19:48 iamturnip rue_house: any interest from your work for Astra or Nortel phones?
20:17 rue_house aastra!?
20:17 iamturnip yup
20:18 rue_house oo, nortel is +-
20:18 rue_house can you snap me some rouch pics?

20:21 rue_house 1.2kva?
20:23 iamturnip dont think so on the UPS
20:23 iamturnip nortel I have a lot of will make list shortly
20:23 iamturnip early next week maybe
20:25 rue_house phones or systems?
20:25 rue_house I can help you sor it quick without any part numbers even
20:26 iamturnip phones only
20:26 rue_house grey or black
20:26 iamturnip black
20:27 rue_house are the buttons on the right square or half round
20:27 iamturnip mix
20:28 rue_house the 'squarish' phones are the old ones, people are less interested in them
20:28 rue_house the 'roundish' phones are newer, people are more interested in them
20:28 rue_house two basic modles, 7208 and 7316 the --16 are reception phones generally worth more
20:29 rue_house did the equipment come from camile at clearlines?
20:30 rue_house cause if he's getting rid of it, its no good :)
20:30 iamturnip no they came from...i forget where
20:30 rue_house I'm interested in the aastra stuff, ip phones? analog multiline?
20:30 rue_house I'm pretty intereted in ip sets
20:31 iamturnip analog
20:31 iamturnip on the astra
20:31 iamturnip though i have IP phones too
20:31 iamturnip the nortels came from a D/T client who did an upgrade
20:31 iamturnip to VOIP i think
20:32 rue_house ok
20:32 iamturnip anyways, if its for you we can trade etc, if its for your company I can do them cheap
20:33 rue_house I dont know if work is into stocking phones, but if not, you could probably get soemthing for the nortel phones from assosciated telephone in vancouver, they take them in for rebuild sometimes.
20:33 rue_house we do have interest in multiline analog phones
20:34 rue_house I have a client right now that wants a set of 4
20:34 iamturnip well let me see what i can put togethe ver the wekeend
20:35 rue_house I have a holiday comming up
20:35 rue_house and maker faire
20:35 zhanx rue_house, what you think of the progress this evening?
20:35 rue_house what is it z?
20:36 zhanx the chest mold for my new robot, gonna vacuum formit
20:36 rue_house OH!
20:36 zhanx making myself build the outside first
20:36 rue_house can you vacuum form on that foam without it crushing or melting?
20:36 zhanx https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-D7gL72p2JOI/UYRV91DOPVI/AAAAAAAADzU/lSjWW3ur7Ko/s512/2429.jpg
20:36 zhanx yes
20:36 zhanx i have to coat it in bondo and not get thinner than 1/4"
20:37 rue_house ah
20:37 zhanx bondo helps get it smooth and the thicker the better on it
20:37 rue_house yup
20:38 zhanx i got two sheets of foam left over from another project
20:38 rue_house what did you use the glue the foam?
20:38 rue_house white glue?
20:38 zhanx the neck is next to rough in. 3m spray glue. lesson learned remove the plastic coating
20:39 zhanx roughing in the neck and gluing up the head tomorrow
20:41 rue_house http://www.ebay.ca/itm/SG90-9G-Micro-Mini-Servos-Futaba-walkera-Hitec-HS-55-For-TREX-450-Helicoper-New-/230869331460
20:41 rue_house ?
20:42 rue_house http://www.ebay.ca/itm/E-Epress-4PCS-SG90-Mini-Gear-Micro-Servo-9g-For-RC-Airplane-Helicopter-Horns-/281013310560
20:42 zhanx got two of them, crap for anything over 9grams
20:42 rue_house http://www.ebay.ca/itm/6X-Micro-9g-Servo-for-Futaba-Hitec-HS-55-GWS-walkera-RC-/270818618094
20:42 rue_house ok
20:42 rue_house I thought 9g was the weight of the servo
20:42 zhanx it is
20:42 zhanx and its a crappy servo
20:43 rue_house Stall Torque : 1.5kg/cm
20:43 rue_house ok
20:43 rue_house but maybe a good deal for a small gearmotor?
20:43 zhanx i wanted to use them to control some animatronic eyes but to weak
20:44 rue_house must be the driver ,the motor looks ok
20:44 zhanx might have been, they are in my parts bin now
20:45 rue_house wanna tear into one, drive it direct and tell me how it does?
20:45 zhanx will try this week
20:45 zhanx weekend
20:45 rue_house thansk
21:51 zhanx rue_house, the plan for the robot, printer motors
21:53 zhanx need help on the hands for ideas
21:53 rue_house I'm playing with cable systems
21:53 rue_house mainly using fishing line in beads
21:53 zhanx was thinking that. the legs will be chain drives i think
21:54 rue_house http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=omvilpsd3sc
21:54 rue_house Fishing Line in BEADS...
21:55 zhanx i can do this
21:55 zhanx http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ONPkB-TmphE
21:56 rue_house yea but its not fishing line in beads
21:56 rue_house and its elastic release
21:56 zhanx k
21:56 zhanx so the fishing line in beads, build info?
21:57 rue_house there is no other ingormation on that build
21:57 Tom_itx rue is my site working for you?
21:57 rue_house link?
21:57 Tom_itx http://tom-itx.dyndns.org:81/~webpage/index.php
21:57 rue_house yes
21:57 zhanx me too
21:57 Tom_itx thanks
21:59 rue_house !time
21:59 tobbor My watch says its 07:45PM Fri May 03 2013
21:59 rue_house coool!
21:59 Tom_itx the time is wrong
22:00 zhanx rue http://www.scientiareview.org/pdfs/308.pdf
22:00 rue_house http://www.youtube.com/watch?NR=1&feature=endscreen&v=hbSFkNaBCTo ahahahaha inexperianced operator, and crew
22:02 rue_house its been run thru an ocr
22:06 rue_house zhanx, you were saying about dumping batteries out and fushing them out, do you do that with the battery fully charged or dead?
22:06 zhanx dead
22:06 rue_house that makes sense
22:07 rue_house then when done you just add distilled water back and charge it back up?
22:07 zhanx new acid with the water
22:07 rue_house but the sulfor would allready be on the plates?
22:08 zhanx its a weaker than new mix
22:08 rue_house ah, is there any S.G. re-tweeking?
22:09 zhanx dont both really
22:10 rue_house huh....
22:10 zhanx trying to decide if i want 2 dof per joint or one...
22:10 zhanx just make a 25% acid to water mix
22:10 rue_house hahah, real fingers have 3 actuators
22:10 rue_house retraction is a shared one
22:11 zhanx no, sorry for the arms joints
22:11 rue_house :) what mol acid :)
22:11 zhanx think its a pint jar and a quart jug
22:11 zhanx they look that size
22:11 rue_house human arms do a fine simulation of a spherical arm
22:12 zhanx key is low low weight on this
22:12 zhanx i want it 5' tall and the frame and cover to be 15 pounds without batteries or electronics
22:12 rue_house cut out the back of a few ovens and make a carbon fibre setup
22:13 zhanx pieces
22:13 zhanx plastic and steel wire is cheaper
22:13 zhanx like 50 bucks total for the body
22:14 rue_house hmm about the size of the large arm
22:14 rue_house I'v not trie it with 15lbs, but it should be good to 80kg or so
22:15 zhanx well like i said if i don't make it look nice first it will never happen, it will just be a wire frame robot forever
22:16 zhanx the plastic to cover the body will be about a pound with paint
22:17 rue_house too bad you dont have a stash of proportionate hydraulic servovalves
22:17 zhanx true
22:18 rue_house I bought a 4mm ream, I'm gonna try to make valves on the lathe
22:18 rue_house I should try to find a video on youtube of precision grinding
22:18 zhanx fun
22:19 zhanx need to finish my neck design for tomorrow
22:19 zhanx and then finalize the head
22:23 rue_house it looks like the precision grinding is just a fine wheel with carefull dressing and lots of cooling/cleaning air
22:23 zhanx http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:14986
22:24 rue_house ready to build a reprap yet?
22:24 rue_house mines mostly finished
22:24 zhanx not really
22:25 zhanx i got lots of bike chain, so my idea is to keep most of the weight of the robot low by using chain drives in the lower legs
22:29 rue_house oh that reminds me I have to finish reparing an axis on my cnc
22:29 rue_house I cant tell what their are dressing against
22:31 zhanx i need to repair my boards on my cnc
22:31 rue_house boot inncodent?
22:31 zhanx and get a ups so i can use it again the power here sucks
22:31 zhanx its 64 hz
22:31 zhanx and 123
22:31 zhanx v
22:31 rue_house thats gonna throw out clocks
22:31 zhanx it does
22:32 zhanx and kill things
22:32 rue_house we varry here form 110 to 140V
22:32 rue_house online ups
22:32 zhanx the hz is killing my alarm clock, i have to check the time everyday
22:34 rue_house oh its a diamond tip to dress the wheeel
22:34 rue_house 1 thou/pas!
22:35 rue_house I made brake oil based cutting fluid for the new lathe
22:36 rue_house so there isn't much paint left
22:37 rue_house $6 for a diamond dressing bit!
22:39 rue_house hmm, can a sanding belt be used for precision grinding!?
22:44 zhanx sure
22:44 zhanx i use stone tho
22:45 zhanx ok every arm segement will have 2 motors
22:45 zhanx minus the shoulder part need to think on that
22:46 rue_house http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lTCACvgRZCY&NR=1
22:46 rue_house look at those joints
22:46 rue_house the leg hips
22:46 rue_house only about 40% is inplausable art
22:47 zhanx true
22:47 rue_house I'm gonna use that hip design on the mecha if I can
22:48 zhanx u-joint
22:48 rue_house yep
22:48 rue_house cool idea eh?
22:48 zhanx yes
22:48 rue_house I like how you can really get the torque on it
22:49 zhanx ok so the hip has a like a hydraulic arm for the forward back
22:49 zhanx then another for up down
22:51 rue_house iirc something in there dosn't work in reality, but generally its pretty good
22:52 rue_house <-- nap
22:56 zhanx ok i got a good idea of what i am doing http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EEKmfruhC3A
