00:02 TELunus for?
00:12 rue_house pink noise
00:12 rue_house it works too
00:34 rue_bed TELunus, I cant help ya with windows
00:35 rue_bed when I last programmed windows like that, mp3 just came out
00:35 rue_bed and we were aw'd at how small it made stuff
00:35 rue_bed but you had to have a REALLY good computer to play them
00:35 rue_bed and a lot of harddrive space
00:36 TELunus Heh.
00:36 TELunus I'm not even working with mp3s.
00:36 rue_bed SDL
00:36 rue_bed try that
00:37 rue_bed iirc opengl needs either mesa or SDL to open a system window
00:37 TELunus I just want notes to come out my speakers. I got it to play a wave file. I can use that, but I'm trying to figure out how to make my own sounds now.
00:37 rue_bed so those layers do that stuff
00:37 rue_bed ah
00:37 rue_bed you can make a program to play a wav file?
00:38 rue_bed I think that code I posted creates wav-format data
00:38 TELunus Already have. It's the comented out part of the file I sent. It uses the playsound function to do so.
00:38 rue_bed you just need to call makesound once, makepink overlays a pile of tones
00:39 rue_bed oh it just plays the file for you?
00:39 rue_bed did you check out SDL?
00:39 TELunus Ya, pretty much.
00:40 TELunus You can get it to do a few other things too, like playing sound from a memory address.
00:40 rue_bed browsing internet is hopless on this computer
00:40 rue_bed hmm
00:40 TELunus But I want to try using sound buffers instead of files because I can acutally decide what things sound like that way.
00:40 rue_bed can you paste the function decleration ?
00:41 TELunus For which function?
00:41 rue_bed the one that plays sounds from memory
00:42 TELunus BOOL PlaySound(
00:42 TELunus LPCTSTR pszSound,
00:42 TELunus HMODULE hmod,
00:42 TELunus DWORD fdwSound
00:42 TELunus );
00:44 TELunus pszSound is the sound, hmod is usually a null pointer, fdwSound tells the function about the sound to play.
00:45 TELunus If the SND_MEMORY flag is set in fdwSound pszSound is interperted as a pointer to memory with sound data in it.
00:45 TELunus Microsoft is stupid.
00:51 rue_bed they have a naming convention
00:51 rue_bed p pointer
00:52 rue_bed sz string, something
00:52 rue_bed they all map back to simpel types usually
00:56 rue_bed hmm I'd have to look at it for quite a while
10:48 TELunus Well, I'v got my program making adjustible sounds.
20:08 rue_house cool, how did you solve it?
20:42 TELunus I think the problem was that I had frequency and amplitude set too 0.

23:13 rue_house ah a skittles sorter!
23:14 rue_house I'v seen this one
23:14 rue_house too slow, a skittles sorter should be able to do atleast 120 skittles/min
23:14 rue_house :)
23:37 useless DesignerThinking.com/index.html - There's a makers' club in Birmingham. They won't tell me where they meet, or when. I have been asking for over two months. I don't qualify, i guess. I don't play with explosives, i don't want to make a potato gun.
23:37 useless I do things like build my own water system, make a robot finger, make a DC lighting system which can power a dc-ac convertor to act as a 2.5kw 115vac UPS, make a multi output bench psu, and make a 0- 150vac bench power supply. But i just don't qualify as a human. The humans do not allow me to mingle with them.
23:42 rue_house wow, she was like, outahere
