12:21 AM rue_mohr: huh, I havn't used timers on the atmega8 yet
12:27 AM rue_mohr: I wonder if code from a m328 will work
12:27 AM rue_mohr: oh, its probably closer to a mega32
12:56 AM rue_mohr: ok, it took the m32 timer code
07:37 AM polprog: m8/m16/m32 are very similar
07:37 AM polprog: m64 probably too
07:38 AM polprog: i would risk saying it should be possible to use a hexfile for one on the other :P
07:38 AM polprog: (disclaimer: havent read the datahseet)
07:38 AM LeoNerd: Eh.. I've basically given up on all of the pre-UPDI chips, with the possible exception of the 328PB
07:38 AM LeoNerd: Any new designs of mine will be on one of the new ones. They're just soooo much nicer
07:39 AM LeoNerd: My exception for 328PB is because it has two SPI, two I²C and two USARTs, and sometimes it's nice to have two of each
07:58 AM polprog: i want to use stm32 in my new projects unless theres a good reason for avr
07:58 AM polprog: not giving up on avr though
07:58 AM polprog: i kida want to try as much stuff as possible
07:58 AM polprog: it would really help if i had time to do electronics
08:02 AM LeoNerd: I seem to be doing more electronics lately than programming
08:02 AM LeoNerd: In fact this week I'm mostly being paid to do board design for some folks :)
08:06 AM polprog: when i have time to sit at the bench im doing analogue electronics
08:07 AM polprog: https://polprog.net/rozne1/ircjunk/dcdc/uln2003boost.jpg
08:07 AM polprog: i think this is cool
08:19 AM McDonaldsWiFi is now known as PublicWiFi
08:58 AM cehteh: polprog: lol .. i bet that has crappy efficiency, but its pretty simple and cheap
09:01 AM McDonaldsWiFi is now known as PublicWiFi
09:07 AM rue_mohr: its not synchronous, so technically it cant be high efficiency
09:07 AM rue_mohr: but its easy
09:17 AM polprog: yep
09:18 AM polprog: i dont think ive done any serious measurement efficiency
09:24 AM twnqx: i have one good reason to not use stm32
09:25 AM twnqx: i can't build a bloody tollchain for them
09:40 AM rue_mohr: twnqx, we can help ya with that
09:40 AM rue_mohr: off to work, bbl
09:43 AM twnqx: focus on "build" - i don't install linaro binary toolchains
09:44 AM twnqx: i just can't seem to find how to make stock gcc/ld output absolutely non-dynamic binaries, there's always leftovers of relocations
09:45 AM twnqx: even after removal of pie, pic, aslr, or whatever
10:05 AM polprog: i have a makefile that Works[tm], and use libopencm
10:05 AM polprog: using arm-none-eabi-* toolchain, and libopencm3-generated linker scripts
10:08 AM polprog: https://bitbucket.org/polprog/pwes-stm32/src/master/
10:10 AM twnqx: maybe the linker scripts are what's causing my issues
10:35 AM McDonaldsWiFi is now known as PublicWiFi
11:01 AM Maya-sama is now known as Miyu
11:13 AM Miyu is now known as hackkitten
04:18 PM rue_mohr: polprog, and me are both using it
10:54 PM [1]MrMobius is now known as MrMobius
11:38 PM day_ is now known as day
