11:12 AM WormFood: hhhhmmm...I just heard a new term I've never heard before. Any of you ever heard of a "swallow counter"? Sounds like something I'd expect to see in the corner of a porno. "The swallow counter is used to control the dual-modulus prescaler which is set to either N or (N+1). At the initial reset state, the prescaler is set to a divide ratio of (N+1), but the swallow counter will change this divide ratio to N when
11:22 AM WormFood: it finishes counting S number of cycles. The Swallow Counter gets its name from the idea that it "swallows" 1 from (N+1) of the dual-modulus prescaler."
01:04 PM Amadiro__ is now known as Amadiro
04:00 PM specing_ is now known as specing
06:58 PM Phantom: rue_mohr: !!! ya there?
07:41 PM rue_mohr: yes
07:48 PM Phantom: do you know where I can buy a 20x20x10mm copper block?
07:49 PM rue_mohr: hahah
07:50 PM rue_mohr: try a scrapper, funny thing to sell a house for tho
07:51 PM qu1j0t3: heh
07:53 PM rue_mohr: hmm, the 24C16 kinda sucks, they just melted 8 2k chips into one package
07:57 PM Phantom: and... does that cause issues?
07:57 PM rue_mohr: yea, the chip address isn't static
07:58 PM rue_mohr: cause its smothered across 8 chip indentities
07:58 PM rue_mohr: so you can only put 1 on the bus
08:10 PM Phantom: ARRG almost...
08:10 PM Phantom: found an old copper heatsink!
08:10 PM Phantom: but it's dome shaped....
08:11 PM Phantom: if I had some precision machining... it might have worked...
08:12 PM rue_mohr: not even bus bars for large switchgear would fit
08:15 PM Phantom: .. 7mm usable... 3mm short...
08:20 PM Phantom: found a slug big enough! . . . but they slotted it in the middle, so useless..
08:20 PM rue_mohr: sputter target?
08:24 PM qu1j0t3: bless you!
08:25 PM Phantom: rue_mohr: I passed thru my box of old misc heatsinks... a few were close calls... one was 9.5mm thick, but they slotted it, so 7mm usable... too little... another was 12mm, but slotted... another is dome shaped, and the roundness make it useless...
