00:36 rue_shop2 2.5mm long?
00:37 bigselfindulgent yeas
00:49 rue_shop2 kat, maybe its pine based tar
00:51 rue_shop2 I asembled the boiler for the shop
00:51 rue_shop2 it still needs interconnect and wiring
00:51 rue_shop2 I'm confident there will be heat in the shop this year
00:57 bigselfindulgent not going to run it off the same boiler as the house?
00:57 bigselfindulgent same style?
00:58 bigselfindulgent no bigger than your shot is, and insulated too, almost any small woodburner should throw 60,000 btu and be so hot in there you havetoleave the door open
00:58 bigselfindulgent you gotta be cocerned about smoke tho, with close neighbors
00:59 bigselfindulgent i was thinking a water fogger in a particle settling chamber on the smoke pipe before it exits
01:02 bigselfindulgent i haveto be concerned about hot bits leaving the chimney
01:06 rue_house no, shop has a little electric tank
01:06 rue_house only needs about 300W of heat
01:10 bigselfindulgent kewl an electric tank, like a Panzer, or a boxy Sherman?
01:11 rue_house drat I'm falling asleep
01:12 rue_house tea, maybe I should have tead
01:22 useless-afk psu is delivering 58.7 watts @ 14.75v, pulling 68 w from wall plug , so it's throwing 9.3 watts as heat, into two 3/4 inch x 4 inch flat aluminum strips,, and the transformer is getting hot as heck, with the case open and fan blowing on it
01:22 useless-afk advertised as 15v 5amp laptop psu
01:22 useless-afk it will eventually melt if i pull 5amps constantly from it
01:28 rue_house prolly peak rating
01:38 eless-afk
01:46 rue_house can kats get tetnis?
01:54 useless-afk the game?
01:54 useless-afk tetanus the disease?
01:55 rue_house one of the cats got a cut on her leg, and is acting a little too sensitive about it
01:55 useless-afk the answer is yeas
01:56 useless-afk what caused the cut?
01:57 useless-afk tetanus will cause the major muscles to spasm, lock up, the whole body will get uncontrollably stiff, maybe contorted
01:57 rue_house I dont know, I cant even get a ggood look at it
01:57 useless-afk it's generally fatal in animals because they can't say what's going on
01:57 rue_house well shes just hopping on the leg
01:58 useless-afk is it bleeding?
01:58 useless-afk is she moving the muscle the cut is on?
01:59 useless-afk got any old antibiotics?
02:01 eless-afk tosses an url to rue : http://www.marvistavet.com/html/tetanus_in_pets.html
02:09 useless-afk gnites
07:58 jennie hello rue_
10:42 rue_bed kat, have you ever heard of intentionally heating a transistor to make an amplifier more thermally stable?
10:42 rue_bed jennie, hi, who are you?
11:06 jennie I am jennie
11:06 jennie you forgot ?
11:08 rue_house hmm k
11:09 jennie
http://pastebin.com/sis2UEaG
11:09 jennie this may remind you.
11:09 jennie I have more logs
11:10 rue_house all good thanks
11:30 jennie How are you ?
11:57 rue_shop2 awake, this is a start
12:06 useless-afk rue, yeas, all the time
12:09 useless-afk A crystal oven is a temperature-controlled chamber used to maintain the quartz crystal in electronic crystal oscillators at a constant temperature, in order to prevent changes in the frequency due to variations in ambient temperature.
12:09 useless-afk More at Wikipedia
12:09 useless-afk we useto put transistors in them too
12:10 useless-afk Mk-1 Crystal Oven. With my first QRSS 30 Mtr TX I wanted to be as sure as I could be that the stability would be acceptable both to myself and other QRSS operators so I decided to oven the entire crystal oscillator circuit assembly.

20:14 eless-afk wonders how the 8:1 belt drive is working for
20:17 useless-afk a 2000 rpm motor turning 8:1 driving a 12" bike tire = 8.5 mph

21:01 rue_shop2 kat, if its not from the usa, do tell me, all that stuff is +50 s&h
21:01 useless-afk Fits Ryobi 9-Inch Band Saw ?? 9 inch ??
21:02 rue_shop2 shop bandsaw needs new blade
21:02 rue_shop2 did since I got it
21:02 useless-afk US $16.82 (approx. C $17.33) International Priority Shipping to Canada
21:02 rue_shop2 if you can twist hard enough without it stalling, you can almost cut a line
21:02 eless-afk never saw a bandsaw only 9 inches
21:03 rue_shop2 deep
21:03 useless-afk hmm, the blade is set wrong if it cuts circles
21:04 useless-afk there's a science to bandswa blade teeths
21:04 rue_shop2 the teeth are all in a line
21:04 rue_shop2 no rake
21:04 rue_shop2 its not - _ - _ - _ - _ - _
21:04 rue_shop2 its - - - - - - - -
21:04 rue_shop2 I staggered them once, didn't last long
21:05 eless-afk
21:05 useless-afk you can get wavey sets oem
21:05 rue_shop2 I may or may not get a new blade, its not a spectacular saw, it was free
21:05 useless-afk it's $2.99 s&h to here
21:06 rue_shop2 there is a REALLY nice one in my basement, but a bunch of its cast alum parts crumbled
21:06 rue_shop2 I'm sort int eh process of making new pieces
21:07 rue_shop2 there is a larger boiler tank I got quite a while back
21:07 rue_shop2 to get the electrode out (I need the hole) I had to weld a handle on it and smash the hell out of it to get it to turn
21:08 eless-afk hands rue a 6 gallong heavy LP pressure tank for $4 + $250 s&a
21:08 rue_shop2 heh
21:08 rue_shop2 iirc its a 100gal
21:09 rue_shop2 it should do about 1hr of heat reserve
21:09 rue_shop2 (under load)
21:09 useless-afk you know the gotcha with those, right?
21:09 rue_shop2 no
21:10 useless-afk the exhaust temperature of the hot gasses will be 10 over the tank temperature, so if youo have it "charged" to a 1hr reserve, the temperature up the chimney will be much higher than you'd like to see
21:10 rue_shop2 this isn't a new exchanger
21:10 rue_shop2 its a heat storage tank
21:10 useless-afk so you need a second exhanger to capture that hot exhaust to rout to the house
21:11 useless-afk i understand it's a tank
21:11 rue_shop2 right now I ahve a 40gal tank
21:11 rue_shop2 the temp otu the chimney is way higher than I want, but I dont have a good rad to put on after the tube exchanger
21:12 rue_shop2 the idea was to take the post-exchanger heat and use it to preheat the incomming combustion air
21:13 useless-afk ok
21:14 useless-afk how long is the chimney pipe?
21:14 rue_shop2 about 24"
21:14 rue_shop2 maybe 18ish
21:14 useless-afk oh,,, to short
21:14 useless-afk can you run it over the shop roof and make it 20ft long?
21:15 rue_shop2 http://eds.dyndns.org/~ircjunk/projects/heatplant/p1030621-gantry.jpg
21:16 rue_shop2 oh heh, its decapitated
21:16 useless-afk then what is the 6ft thing on topof the shed?
21:18 rue_shop2 just an orniment now
21:18 rue_shop2 I cant put the boiler in the shed
21:18 rue_shop2 the system is really good at generating wood gas, and when you open the door, it all sneakes out, when the mix is just right, it all lights up
21:19 useless-afk umm, i thought the point of the shed was to put the boiler into it
21:19 rue_shop2 large spontanious flame
21:19 rue_shop2 it was
21:19 rue_shop2 that plan isn't working
21:19 useless-afk humans are too confusing
21:19 useless-afk [21:03] <useless-afk> i don't understand, if i intend to use the same code in two or more window widgets, i am not allowed to use your gui lib?
21:19 rue_shop2 with all the fire that leaks out the door of the boiler I cant put it in that shed
21:20 useless-afk but it was a downdraft system, it should suck the fire in
21:20 rue_shop2 the top(by design) fills with woodgas
21:21 rue_shop2 I'll try to film adding fuel to it next time I have it running
21:21 rue_shop2 when the blower stops, you can light the gas sneaking out around the door on fire
21:22 useless-afk why stop the blower?
21:22 rue_shop2 http://eds.dyndns.org/~ircjunk/projects/heatplant/p1020907.jpg
21:22 rue_shop2 too much heat
21:23 rue_shop2 the house cant absorb it fast enough,
21:23 rue_shop2 and for when the hosue is hot enough
21:23 useless-afk isn't that when you add the heat to the resivoir and let the blower run tillt he fuel runs out?
21:24 rue_shop2 no, but its a good suggestion for operation change
21:24 rue_shop2 I'm just kinda reviewing changes in operation
21:24 useless-afk o
21:24 rue_shop2 I'd play now, but tehhosue it just fine for heat
22:30 Tom_itx did you ever pipe in the shop floor?
22:44 zhanx evening
