03:58 AM _abc_: Hi. Is there some site with CSR based chipset bluetooth module information, more consistent than the disparate information usually on the net? HC05 BTM112 BTM222 etc modules all use CSR chipsets. This in AVR context, perhaps including code.
04:04 AM _abc_: Also has anyone coded something like tcl expect in avr C already?
06:53 AM _abc_: Is this jimtcl oriented paper available / linked from the wiki? Found it on google. caxapa.ru/thumbs/377469/embedded-scripting.pdf
07:22 AM twnqx: _abc_ none of these are usable in a µC, they require embedded linux at the minimum i would say from the examples
07:33 AM _abc_: I know, I'm after someone porting the C guts of interact to plain jane ansi C and optimized a bit for embedded work. Size wise.
07:33 AM _abc_: twnqx:
11:05 AM vmt: can anyone remmeber who the indian guy was who used to hang around here?
11:06 AM vmt: if i recall correct he was working with enlightenment, the gui stuff, for work?
11:06 AM vmt: ami or something like that, I think?
11:15 AM nuxil: was it not antto?
11:16 AM vmt: no
11:16 AM nuxil: i also remember someone in here knew the enlightment dev and did some gui stuff. but cant recall who.
11:17 AM vmt: pretty sure it was ami or some variation on that
11:17 AM vmt: just randomly thought of that guy, he was quite fun
11:17 AM nuxil: is enlightment still alive tho?
11:17 AM vmt: no idea
11:18 AM vmt: i guess it is. the newest library was pushed out two months ago
11:19 AM nuxil: last time i tested out enlightenment was like 15 years ago :p
11:19 AM nuxil: and it was utterly useles.
11:21 AM vmt: heh, found him. https://github.com/amitesh-singh
11:21 AM vmt: wonder where he is nowadays
11:22 AM nuxil: who knows.
11:30 AM nuxil: was|is he living in finland?
11:30 AM nuxil: /msg nickserv info ami
11:31 AM nuxil: if ami is irc nick. hes somewhere on freenode :p
11:31 AM nuxil: *is his
11:32 AM vmt: nah, different guy
12:00 PM nohit: ami-
12:00 PM nohit: isnt that his nick
12:00 PM nohit: or was it -ami-
12:02 PM mouseghost is now known as not_mouseghost
12:16 PM nuxil: hmm. i wounder if i shall just talke a big lcd to test if my project has any merit. i got a couple of 24" and a 15.4 lcd's i could test with before ordering anything new.
12:16 PM nuxil: but the screens i got have verry low ppmm and high dot pich :\
01:47 PM vmt: comma as a decimal separator
01:47 PM vmt: yuck
01:47 PM vmt: ...and python obv
01:48 PM vmt: nohit: yeah something like that
01:48 PM nuxil: lol,, nput("Enter Diagonal Screen Inches :").replace(",",".") i can use both :p
01:48 PM nuxil: happens so that comma is on my numpad. and its easyer to use numpad to type in numbers fast
01:49 PM nohit: i use replace() too with java
01:50 PM nuxil: :)
01:58 PM nuxil: vmt, yes python. i use python a lot for small simple scripts. why would i bother with c/c++. :p
01:59 PM * polprog smacks nuxil with a copy of The Unix Programming Environment
01:59 PM polprog: interactive programs bad
02:00 PM polprog: ./ppi-calculator.py -w 2560 -h 1440 -d 5.5 --use-inches -a
02:01 PM vmt: because small scripts are just as trivial to implement with c
02:01 PM nohit: i would do that with Qt
02:01 PM nohit: its command line parser just rules
02:02 PM nuxil: polprog, yes. i could parse arguments but why bother. your example is more to type :p
02:02 PM vmt: yeah i would probably do that with a javascript parser on the smallest attiny i can find
02:02 PM polprog: vmt: not enough k8s
02:02 PM vmt: needs more docker
02:02 PM vmt: and some RESTful stuff
02:03 PM nuxil: polprog, also you should know by now. im not a big linux user. :O
02:03 PM polprog: doesnt man anything
02:03 PM polprog: im using putty from a w7 machine to talk to you now
02:03 PM polprog: ;)
02:03 PM nuxil: then hit someone else with unix manual :p
02:03 PM vmt: polprog: preposterous!
02:03 PM polprog: yes, i know i should upgrade
02:04 PM vmt: you ought to be using some forgotten sparc machines from waybackwhen
02:04 PM polprog: haha
02:04 PM * polprog looks behind
02:04 PM vmt: or something like a pdp11
02:04 PM polprog: i havent powered the sun up in a long time
02:04 PM vmt: : <
02:05 PM polprog: you know i found an advert about a polish clone of a pdp11 in a 1989 newspaper?
02:05 PM polprog: imma go around the uni looking for some
02:05 PM vmt: hahah
02:05 PM vmt: oh yeah, you got in?
02:05 PM vmt: EE yeah?
02:05 PM polprog: no
02:05 PM polprog: photonics after all
02:05 PM vmt: wut
02:06 PM vmt: one time we spoke you said you'd apply to ee
02:07 PM nohit: he never did say that
02:07 PM nohit: it was speculated
02:07 PM polprog: i changed the order of preferred faculties when i saw my highschool final resutls
02:07 PM polprog: results*
02:07 PM vmt: oh yeah alright
02:08 PM polprog: plus, this is a super cool field
02:08 PM vmt: how's photonics workin gout?
02:08 PM vmt: working out, even
02:08 PM polprog: exams start in a week
02:08 PM polprog: end of term
02:08 PM nuxil: slow down polprog youre turning blue :p
02:08 PM polprog: i only have two
02:08 PM polprog: nuxil: what ?
02:08 PM polprog: a
02:08 PM nuxil: never mind.
02:08 PM polprog: hahahaha
02:09 PM polprog: i get it
02:09 PM polprog: :P
02:09 PM nuxil: :)
02:11 PM nuxil: did you make that photon multiplier yet? i can recall you had some project with that
02:11 PM vmt: consider leaving #avrs
02:12 PM vmt: also where's dean
02:19 PM nuxil: who is dean?
02:20 PM polprog: Dan?
02:20 PM polprog: nuxil: no its stalled for the exam time
02:20 PM nuxil: ok
02:20 PM polprog: last time we had some strange behavior on the testboard when conencted to the actual device
02:37 PM vmt: abcminiuser
02:38 PM polprog: i havent seen him for like.. couple years now
02:38 PM polprog: same with Lambda
02:41 PM vmt: yes. sad
02:41 PM polprog: i could have sent him a postcard but that would be borderline creepy
02:41 PM vmt: though i did see him some time ago
02:41 PM vmt: maybe six months or so.
02:41 PM vmt: could be a year. time flies.
02:42 PM vmt: but he did pop in here for a quick visit
02:43 PM vmt: abcminiuser that is. lambda is probably lost reminiscing about some tech from 80s that he used to work with
02:43 PM vmt: good stuff good stuff
02:43 PM polprog: yep, the xerox technician
02:44 PM vmt: in any case, i wanted to say polprog i quite enjoy your website
02:44 PM polprog: thanks
02:44 PM polprog: i try to keep it distant from the modern web crap
02:45 PM polprog: i mean the bad sides of modern web
02:45 PM vmt: i wasn't aware of any other sides
02:45 PM vmt: though, i spotted even rue doing javascript... the end times are near...
02:47 PM polprog: CSS3 is pretty neat
02:47 PM polprog: also, light JS is not bad
02:47 PM polprog: i know rue upgraded his gallery script
02:47 PM polprog: soon after i borrowed it from him for my site
02:47 PM polprog: i should update as well
02:48 PM vmt: js is :(
02:48 PM vmt: and i don't really know wtf were they thinking with webassembly
02:48 PM vmt: it's moronic, as well
02:48 PM polprog: oh yeah that
02:48 PM polprog: its silly
02:48 PM polprog: i try not to use JS
02:49 PM polprog: like the blinking cursor animation is done in CSS on my site
02:49 PM vmt: css as a spec is (well, has really) gotten out of hands, too
02:50 PM vmt: though nowadays i guess the support for any given feature is better and more uniform between browsers
02:51 PM vmt: and you don't have to worry about a random new browser hitting the market because nobody in their right mind is going to start developing a browser because how clusterfucky both css and js have gotten
02:51 PM vmt: well js has always been dogshit but you know
02:51 PM vmt: every new browser is just webkit with some tweaks
02:51 PM polprog: pretty much
02:52 PM vmt: or the newest trend which offer cloud surfing because browsers are so fucking horrible
02:52 PM vmt: so basically you tunnel to some server which browsers for you in order to spare ram and cycles on your own machine. \:D/
02:52 PM vmt: browses*
02:54 PM vmt: my english is getting more broken by the minute
03:01 PM polprog: wow LOL
03:01 PM polprog: thats idiotic
03:09 PM vmt: i've seen at least two "browsers" which advertise themselves as utilizing very little resources (i.e. cpu-time and memory)
03:10 PM vmt: claiming to be revolutionary. something like having a hundred tabs open running with just a dozen megs of ram or whatever
03:10 PM vmt: you just need a framebuffer \:D/
03:13 PM polprog: lol
03:37 PM _abc_: Anyone got a link to this but already ported to avr-gcc and possibly smaller? https://www.drdobbs.com/architecture-and-design/matching-wildcards-an-algorithm/210200888
03:37 PM _abc_: I feel the code is overly complex for what it does. Tried to write a trivial implementation in tcl to see where it goes.
03:47 PM nohit: what are you trying to achieve ?
04:03 PM _abc_: glob style matching in embedded using only * no ?+
06:25 PM PoppaVic: why the hell would an AVR need globbing? sheesh
08:50 PM Smidge204: I can attest that _abc_ is not the sharpest spoon in the drawer
11:23 PM day__ is now known as day
