00:10 rue_house isn't he 7805 rated to 40?
00:53 katsmeow-afk if i make a steam engine design no one has seen before, can youpatent it for me?
00:55 rue_house I cant afford to
00:57 katsmeow-afk but i eliminated the slide block on the end of the piston rod! :-(
01:00 e_house thinks about
01:03 katsmeow-afk the point was to eliminate wear and adjustment issues, and ensure rod alignment inherently
01:03 rue_house I'm not sure which nub you mean
01:03 katsmeow-afk without added friction, oil lines and collectors, weight, etc
01:05 katsmeow-afk http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Steam_engine_in_action.gif <<== see the sliding bits under the flying ball governor?
01:06 katsmeow-afk that siding arrangement keeps side forces off the piston, the cylinder lasts forever
01:07 katsmeow-afk but the slide wears fast, and needs a constant oil , and it drips oil, containing it is difficult, and it's friction
01:08 katsmeow-afk then it wears even .01" , it starts banging, and adds offset tot he piston rod packing , so steam starts leaking badly
01:08 rue_house ok
01:08 katsmeow-afk i found a way to eliminate it :-)
01:08 rue_house one of the most accurate diagrams I'v seen on wikipedia
01:09 e_house lets himself be mezmorized by the visually singing mac
01:10 katsmeow-afk it's purty
01:11 rue_house the crank and flywheel aren't synchonized :/
01:12 katsmeow-afk maybe they are geared behind the housing
01:13 rue_house :) yes, that must be it

01:14 rue_bed zzzz?

11:43 katsmeow-afk my unconcious-me has found a guaranteed way to wake me: it plays a recording of gods barking and gunfire,,, unfortunately the adrenaline rush isn't helpful 30 minutes later when it's faded away
17:35 katsmeow-afk The combustion chamber is here coloured a tasteful shade of pink.
17:35 katsmeow-afk From the Michel patent of 1921 (No 1,603,969)
21:21 katsmeow-afk so the obvious answer (to some people) is to make the boiler bend in the middle, either with a ball-joint, or- believe it or not- metal bellows. The idea originated with Samuel Vauclain of the Baldwin Locomotive company in 1910, and was prompted by the discovery that the combustion gases were no longer transferring heat to the water by the time they were some 22 feet ahead of the boiler.
22:54 TELunus Rue, I copied to eq3.c, but I didn't try to compile yet since I'm pretty sure new is a keyword at least in C++ if not in C.
