05:15 AM polprog: http://polprog.net/blog/passwd
06:56 AM Emil: which is why you should always encrypt
09:45 AM McDonaldsWiFi: rue_shop3: Still haven't had time to really mess with my project :(
09:45 AM McDonaldsWiFi: rue_shop3: have you?
10:18 AM nuxil: polprog, did you get your stlink today ?
10:19 AM nuxil: polprog, https://i.gyazo.com/5254d59359419ff969f6167eeb56757c.jpg https://i.gyazo.com/3ffa9ae167910e7867135c412ec649b1.jpg
10:20 AM nuxil: the thing is fucking huge :D
10:20 AM * nuxil loves his new baby
10:22 AM learath: nuxil: you should return your potato
10:23 AM nuxil: lol
10:41 AM _ami_: nuxil: nice
10:41 AM _ami_: my usb function generator: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DV1kiqvVMAEP5qq.jpg
10:42 AM _ami_: added DDS support too.
10:42 AM _ami_: i wonder if its worth to add AWG support.
10:43 AM nuxil: :)
10:43 AM nuxil: awg?
10:43 AM _ami_: AWG (arbitary waveform generator)
10:43 AM nuxil: ahh
10:44 AM nuxil: why bother
10:45 AM _ami_: yeah, not needed for me since i am not doing anything advance :P
10:46 AM nuxil: if you got sine, squar, trianagle, saw, rew saw, (egc and noise) youre pretty much got what you will ever need.
10:46 AM nuxil: *ecg
10:47 AM _ami_: yes, you are right
10:47 AM polprog: nuxil: yes i did!
10:47 AM polprog: and it WORKS
10:48 AM nuxil: cool
10:48 AM polprog: which is a nice surprise given its a chineese clone
10:48 AM _ami_: polprog: hacking stm32?
10:48 AM polprog: i also modeed rues makefile to add "make reset" target
10:48 AM polprog: _ami_: you could say that ;)
10:49 AM _ami_: these stlink clones are beauty - works without any problem.
10:49 AM _ami_: polprog: either buy BMP or make a BMP using stm32f103
10:50 AM nuxil: polprog, you got a brymen 867?
10:51 AM polprog: nuxil: yeah. how did you know? youtube>
10:51 AM polprog: ?
10:52 AM nuxil: the data cable did come with mine.. it was "extra" i had to buy, and they wanted like almost 50€ for it. is it worth getting it?
10:52 AM nuxil: polprog, i can recall seeing it on your bench in some of your pictures
10:52 AM nuxil: *didnt come with mine
10:55 AM polprog: nuxil: i didnt get the cable with mine as well
10:56 AM nuxil: oki.
10:56 AM polprog: its some kind of optical rs232
10:56 AM _ami_: polprog: are u programming those stm32 bare metal?
10:56 AM _ami_: or using any library?
10:56 AM polprog: _ami_: with opencm3
10:56 AM _ami_: cool. sane choice :D
11:01 AM Jartza: nuxil: https://i.imgur.com/7txxxP8.jpg
11:01 AM Jartza: :D
11:24 AM nuxil: Jartza, hehe. starting to look like a spaceship :p
11:24 AM polprog: Jartza: now make a rube goldberg machine out of those
11:24 AM polprog: :P
11:25 AM nuxil: make thouse modules include busses, print them over some flexi cable with connectors on the end :p
11:26 AM nuxil: with pin on top
11:27 AM Jartza: naah. sooner or later those breadboars will look like a mess
11:27 AM Jartza: I need like 20-30 breadboars more
11:27 AM Jartza: and few rolls of single core cable
11:28 AM nuxil: old cat cables?
11:28 AM Jartza: naah, I get some stiffer stuff
11:35 AM Jartza: gonna build computer out of ttl
11:35 AM nuxil: Jartza, im looking on the right one the blue. is it 1 part you printed out that you put the breadboard in ?
11:36 AM polprog: cat 5 is pretty stiff
11:36 AM polprog: at least the one i have
11:37 AM Jartza: the breadboard piece is one part, then 4 holders
11:38 AM nuxil: how about making the parts on the sides slide out from the main. so you get like 4 retracteble "shelfs" you put the modules on.
11:38 AM Jartza: the sides do slide out
11:39 AM nuxil: oh.
11:40 AM nuxil: hard to see on the picture. on the right one. it just looks like you put a block on the end of the module
11:41 AM Jartza: https://i.imgur.com/Z8iktxR.jpg
11:41 AM nuxil: ahh. nice :)
11:41 AM nuxil: with rubberband :=
11:41 AM nuxil: )
11:41 AM Jartza: so there's 4 of those slots that slide out
11:41 AM Jartza: yea
11:42 AM nuxil: that was smart
11:42 AM Jartza: and there's groove where the board slides into
11:43 AM nuxil: yeh i saw thouse.
11:44 AM Jartza: and the boards stay put there really well
11:46 AM nuxil: i really want a 3d printer now :p
11:46 AM Jartza: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zOXZ8mayTnA
11:46 AM Jartza: shake test :D
11:47 AM nuxil: that seems to work rather well
11:51 AM Jartza: yeah
02:41 PM unregisterednick: hi
02:41 PM unregisterednick: ;>>
02:41 PM unregisterednick: cameraman forget he wasn't supposed to film the source of the bags https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HZwcEMfJkPo
03:10 PM polprog: rue_: you up?
03:12 PM unregisterednick: :) at least you don't have to worry about humans touching your food without gloves hair in fod, or taking a bite? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9bQnHrSX_8Y though these robots will not care if bugs or rats are in your food, or radioactive dust, acid, mold, they will happily pack anything and don't complain
03:12 PM unregisterednick: hey polprog
03:13 PM polprog: hey
03:18 PM nuxil: unregisterednick, T-700 is soon comming :D
03:18 PM nuxil: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fRj34o4hN4I
03:21 PM polprog: rue_: nevermind, sorted it out
03:22 PM polprog: i wrote a working string send function for stm
03:22 PM polprog: !
03:26 PM unregisterednick: [22:16] <nuxil> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fRj34o4hN4I - ha it has accelerometers and fpga
03:30 PM polprog: night
03:31 PM nuxil: hitting the bed early today?
03:31 PM Jartza: https://imgur.com/SIczrax
03:31 PM Jartza: :)
03:33 PM nuxil: its the tagsu you got there ?
03:56 PM Jartza: only tagsu pcb plus lcd
03:56 PM Jartza: needed something to attach the display into
03:59 PM nuxil: oki. its a handy display to do misc testes with :)
04:01 PM nuxil: i have one i soldered wires too. that i use for breadboard stuff.
04:01 PM nuxil: dont know what connector i would be looking for if i was to get some :p
04:11 PM Jartza: dunno if there even is any
04:12 PM Jartza: which is why I used those extra PCBs
04:12 PM nuxil: yea. idk. i tried to google a bit, but gave up rather quickly and just soldered some wires on.
04:13 PM nuxil: works tho :)
04:36 PM Jartza: I guess they are anyways meant to be soldered to pcb
04:36 PM polprog: cant sleep :(
04:37 PM polprog: ill try to implement hd44780 on stm32 next. on avr i just used a library by some polish guy
04:37 PM nuxil: try count electons instead of sheeps :p
04:37 PM polprog: did chemistry today
04:38 PM nuxil: get i2c display instead of thouse messy parralell ones :)
04:38 PM polprog: an oled /lcd would be sweet
04:38 PM polprog: graphic one
04:38 PM nuxil: oled mmm.
04:39 PM polprog: you know one of those which use i2c for control and a fast paralell bus for image data
04:40 PM nuxil: would it be possible if, lets say you had a 5" oled screen with super high resolution. 1920 or something.. then use that screen as a lightsource when exposing the cobber.
04:40 PM nuxil: i wounder if it would work since black on a oled is truly black. and not backlit
04:40 PM polprog: just display the trace mosaic (we call it mosaic in polish) on the display, hehe
04:41 PM unregisterednick: Laser Copier HACK! (Bag Sealer) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bMpY4J5HNLo
04:41 PM nuxil: if you only get a low res screen.. you need to apply anitaliasing to your bobber :p
04:41 PM unregisterednick: >
04:42 PM polprog: heh
04:42 PM unregisterednick: better than an iron or hairstraightener
04:42 PM polprog: yeah
04:43 PM unregisterednick: fine tune it and use the included temperature sensors ? ;>
05:12 PM polprog: night
05:13 PM polprog: i should sleep now for real
05:13 PM ArsenArsen: heh
05:13 PM ArsenArsen: I know that feeling
05:26 PM unregisterednick: the russian clamp https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bf1toh7UEuw
05:33 PM nuxil: i hate thouse clamps
05:33 PM nuxil: i really do.
05:45 PM ArsenArsen: I'm hooking up my LCD to PORTC (pins 21-28) of my 8515 and trying to use http://homepage.hispeed.ch/peterfleury/avr-lcd44780.html and I'm hooking C0 C1 C2 C3 -> D4 D5 D6 D7 respectively and C4 C5 C6 -> RS RS E respectively. In lcd.h I already set LCD_PORT to PORTC and probing around the circuit shows that the port is set up correctly
06:16 PM ArsenArsen: oh wait I think I misconfigured my MCU in gcc
06:19 PM ArsenArsen: yep, was that combined with my data lines not being properly hooked up/having bad contact
06:48 PM rue_: hahah russians did it again, diy vise... gee whiz
07:06 PM nuxil: so i been messing a round with my new multimeter. i like it verry much i must say.
07:07 PM nuxil: the only thing i didnt like is this annoying beep. beep, beep each time i press a button.
07:08 PM nuxil: wish there was a stfu settings. but cant find one :p
08:49 PM McDonaldsWiFi: rue_: oppps I pinged one of your bots or whatevers instead of you
08:49 PM McDonaldsWiFi: xD
08:50 PM McDonaldsWiFi: rue_: oh you have different accounts for each area? That's interesting... never seen something like that before xD
08:54 PM Tom_L: no, he's just cloned himself
09:37 PM unregisterednick: hi
09:37 PM unregisterednick: my samsung laser printer is officially dead now, it probably has a power on hour limit because i did not even print out 3000 pages with it...
09:37 PM unregisterednick: leds blink at power on off but nothing else
09:38 PM unregisterednick: ;/
10:20 PM rue_shop3: you should see the printer I use
10:21 PM rue_shop3: its power supply is failing, you have to get your print ready, plug it in, wait for it to get to the network initialization, hit print as fast as you can, and hope it finishes printing before the supply blacks out
10:21 PM rue_shop3: well, I think it might also be a BGA problem
10:41 PM rue_: McDonaldsWiFi, those are all me
10:41 PM McDonaldsWiFi: xD
10:42 PM rue_: this is my main desk, bed is litterally in the bed, the shops are... you guessed it, in the shop
10:43 PM rue_: nuxil, you can disconnect one of the wires from the beeper if you dont want it for continuty
10:43 PM rue_: this can usually be achived by lowering the top of the beeper to about 0.1" off the top of the pcb with some large sidecutters
10:43 PM nuxil: heh. i oversaw the part in the manual that said. "hold in range button" while turning it on :p
10:43 PM rue_: k
10:44 PM rue_: I'll keep using that method on my UPSs tho
10:44 PM rue_: its funny, you would think they weren't meant to handle power outages, some of them freak out and beep like crazy
10:45 PM rue_: I dont mind UPSs that beep when their battery is almost out of juice
10:45 PM nuxil: lol
10:45 PM rue_: but power outages are part of the job, so shut up and deal with it
10:50 PM rue_: hmm 30% load
10:50 PM rue_: or 630W
10:51 PM rue_: hmm almost 200w
10:52 PM rue_: CUMONBATT: 25891 Seconds
10:52 PM rue_: I'm not sure what that param is...
10:53 PM rue_: ya know, the real meaning... not how it reads...
10:54 PM rue_: it thinks it can only last 30 mins, it dosn't know that I upgraded the batteries from 8Ah to 120Ah
10:54 PM nuxil: run time of battery ?
10:54 PM rue_: I'v had it run for 4 hours
10:56 PM rue_: well, 25891 Seconds is 7 hours, which is about right for the runtime since I last started it
10:57 PM rue_: or was that last outage 7 hours?
10:57 PM rue_: from 7am to about 3pm?
10:57 PM rue_: 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 1, 2, 3 .... oo maybe the last runtime
10:58 PM rue_: dont know if that was the last outage tho
10:58 PM rue_: I thought there were some annoying winks since then
11:39 PM day__ is now known as day
