12:07 AM rue_mohr: yes.
03:00 AM nohit: sup rue
03:03 AM skz81: <cehteh> seen my rant about my schoolbook divide implementation is *much* faster than what gcc did? :) >> in -O3 ??
04:13 AM cehteh: skz81: -O3
04:14 AM cehteh: err -Os
04:14 AM cehteh: and lto
04:14 AM cehteh: skz81: gcc uses its libgcc function, by call not inlined and thats more generic
04:15 AM cehteh: i dont think -O3 will change that and i only need the optimized code in one place, dont want to build the whole program with -O3
04:26 AM skz81: cehteh, ok... But when it comes to comparing speed, -O3 is more relevant that -Os :]
04:26 AM skz81: I don't know about libgcc, maybe -O3 won't help in your case
04:28 AM skz81: BTW you still can compile one single module (.c or so) using -O3 and the rest with -Os :p Needs a separate file for the "o-three-ish" things, but hey...
04:28 AM cehteh: i dobt that will work with lto
04:29 AM cehteh: and gains by lto surpass the -O3 vs -Os gains i bet
04:30 AM cehteh: there is not so much difference between O3 and Os only some bloat is left out
