02:57 AM vmt: jesseg: it's fine, there's always javascript and cpp
03:01 AM vmt: cpp for when you are especially interested in useless semantics concerning meta, and/or own a vag
03:01 AM vmt: and javascript when you really just can't make it
04:11 AM nohit: or you are an actual programmer
04:35 AM [1]MrMobius is now known as MrMobius
05:04 AM vmt: being an actual programmer here refers to one's ability to string together libraries, most of which said "programmer" a) has not even contributed to, or b) doesn't understand. the abstract skill-level is directly proportional to the the amount of libraries (weighing them by their size, the bigger the better) used in a still-functional product
05:07 AM vmt: when things break; your spaghetti which is intertwined with n abstractions (and mechanisms) provided by said libraries, you can always rewrite using a different set of libraries
05:27 AM nohit: actually you buy the (most important)libraries so they are well doucmentation and tested
05:28 AM nohit: *documented
05:33 AM [1]MrMobius is now known as MrMobius
05:40 AM [1]MrMobius is now known as MrMobius
06:44 AM vmt: give me examples of libraries which your companies have bought, which your codemonkeys could not implement by themselves?
06:44 AM vmt: i don't need exact names, just overall ideas
06:44 AM vmt: companies, i meant your company as in singular
07:14 AM nohit: im not in the mood of feeding trolls right now
07:40 AM vmt: as if
07:40 AM vmt: time constraints do not mandate (or justify) poor quality. that's a problem of management, not one of programmers
07:57 AM twnqx: if you buy libraries, that's where your problem start, with next to no excemptions
07:57 AM twnqx: if money is involved, it's always barely passing quality due to minimum effort and maximum profit
10:57 AM [1]MrMobius is now known as MrMobius

07:57 PM rue_mohr: http://paste.debian.net/1053947/
07:57 PM rue_mohr: its starting to take on the volume of your program
08:04 PM rue_mohr: hah 840 lines
08:10 PM jesseg: rue_bed, cool... yeah it is taking on kind of a long look :D
08:10 PM jesseg: Only 10910 more lines and you'll overtakeme
08:45 PM rue_mohr: Lines!?!
08:45 PM rue_mohr: wow dude
11:31 PM day__ is now known as day
11:53 PM vmt: rue_mohr: only poor programmers need clean-ups
11:56 PM rue_mohr: lots of this has been trying to find my way thru parts of the motif library that are completely undocumented, things that have misleading names
11:57 PM rue_mohr: so there is a lot of WTF? code
