14:06 TELunus Well, I seem to have gotten myself into a pickle. When booting from my hard drive I can't boot any of my kernels. I just put a new ubuntu installation image on a flash drive, but if I boot from that to try to recover my linux system it just freezes up.

16:33 rue_mohr TELunus, you should be abel to boot knoppix in mode 2, then do a 'chroot' to change the root fs to your old main fs, then you can get your old kernel or boot system back

16:36 TELunus I think the problems started after I ran a chroot command. A moment ago I was able to boot into the original kernel, and I found that my user had been deleted that apt

16:39 TELunus Grub comes up, asks me what to boot from, I select the entry for my old kernel and hit enter, the menu text from grub clears but the background image stays, and then nothing happens untill I hit reset.
