q=%22mr.+robot%22+tv&ia=entertainment
23:08 rue_shop3 hahaha SWEET I can make and play back position files for the arms!
23:08 katsmeow-afk i think it has nothing to do with robots, but is about making money off a guy with a face that resembled the B1 Spirit bomber
23:09 rue_shop3 heh
23:09 katsmeow-afk congrats,, what arms? pics?
23:09 rue_shop3 youtube video?
23:09 rue_shop3 or pics...
23:09 rue_shop3 ?
23:10 katsmeow-afk pics of the arms, you said you have 6, i remember the one
23:10 rue_shop3 https://youtu.be/3N7DNfg4p9I
23:10 rue_shop3 I have 3 going now
23:10 rue_shop3 I'll post pics, give me some time
23:10 katsmeow-afk k
23:11 tsmeow-afk emails rue some
23:13 katsmeow-afk those 2 moving look like the one i remember you made a few yrs ago
23:13 katsmeow-afk you made more while no one was looking? ,, wait, you programmed the one to make more of itself?
23:19 rue_shop3 I was playing with the design, I had to make another one each time
23:19 katsmeow-afk oh
23:20 rue_shop3 testing this machine offline, biab
23:20 katsmeow-afk k
23:48 tsmeow-afk is going to severely hate drilling all those 1/2 inch holes in 1/4 wall tubing to mount the bear
23:49 katsmeow-afk 6 bearings, each with 2 holes, *thru* the tubing .... i gotta find a ,, but i did try to find a lighter solution
23:55 katsmeow-afk if you look at http://designerthinking.com/images/bigboat/IMG_0056.jpg carefully, you see a slight rise in the center of each plate, that's because one or all of the heavy plates in the brake were bending, and i used 1 inch thich plate a foot wide, and it would stretch-bend a visable amount
23:57 katsmeow-afk take a 6ft long plate, a foot wide, an inch thick, stand it up on the 1 inch thick, so it's a foot tall, secure one end down to the earth's core, and lift the other end, that's the way it was stretching-bending
23:58 katsmeow-afk the hard way
23:58 katsmeow-afk it was useable till my shoulders gave out
23:58 katsmeow-afk not really sure what caused that
