00:34 katsmeow-afk http://spaceflightnow.com/2015/02/07/dscovr-mission-status-center/
00:49 katsmeow-afk so the TDS sensor arrived, my water is apparently 6ppm , so yeas, i can make cleaner water outa creek water than the local water company can deliver to me
04:49 rue_more whats the TDS of the city water?
11:21 katsmeow rue, i didn't have a TDS tester then, but i did have eyes : http://designerthinking.com/images/DSCF1851m.jpg
11:28 katsmeow a TDS is pretty low. I tested the infeed to my RO filter to be 45, which is still low.
11:28 katsmeow umm
11:29 katsmeow a TDS of 6 is pretty low. I tested the infeed to my RO filter to be 45, which is still low.
11:29 katsmeow i need to teach my puter to not take what i type as always being a command
11:31 katsmeow i have a 0.5 micron filter followed by a carbon filter, to get the TDS low with cheaper filters before going into the pricier RO filter
11:32 katsmeow i know the 0.5 micron isn't removing TDS , but it removes gunk before the carbon filter, so it will last longer, and carbons do remove some TDS like smell
12:02 katsmeow The Falcon 9's first and second stages measure 12 feet in diameter, and the SpaceX-built payload fairing housing the Deep Space Climate Observatory spacecraft is 17 feet in diameter (5.2 meters) and 43 feet tall.
12:04 katsmeow "The 224-foot-tall Falcon 9 rocket has been rolled out and rotated vertical ...." and they will light that thing and it will lift off the ground and shove a 1250lb hunk of electronics into space some million miles away, but talk about a seastead 50ft above the water and humans get all scaredy
12:07 katsmeow hmm, "fuscous" is an adjective word, so "fuscy" would be an adverbial word , but it might be considered racial
14:22 rue_more wow, thats bad city water
14:29 rue_more hmm, sketch of some kind of huge relay bank on my note page
14:30 rue_more 16x5x18?
14:30 rue_more ah, there's the shopping list.
18:19 useless-afk no space launch
18:20 Tom_itx seems there is always just one more obstacle to success
18:20 useless-afk yep, bad wifi to the airforce tracking station
18:21 useless-afk i can hear someone laughing about that at the usa, but i cannot tell who
18:25 useless-afk "hey Igor, you doing anything? lets surface and mess with the radio for that new spy sat the americans want to launch tonite!"
20:02 rue_more "The floor has inflicted irreperable damage to the cup"
20:04 Tom_itx rue_more, have you looked at core X Y?
20:08 rue_more what is it and why would I?
20:10 Tom_itx reprap
20:11 Tom_itx the table doesn't move in x y
20:11 Tom_itx just in z
20:11 Tom_itx more stable for prints
20:11 rue_more I think its a waste of time to hop onto every new bandwagon :)
20:11 Tom_itx better quality
20:11 Tom_itx no
20:11 rue_more there are no stability prolems with current prints
20:11 Tom_itx if that were the case we would still be riding in horse and buggy
20:12 rue_more "every new"
20:12 rue_more "fad"
20:12 Tom_itx this seems more stable
20:12 rue_more I'm happy to wait for them to settle out
20:12 Tom_itx just wondered if you'd seen one
20:13 Tom_itx somebody is building a reprap and may use that design
20:13 Tom_itx marlin supports it
20:13 rue_more I think I'v seen one that looked like that at the maker faire
20:13 rue_more there is no operation difference to a meldel
20:13 rue_more its just an xyz
20:14 Tom_itx the table doesn't jiggle back and forth as much
20:14 Tom_itx well.. at all
20:14 rue_more jiggle?
20:14 rue_more heh
20:14 Tom_itx causing the melted plastic to wiggle on a tall print
20:14 Tom_itx keeping it stuck to the table better
20:14 rue_more I think your getting caught up in the media
20:14 Tom_itx no
20:14 Tom_itx it's designed like a draftsman's table
20:15 rue_more next your gonna tell me that having a bed thats .00002" within flat just isn't good enough
20:15 rue_more even tho your putting tape on it to get the print to stick :)
20:15 Tom_itx ok i promise i'll not say anything more about reprap to you.
20:15 rue_more hah
20:16 rue_more I'm just saying, I dont jump on everything new when it comes out (dear god, can you imaging how many dead end microcontrollers I could have gotten into in the last 6 years?) and that reprap has a lot of halarious hype about pointless things
20:18 rue_more so why do you vote for having the head move instead of the bed?
20:18 Tom_itx can't say
20:19 rue_more I'v played for quite a long time with cnc machine designs, there is always the same slop in the system, all you can do is move it around
20:20 Tom_itx did i mention i found a signal isolator for that drive?
20:20 Tom_itx working on code for the fwd/rev relay
20:20 rue_more for a good cost? sweeeet
20:20 Tom_itx so it switches while the drive is in inhibit
20:20 Tom_itx no current switching
20:21 Tom_itx the code worked but the inhibit relay was switching .3ms behind the other one in the code
20:21 Tom_itx so i have to add a delay element to it
20:21 Tom_itx more complicated than it started out to be
20:21 Tom_itx but it's nearly done now
20:22 Tom_itx i'll hold the inhibit relay long enough for the fwd/rev one to switch then enable it
20:23 Tom_itx i think you'd like coding with linuxcnc if you ever tried it
20:24 rue_more I'v run into a higher problem
20:24 rue_more toolchain
20:25 rue_more I'm having troubles finding cam software
20:32 useless-afk "It is rain that grows flowers, not thunder. So stfu and piss off."
20:33 useless-afk <cough>
20:35 useless-afk boat half crushed by half of a bridge: http://www.miamiherald.com/news/local/community/miami-dade/lkujmy/picture4250444/alternates/FREE_960/bridge%20crash.JPG
20:35 Tom_itx what sort of cam software?
20:35 Tom_itx some use cambam
20:36 Tom_itx sheetcam
20:36 Tom_itx for 2d
20:36 Tom_itx i could shoot a copy of mine
20:36 rue_more to take the dxf and allow me to toolpath it and generate the gcode
20:37 rue_more kat, I wonder who faulted on that one
20:37 Tom_itx there's a guy writing that right now
20:37 Tom_itx i think for his lathe though
20:37 rue_more mastercam
20:37 Tom_itx it's in python
20:37 rue_more but I dont do windows
20:37 Tom_itx mine was better than mastercam at the time
20:38 rue_more there is pycam, but I have to look at it longer
20:38 Tom_itx you will if you want a good cam program
20:39 rue_more a good free cam package will come along for linuzx
20:39 rue_more 75 usb AB cables, almost all still in their package
20:39 rue_more I'm gonna have an ebay hayday
20:41 rue_more 30 dvi cables
20:42 useless-afk do you know, if i pop the bumper-trim off the seadoo hull, can i separate the top and bottom halfs of the hull?
20:42 rue_more no idea
20:44 Tom_itx you could load solidworks and get a cam for it
20:45 rue_more I'm not into solidworks yet
20:45 rue_more I'd like to start with just pathing out 2d dxfs
20:45 rue_more trace, pocket, drill
20:49 Tom_itx he has some python routines you should look at
20:51 Tom_itx http://gnipsel.com/files/g-code-generator/
20:51 Tom_itx grab the latest ver and look at it
21:13 rue_shop2 oh man, i put an 8400dpi laser mouse on this DOS machine and its SO much better
21:19 rue_shop2 ok having a 4ch kbm switch really helps this desk
21:21 Tom_itx http://tom-itx.no-ip.biz:81/~webpage/cnc/temp/logic1.jpg
21:21 Tom_itx delay relay works
22:01 euKat aaaEghhhhiilnnoosstttwwy
22:02 euKat oh, wait, that's English anyhow
22:02 euKat alphabetised
