11:07 rue_house open source projects are dependency hell
11:13 Tom_itx i saw a couple good nozzles
11:14 Tom_itx i may try to make one just for the heck of it
11:14 Tom_itx http://reprap.org/wiki/J_Head_Nozzle#Mk_VI-B
11:47 Tom_itx rue_house are you getting more done lately?
11:47 Tom_itx you're sure here less
12:24 rue_house no
12:24 rue_house work has been CRAZY
12:24 rue_house I have a job I have to go back to today
13:14 Tom_itx you will have too much money to spend and no time to spend it
14:38 rue_house yes and no
14:39 rue_house not enough money to pay off the house, not enoug money to build a new one
15:54 katsmeow-afk i tried telling you to not tear down the old one all at once
15:56 katsmeow-afk i has a question: what placement accuracy is needed in a robot arm at the wrist, considering a 2ft lift, 10 inch from elbow to wrist , 20 inch swing from full extend to full bent elbow?
15:56 katsmeow-afk it's 180 degree bend range
15:57 katsmeow-afk is dividing it into 256 angles of placement enough?
15:57 katsmeow-afk that's .078 inches each step measure at elbow, or 0.7 degrees of elbow rotation
15:58 katsmeow-afk is that too coarse for a work robot?
15:58 katsmeow-afk like "go get more firewood" or "lift the car battery" or "go stand over there" ?
15:59 katsmeow-afk thinking like a stepper system, what inch offset should each step be at the wrist for a more human-oid-ish robot?
17:38 katsmeow-afk damnit, broke a 6-32 tap off in the alum
17:41 Tom_itx i left one there
17:43 katsmeow-afk hmm, a few strokes of the spring-loaded transfer punch, and the tap piece fel thru
17:43 katsmeow-afk now i wonder if i can cold flow the hole smaller and re-drill and re-tap it
17:56 katsmeow-afk kewl
17:59 katsmeow-afk i wouldn't believe it if i hadn't taken pics of it
17:59 katsmeow-afk now to drill it
18:05 katsmeow-afk defective aluminum!!
18:05 katsmeow-afk it's gotta be recycled stuff
18:05 katsmeow-afk it'sa hard to drill, and it's trying to break off a new tap
18:06 katsmeow-afk there's something hard embedded in it, the first drilled hole got the side of it, now that i moved the alum over to fill that hole, i moved the hard spot right to where i am tapping
18:10 katsmeow-afk got it tapped
18:12 katsmeow-afk perfect
18:12 katsmeow-afk even at supermacro zoom and extra lighting, it looks like there was never anything wrong
18:38 katsmeow-afk uploading
18:40 katsmeow-afk http://designerthinking.com/broken-tap-hole.html
18:40 katsmeow-afk at normal hold-in-paw non-magnified, on the transistor side, it loks like it was never damaged
18:41 katsmeow-afk fins are alil wavey on the other side
19:41 katsmeow-afk .
21:45 katsmeow-afk so..........
