00:15 katsmeow-afk no, i simply offset the blocks
00:16 katsmeow-afk i did not use bearings because i wanted the takeup rod to have the added tension for consistant wire wrap on it
00:16 katsmeow-afk steel wire
00:16 katsmeow-afk you'd wanna use bearings for copper wire
00:17 katsmeow-afk just lay out a zig-zag path , up-down, and then left-right
00:17 katsmeow-afk guides tween bearings to keep the wire on the bearings
00:18 katsmeow-afk ideally, you'd power every other roller/bearing to keep the wire moving
00:18 katsmeow-afk because if you pull too hard on kinky wire, it obviously breaks
01:39 rue_shop2 its steal wire
01:40 rue_shop2 00o direction
01:40 rue_shop2 01o direction
01:40 rue_shop2 03P speed
01:40 rue_shop2 27P speed
01:40 rue_shop2 08a voltage 1
01:40 rue_shop2 09a voltage 2
01:40 rue_shop2 10a voltage 3
01:40 rue_shop2 11a voltage 4
01:42 rue_shop2 008,00685
01:42 rue_shop2 009,00448
01:42 rue_shop2 010,00227
01:42 rue_shop2 011,00907
01:43 rue_shop2 08 is at 11.99V
01:43 rue_shop2 no
01:43 rue_shop2 oh my...
01:43 katsmeow-afk ????
01:44 rue_shop2 10 is at 11.99V
01:44 rue_shop2 227 = 11.99V
01:44 rue_shop2 .053V/count
01:45 rue_shop2 ok
01:46 rue_shop2 so the voltages are 11.99, 23.66, 36.18, 47.91
01:46 rue_shop2 (taps on a 48V bank)
01:47 rue_shop2 root@freebee5:/files/doc/pdf/microcontrollers/avr# calc "i*.05282(i=920)"
01:47 rue_shop2 i*.05282(i=920) -->> 48.594400
01:48 rue_shop2 went up, huh
01:48 rue_shop2 when that hits 44V I need to shut down and charge
01:51 katsmeow-afk i has a suggestion: don't monitor the 44/56v, monitor the 12v/14v separately
01:52 katsmeow-afk you could have a bad battery, have 49v total, and one 12v battery is only 10v
01:53 katsmeow-afk 13 + 13 + 13 + 10 = 49v
01:53 katsmeow-afk you'd be thinking you had
01:53 katsmeow-afk 12.25 + 12.25 + 12.25 + 12.25 = 49v
02:35 rue_shop2 thats why i measure all the taps
02:37 rue_shop2 hmm so if I kick the motors in hard, the controller resets
11:49 lolina8088 Good Mooooooooooorning!
11:50 m_itx
12:37 rue_bed TOOO EARLY for morning
12:38 rue_bed I drank too much tea
12:38 rue_bed <rue_shop2> so the voltages are 11.99, 23.66, 36.18, 47.91
12:38 rue_bed what are the deltas
12:38 rue_bed 11.99,
12:39 rue_bed 11.67,
12:39 rue_bed 12.52,
12:40 rue_bed 11.73
12:40 katsmeow-afk that begs for the solution everyone has laughed at me about: individual 14v chargers
12:41 rue_bed oh it totally needs balancing, I know that
12:41 Tom_itx i missed the laughter
12:41 rue_bed this is the first multi battery robot like this for me
12:41 katsmeow-afk even rue said it was too pricey
12:41 Tom_itx rue's butt squeaks he's so tight
12:41 katsmeow-afk but it's bloody real problem in series batteries
12:41 Tom_itx you know that
12:42 rue_bed kat, how about a 48V charger and a balancer?
12:43 katsmeow-afk how about it?
12:44 rue_house you dont like that solution?
12:45 katsmeow-afk i didn't see a solution
13:37 tsmeow-afk cannot lift her 5 gallon bucket of starter motors to show
13:41 katsmeow-afk pondering an intermittant 100amp into a small starter motor, if with a moderate load, it takes 75vdc to push 100amps into the motor at 3000 rpm, that's intermitantly 7500 watts, or 10hp, *that* should make a robot real jumpy
13:42 katsmeow-afk 80 legs @ 10hp = 80hp, traveling down the highway at 180mpg
13:42 katsmeow-afk mph
13:42 katsmeow-afk intermittantly, of course
13:44 katsmeow-afk it's neat how some router motors look like starter motors inside, and get 1 or 2hp ratings
13:46 katsmeow-afk in brushed motors, roughly speaking: amps = torque, volts = rpm
14:00 rue_house in brushless motors roughly speaking, amps = rpm, volts = max rpm
21:22 rue_house Lolina8088, :( arg, ran out of time for boxes
21:22 rue_house but somethig is wrong,
21:22 Lolina8088 ??
21:22 rue_house although I remember yesterday, it didn't exist, tommorow dosn't either, and everything around me is somehow fake
21:23 Lolina8088 close your eyes
21:23 Lolina8088 (ha ha you can't read this)
21:23 rue_house hah, your right, I didn't see you type it
21:23 Lolina8088 :D
21:24 Lolina8088 You need a hug
