01:23 katsmeow-afk err, not 4014,, 4016
01:42 katsmeow-afk With the release of 3.0. Microsoft has finally delivered on Windows' potential. The latest version of this operating environment is a full-featured graphical user interface complete with sculpted 3-D buttons, full-color icons, and masterful multitasking. Microsoft used graphic artists to design 3.0's interface, and it shows. The well-chosen colors and dithering support create varied and subtle shades.
01:42 katsmeow-afk Windows' improvements start with installation. Now a single version of the program supports 8086, 80286, and 80386 PCs; and the setup process is streamlined and simple. Although Windows will run on an 8088-/8086-based machine, you really need a 286 or 386 to tap the program's power.
01:43 katsmeow-afk With an 80286 and at least one megabyte of memory, Windows can multitask Windows applications and run almost any DOS program. With an 80386 and at least two megabytes, Windows can multitask Windows and DOS applications, and it can even run DOS programs in resizable windows.
01:44 katsmeow-afk The PS/l's 10-MHz 286 processor
01:44 katsmeow-afk may not represent the cutting edge of
01:44 katsmeow-afk CPU technology, but it's powerful
01:44 katsmeow-afk enough to run all but the largest MSDOS
01:44 katsmeow-afk programs.
02:42 katsmeow-afk 2Mb of RAM on motherboard ; 40Mb hard drive ; 64K SRAM read/write-back cache ; • 1.2Mb and 1.44Mb floppies ; • 12 " VGA gray scale monitor ; keyboard ; • Microsoft® Windows™3.0 and mouse ; 386SX/16 all for only $1,990
03:49 katsmeow-afk For more than a year, the 4,703 Cougar Ace Mazdas sit in a huge parking lot in Portland, Oregon. Then, in February 2008, the cars are loaded one by one onto an 8-foot-wide conveyor belt. It lifts them 40 feet and drops them inside a Texas Shredder,
03:49 katsmeow-afk Inside the machine, 26 hammers — weighing 1,000 pounds each — smash each car into fist-sized pieces in two seconds. The chunks are then spit out the back side. Though most of the cars appeared to be unharmed, they had spent two weeks at a 60-degree angle. Mazda can't be sure that something isn't wrong with them.
03:50 katsmeow-afk Rather than risk lawsuits down the line, Mazda has decided to scrap the entire shipment.
05:38 katsmeow-afk see the 2-pin connector on http://www.ebay.com/itm/281009753914 ? where can i get chassis mount pairs of those?
08:34 rue_bed heh, they merged that badly eh?
08:34 rue_bed I'll see if I can digikey its nema type
08:49 katsmeow-afk well, that didn't work, but it prooves you just need to experiment sometimes: the lil cordless drill pulls 7amps easy when driving a big bit , and 10amps if the bit grabs
08:50 katsmeow-afk which is why i switched to useing small riding mower batteries
08:50 katsmeow-afk that 120vac plug has a nema type?

09:21 rue_house katsmeow-afk, its called C7 I think
09:22 rue_house maybe not
09:23 rue_house IEC 320 C8

09:25 rue_house yup
09:26 rue_house c8 is the socket, c7 is the cord

09:27 rue_house ^^^ katsmeow-afk
09:28 rue_house is it bad to say I got my starndards organizations mixed up?
09:52 katsmeow-afk the browser keeps cycling waiting, connecting, conected, waiting

09:56 katsmeow-afk The website is too busy to show the webpage
09:56 katsmeow-afk HTTP 408/HTTP 409
09:59 katsmeow-afk there's no mating part that Digikey or Mouser epecifies
10:02 katsmeow-afk i haveto go buy pvc cement :-/
14:23 katsmeow-afk rue, looks like the IEC C7 to mate with the C8 , is not made in a chassis mount, it's cord-end only
14:24 katsmeow-afk https://www.google.com/search?q=IEC+C7&client=firefox-a&hs=sSh&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=-qc4UqDoLYuY9gSp-YD4Bg&ved=0CGUQsAQ&biw=964&bih=478&dpr=1

15:19 katsmeow-afk rue, price on the 74F07 works out to 2 cents each
15:19 katsmeow-afk so qty 500 chips is $10 , not $7
17:39 katsmeow-afk got an email from ebay, telling me to enjoy my 74F07,,, they must have a wierd idea of what one does with these parts
19:05 rue_house oh kat, you want a supply end thats chassis mount?
19:07 rue_house I bought 4 terminal pcb munt terminal blocks, but I'm not sure what project they are for
19:07 rue_house I shoudl put a note on this stuff so I know
19:09 rue_house I'm sure it was for the motor drivers

19:21 rue_house ^^ thats what I think your asking for now
19:22 rue_house katsmeow-afk,
19:24 rue_house haha looks like mouser has stock?
19:24 rue_house oh, no thats the manuf

19:28 rue_house not what you want
19:37 rue_house it looks like it would be easier to use a north american receplicle and refit a cord end to mount it to the card
20:02 rue_house "oh, ..your human?" "yea." "what a f---- dissapointment."
20:03 rue_house kat, aside from kigikey, I cant find those panel mount female C7's anywhere
20:43 katsmeow-afk http://www.digikey.com/product-search/en?x=0&y=0&lang=en&site=us&KeyWords=Q269-ND is the male

21:11 tsmeow-afk s
21:30 rue_house I alsmost dozed off again
21:30 rue_house 2 hours went by
22:17 Tom_itx almost?
22:22 katsmeow-afk several places locally sell 2-pin polarised extension cord ends, they are huge and have very high insertion/removeal resistance, but if i remount those to be panel mounts, they are good for 15 amps
22:23 katsmeow-afk they are also in the $1.35 each range
22:23 katsmeow-afk definately NOT zif sockets tho
22:30 katsmeow-afk i left msg at http://www.schurter.com
22:46 Tom_itx i passed a message to rifraf about your solar question
22:46 Tom_itx he's at work atm
22:46 Tom_itx and i'm at sleep atm
22:49 RifRaf katsmeow-afk, hi, have forgotten most of my solar panel stuff but will dig up wat i can after work
22:49 katsmeow-afk heys Rif !
22:49 katsmeow-afk thanks, Tom
22:50 katsmeow-afk i had a practical question about the encapsulation
22:50 katsmeow-afk i remember you did it by just pouring the stuff into a really leveled frame, glass, and cells in it, and then debubbled the space tween the cells and glass ?
22:51 katsmeow-afk i don't feel the need to spend tons of money on the silicone sealant liquid
22:51 RifRaf yep level frame, and used the sopecial stuff, will get names this arvo
22:51 katsmeow-afk but i know if i dip the cells, or paint the sealer on, it will absolutely not seal the edges well
22:52 katsmeow-afk Sylgard 184
22:52 RifRaf was tricky to get it to flow under them all but it worked with only minor bubbles
22:52 RifRaf thats the one
22:52 RifRaf have to get back to work now sorry, will be back when i can
22:52 katsmeow-afk so, instead, what if i apply a silicone sealant from a 20 oz caulking tube to the edges,
22:53 katsmeow-afk i will be in bed later,, i talk, you log, you answer later, i log, i answer later, ok?
22:54 katsmeow-afk the silicone caulk is stiff, gooey, stays put on the sharp edges, i let it set, then i paint on the pricey Sylgard on the flat surfaces, how does that strike your fancy?
22:55 katsmeow-afk more than the price of the sylgard bothers me, it's also a thermal insulator, and it glues the cell to the glass so the glass and the cell haveto expand at the same rate, else the cells crakc, and finally if the cells are heavily gooed down they are more difficult to repair
22:57 katsmeow-afk if i use as little Sylgard as i physically can, then i can use one small dallop of the silicone caulk to hold each cell, and there's gaps tween the cells and the glass front and the backing material to circulate some gas or liquid to pick up heat
22:58 katsmeow-afk severely dehydrated air comes to mind, so does using a bottle of nitrogen or argon
22:58 katsmeow-afk i think liquid would need so much anti-corrosion additives (so the cells will last 20 years in the stuff) that it would interfere with the sunlight
23:00 katsmeow-afk instead of deep immersion of the cells, i seal each cell, i seal the wiring, i glue each cell in only one small place to the glass and count on the panel backing to keep them in place, and i seal the edges of the assy well with 35yr silicone caulk
23:03 tsmeow-afk is fast falling asleep, and will eagerly read your comments when she wakes back up tomo
23:06 tsmeow-afk will dream of ways to pinch the fiberglass cloth to form "holding cells" and at the same time make the back sti
23:06 katsmeow-afk zzzzzzzzzzz
