00:13 TELunus I wonder when I managed to do that.
00:26 rue_shop2 the inrush current on the motor
00:26 rue_shop2 start it up soft next time ;)
12:24 TELunus You mean start with a low dutycycle pwm? Because my first tests were with too low a duty cycle even to start the motor.
12:25 TELunus I guess I slowly ramp it up from 0 to the target though.
12:29 rue_more yup
12:29 Tom_itx feelin better?
12:29 rue_more no
12:29 rue_more im worse than yesterday
12:29 Tom_itx still in my throat but i feel better
12:29 rue_more wtf
12:33 rue_more http://www.ebay.ca/itm/SOIC8-SOP8-to-DIP8-EZ-Programmer-Adapter-Socket-Converter-Module-With-150mil-/121297017880
12:33 rue_more I got one of those
12:34 rue_more so I suppose I can use it to try out my dac chip
14:43 TELunus I was going to say perhaps I should throw an inductor in series with the motor to reduce inrush, but I guess the motor already has a much higher inductance than I would be adding eh?
15:08 rue_more is it a disability motor? the inrush for say 12V can be over 100A
15:08 rue_more depending
15:08 rue_more the problem is that if you add an inductor, the disconnect voltage spike will bite any semiconductors you have in there
