14:57 rue_shop4 I think I know what the discontinuty is
14:57 rue_shop4 its the ability for me to finish a project before I lose sight of its goal
14:59 rue_shop4 its a balance between the type of project I want to build, the complexity of the project, and my ability to just throw it togethor
15:05 tsmeow-afk has dej
15:06 katsmeow-afk set the project out in front of you, decide you wanna see if you can do it, then jump on it
15:09 katsmeow-afk 20+ yrs ago, with pipe in hand, i set out to run water up to the house from the creek, for mixing concrete, showering off crud, washing clothes, etc
15:10 katsmeow-afk that day, i got talked into using county water instead, by a neighbor
15:10 katsmeow-afk i always regretted it
15:11 katsmeow-afk so when i got back here from Fla, again with pipes, i wondered if i could not only get the water up here, but store it too, even tho the dogs stopped me from completing the dam and pond storage up here
15:12 katsmeow-afk and i needed more water than the county would allow per month, even if i could get back onto county after they disconnected me
15:12 katsmeow-afk for the garden
15:13 katsmeow-afk i did it, using an itty bitty pump, a swimming pool, scraps from the recycling center, $200 in pipe fittings :-/
15:13 katsmeow-afk and filters
15:14 katsmeow-afk i can now use more water in 2 days than the county would allow in a month, and for less money
15:31 rue_house your an engineer kat, you can make anything work
15:32 katsmeow-afk :-)
15:32 katsmeow-afk i believe you can too, rue
15:33 rue_house half the battle is knowing its limits, I'm sure a few people ahve trie to tow 5th wheels with a motorbike
15:33 katsmeow-afk lol,, there is a way, you know, there's baby carriages made for that
15:33 rue_house english!? you want me to learn ANOTHER language?
15:35 katsmeow-afk i sent a fail to a text editor company, they replied with instructions on how to modify winxp so that maybe, just maybe, their app might work,, i declined re-writing winxp just so i could open a text file
15:35 rue_house heh
15:37 rue_house ma bought a motorbike
15:37 rue_house yamaha 250
15:37 katsmeow-afk that's a fair amount of power
15:38 katsmeow-afk kinda tall for a bike, iirc
15:38 rue_house she was putzing, its just about her limit to back it up a slope
15:38 rue_house she was gettin a bit frustrated
15:38 katsmeow-afk i'd still rather like to have a trike, with a trailer hitch, of course
15:39 katsmeow-afk with a trike, optional is backup gear sometimes
15:39 katsmeow-afk you can still put a small starter motor on the chain for her, to back it up really really slowly
15:40 katsmeow-afk i'd be concerned about snow and ice traction , older bones are more fragile
15:41 katsmeow-afk there's some wonderful trikes around here, i'm pretty sure one of them costs 5x what all my vehicles cost total
15:43 katsmeow-afk one looks like the guy took the frontwheel drive axle minus engine, and brought out the input shaft to that transaxle, mounted a spocket on it, got an additional 4 gears plus reverse (reverse times the bike's original 5 gears)
15:44 katsmeow-afk i used a VW transaxle on a Ymamaha 4 wheeler, got 4 gears plus reverse, and 1500lbs carrying capacity :-)
15:45 katsmeow-afk you never know when a dump bed on your motorbike will come in handy
15:45 katsmeow-afk err, yamaha 3 wheeler
15:46 katsmeow-afk http://designerthinking.com/images/3wheeler/Yamaha%20with%20dump%20bed.jpg
15:46 katsmeow-afk needed power steering and power brakes
15:47 katsmeow-afk i carried a lot of dirt and rocks on that thing, logs too
15:48 katsmeow-afk ignore the white hot ufo hovering in the pic
15:50 tsmeow-afk expects rue to make up a new nameplate for his mom's bike: YoMama
15:50 katsmeow-afk <cough>
15:50 katsmeow-afk afk
16:06 rue_shop4 "awe look at the human, its cute, can I keep it?" "What have I told you about pets..."
16:11 rue_shop4 :) she drove a dumptruck for a while
23:44 katsmeow-afk just found out someone i know has lymphatic cancer, they gave him 5 years
23:46 katsmeow-afk he is the guy who owns the lakefront i go visit occasionally,, the lakefront, not their home
