08:55 AM julius: since you shouldnt control 10w leds via a pwm base voltage reduction, whats the name of a constant current chip that can be controlled from a avr? so i can write code how high to switch the current
09:29 AM Rez__ is now known as Rez
10:36 AM cehteh: julius: google
11:31 AM Smidge204: It's not clear why PWM is verboten. Unless you're using a linear current regulator and pissing away the excess power as heat, that's pretty much how they work
11:59 AM cehteh: actually i think PWM is prefered, because only that ensures same color over all brightness levels
02:20 PM julius: cehteh, dont know what to google, constant current and avr does not really give me something i understand
02:21 PM julius: as far as i know the voltage should stay the same because of heat dissipation and the current should be regulated instead

02:28 PM nohit: --
02:34 PM rue_mohr: so, I need a circuit that will tell me the high and low peak of a waveform, and the zero crossing times at the 50% mark between the two
02:35 PM rue_mohr: my current circuit might just need a buffer on tehinput
02:37 PM rue_mohr: ah, and I need a new power supply for the tea machine
03:01 PM cehteh: rue_mohr: http://lushprojects.com/circuitjs/circuitjs.html menu->Circuits->Opamp->PeakDetektor
03:02 PM cehteh: julius: google "power led driver"
03:03 PM cehteh: https://www.maximintegrated.com/en/products/power/led-drivers/MAX16834.html for example

05:29 PM [1]MrMobius is now known as MrMobius
08:43 PM rue_mohr: heh, I'll probably throw in a small transformer
11:57 PM day__ is now known as day
