09:13 rue_house I bet he's just out of the 50pair packages and dialed up the price so nobody would buy it
09:16 katsmeow-afk maybe, but they could buy 3 of the 20-pair, and that's 10 more than the 50-pair
09:17 rue_house yup
09:17 rue_house whats it say for "available"
09:17 katsmeow-afk i didn't lookie
09:18 tsmeow-afk waits on the inter
09:18 katsmeow-afk http://www.ebay.com/itm/50pair-TIP35C-TIP36C-NPN-Power-Transistor-NEW-/351248252314
09:18 katsmeow-afk 9 available
09:21 katsmeow-afk hmm
09:22 rue_house dunno then
09:22 katsmeow-afk 1000 PCS FAIRCHILD SEMICONDUCTOR KSD2058YTU ; $13 + $21 s&h ; 60v 3amp ; to-220
09:23 katsmeow-afk http://www.ebay.com/itm/1000-PCS-FAIRCHILD-SEMICONDUCTOR-KSD2058YTU/361262548192
09:23 rue_house ok, why is it special?
09:23 katsmeow-afk if you total cost is $50 to win the auction, that's 5 cents per transistor
09:24 rue_house I avoid good deals for things Idont need
09:24 katsmeow-afk that's the only special,, good for lightweight 48v stuff, relays, etc, it's a dead slow transistor, but for 5 cents?
09:25 katsmeow-afk yeas, i need to buy big tools and steel
09:26 katsmeow-afk need current-mode pwm controllers?
09:27 rue_house not really
09:27 katsmeow-afk 1000 PCS FAIRCHILD SEMICONDUCTOR UC3842N ; $3 + $20 s&h ; Current-mode PWM controller
09:27 rue_house thats not dip at that price
09:27 katsmeow-afk for elbow and knee position servos?
09:28 rue_house how long do you think a 16V cap can take 19V?
09:28 rue_house >20hrs?
09:29 katsmeow-afk 20 pin "mini-dip", no pics or size data
09:29 katsmeow-afk no
09:29 katsmeow-afk if it's an old cap , it will last longer, the new caps i think blow up sooner
09:32 katsmeow-afk i could overvolt my Sansui psu by 6v, no problems, altho i made sure it was actually making music, and not idling, so the V would drop within spec sometimes
09:32 katsmeow-afk on the other paw, i had some 10v caps blow up pretty instantly at 12v
09:33 rue_house its not tant
09:33 katsmeow-afk that UC3842 looks like a fine switch mode psu sorta chip, prolly do fine duty as a motor controlelr too, with beefy driver transistors added
09:34 katsmeow-afk if one needs such a chip
09:34 rue_house its a popular one, with the 3843 and 3844 having different uvco iirc
09:35 katsmeow-afk i design so there's 20% undervolt on the caps, more if i can afford it, simply due to how the electrolytics are proven to age historically in old equipment
09:37 katsmeow-afk starting at 50% of rated voltage, the closer to rated volts the cap is used at, the sooner it dies, and at rated volts, that may be as short as a year, even if it isn't hot
09:37 rue_house I'm running 158% voltage
09:37 katsmeow-afk so at 12v, i might use a 16v cap, but not if it's "12v" in a car, where i'd use a 25v cap
09:38 katsmeow-afk 158%, you are going to get the trouble you seek, (charming nickname here)
09:40 rue_house the layers on the reprap aren't staying inline, I'm trying to work out why, I'm starting tot hink its roundoff in the firmware
09:40 katsmeow-afk wth, people now selling chips and transistors by the handfulls?? : http://www.ebay.com/itm/About-1000-PCS-Or-More-IC-GATES-MEMORY-CMOS-TTL-SEMICONDUCTOR-ASSORTMENT-LOT/251901282392
09:41 katsmeow-afk for serious guessing money too
09:41 rue_house somesone is purging a collection
09:41 rue_house $100, $10ship, $10 import
09:42 rue_house "er, no thanks"
09:42 katsmeow-afk but it's 6 cents per chip on some of those, and you don't get to pick what the chip IS !
09:42 rue_house ok Im late now

10:10 katsmeow-afk 390ps delay, 1Ghz typical
10:13 katsmeow-afk actually, with 2v-0.8v inputs, it could translate almost any non-ecl logic family

20:28 rue_shop3 ?
20:29 Tom_itx not enough water around here for that
20:30 Tom_itx we had _one_ hail storm last week where the wind blew down a bunch of stuff
20:33 katsmeow-afk forecast says you have tonadoes wednesday
22:27 katsmeow-afk "the children's mother finally admitted to raising the children as siblings, and letting them attend school as normal children do."
22:29 katsmeow-afk "the brother and sister were never told of this relationship, not discovering they were actually siblings until 9th grade english classes"
22:33 katsmeow-afk "you can protect yourself from carbon monoxide by not breathing"
23:13 katsmeow-afk rue, would you happen to have a lcd monitor in pieces, working?
23:41 katsmeow-afk Liquid crystals were first discovered in 1888.[3] By 2008, annual sales of televisions with LCD screens exceeded sales of CRT units
23:42 katsmeow-afk In 1888, Friedrich Reinitzer (1858–1927) discovered the liquid crystalline nature of cholesterol extracted from carrots
23:46 rue_shop3 I ahve lots that need to be in peices?
23:47 katsmeow-afk i was wondering what wold happen if the lcd portion worked, and you removed the white-light-maker , and held a red led in your hand where the white lite is supposed to come from
23:48 katsmeow-afk and moved the led around whi;e the computer was sending an image to the lcd
